Thank you, Welwyn Grange, for hosting such a wonderful birthday party for my friend. Everything was beautifully arranged, and the atmosphere made it truly special. The cake was the fabulous highlight of the celebration-absolutely delicious and perfectly presented. It made the day even more memorable!

My husband went to Welwyn Grange from hospital in February. He was very frail and had Alzhheimers. Unfortunately he only spent 2 weeks there but the care he received was wonderful. Welwyn Grange is more hotel than Nursing Home and spotlessly clean.
I found all the staff to be caring, kind, compassionate
attentive and they made his last days very comfortable. I'm also grateful for the warmth and care they showed me as I navigated a very difficult time.
Before he passed away he had a visit from Fudge, the bunny rabbit, (he loved all animals) I don't think he knew much about it, but it was just another lovely touch that Welwyn Grange provided and I had a lovely cuddle!
I couldn't have asked for a more caring environment and especially staff for my husband to have spent his last days in and with. Thankyou.

Prior to my retirement I worked for many years as a support worker, and therefore have personal experience of how challenging the role can be.
Since my relative became a resident I am pleased to say that overall I have had a very positive experience at the Grange. The residence is always clean and
tidy and both staff and management are always polite, professional and helpful. And most importantly my relative is happy, safe and well cared for with both dignity and respect. Many thanks to all concerned.

From my first call one friday tea-time, Oakham Grange have been excellent in their care + patient service.
I needed to get my 83 year old mum in for emergency respite care that evening and they accommodated and helped me straight away, the staff were so kind. A nurse and senior support worker were
waiting for us and instantly put my mum at ease. Her room is very nice and clean and every care need my mum has is taken care of with kindness, dignity and respect. She feels safe and looked after. I can't thank you all enough.

Dad has been a resident at Oakham Grane for around 6 months following a fall at home. I viewed around a dozen care homes before choosing Oakham Grange and am delighted at how things have worked out. The facilities for dad are excellent - he has a build in hoist in his room to allow him to be moved safely
from bed to chair etc. The staff are very friendly and caring, the food is excellent and the general facilities top rate.

We took the decision of placing our Mum into respite care with Potters Grange towards the end of February. From the very first contact with the staff we were extremely impressed with the level of care, not only for our Mum but also for our family. We were aware right from the first day Mum arrived,
that the care is very personal and being a relatively small care home it gives the impression of being a large family. The facilities are outstanding & nothing is too much trouble for the staff. Our Mum has flourished in the 5 weeks that she has stayed & we have now confirmed that we will be changing her care to a permanent contact. We would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Potters Grange to anyone who may be looking to find a home for their loved ones.

My mum moved to Welwyn Grange for palliative nursing care after her needs became too complex to meet at home. At the time it was a difficult decision to make. But very quickly I knew it had been the right one. The staff were amazing at caring for my mum, making sure she was comfortable and well looked
after. They took a genuine interest in mum and went out of their way to look after her with dignity. This meant I could spend my time just being with her and making the most of our time together. I felt very supported by the team. Their kindness made a real difference to me in mums final days. The place looks amazing and is always spotlessly clean but it is the exceptional care of the staff that earns Welwyn Grange my five star rating.

Cat as supervisory manager (for my mother) uses her personal knowledge and understanding to determine the appropriate (and tailored) care programme for my elderly (and disabled) parent.
The facilities are excellent and the setting feels more like a home than a care facility.

After a very emotional experience at another care home, we were delighted when Welwyn Grange agreed to accept my father into their care following his discharge from hospital following a fall back in December 2024. Welwyn Grange is a stunning nursing home and feels like a beautiful hotel when inside.
My father had dementia and from the moment he arrived at Welwyn Grange they took great care of him and brought him back from a very poor state of health to the man he was before his fall. My father settled in very well and all the management, support staff and first hand carers treated him with respect and kindness. He was always encouraged to take part in the various activities and ,was shown great affection and friendship from everyone. When, as a family, we felt despair Welwyn Grange were our saviour. My father passed away in December 2025, with great dignity, in his bedroom at Welwyn Grange - just as he would have wanted. Welwyn Grange Nursing Home is just the best - thank you.

Our mum went to Welwyn Grange in May 2025 for respite care - whilst she was there we researched all neighbouring care homes, none came near to the standard of Welwyn Grange so in Aug 2025 mum moved in. She was welcomed immediately by all staff and residents and she could relax in her own lovely bedroom
surrounded by all her own bits and bobs or socialise in the several lounges, and we as a family felt secure in the fact that our mum was safe and well looked after. The environment is so relaxed and homely, facilities available to visiting family/friends are excellent too. We can not praise all staff - from those front of house to those well behind the scenes enough - mum had excellent care (almost too much food ;) ).
When mums time came to leave us the nurses on duty and carers were absolutely brilliant - showing mum dignity and love. Thank-you Welwyn Grange !

My wonderful step-father was sent to Welwyn Grange for end-of-life care direct from the hospital. We are so blessed that the Welwyn Grange was able to take him. While we were only there for a short time, the kind, caring staff and beautiful surroundings made his final days comfortable and as good as
they could be. We would like to thank all the staff, including the experienced nursing staff, for their attentive, gentle care, thoughtfulness and warmth. I miss going to the Grange and seeing all the staff as you were made to feel part of the extended family. Warm wishes to everyone there.

The care mum received at Welwyn Grange in the final two weeks of her life was outstanding. All the staff, whether receptionists, support workers or nurses, were always kind, considerate and respectful of mum. They also made me feel welcome at all times. I can't thank them enough for making mum comfortable
and looking after her so well.

I had a fall and could not look after myself at home, and could not find a carer. I came for a rest to help me recover. I found the room large, comfortable did restful. There are more staff about than I expected and they are friendly helpful and well trained. If I need this kind of support in the future
I shall apply here.

Our elderly friend needed respite, and she couldn't have been cared for any better! She was so nervous going in, but the staff made her feel at ease straight away.
Staff are clearly enjoying working here and us as visitors were made to feel so welcome.
On top of that, the home is beautiful.
Our
friend is now at home, but told us she'd like to come back for a cuppa and say hello to the staff, and would soon like to go back for her 'pamper holiday'.
We brought in an anxious fragile bird, but got back home a chatty confident lady who's spreading her wings!
Thank you what all of you have done, you're all amazing!

My godmother arrived at Oakham Grange in October 2025 following respite elsewhere and the realisation she was unable to live in her own home any longer, even with support.
From the moment I spoke to Emma, the Care Pathway Manager arranging a room, to all staff supporting my godmother through a somewhat
tricky and upsetting settling in period for her, due to her condition, nothing has been too much trouble. The staff are polite, professional caring and attentive and nothing is too much trouble, including sourcing a McDonalds milkshake for breakfast!!!
Everyone is friendly from the nursing staff to the housekeeping staff and activities co-ordinator.
Staff respond quickly to emails and deal with any concerns raised at the earliest opportunity. They have kept us informed in with any issue regarding my godmother which is very reassuring.
I am a former adult and paediatric manager and have been impressed by the care and compassion staff convey to all residents.

At all times I found the support & care given very good indeed - from front of house to back of house and the invisible people in between. I cannot believe they could have done any more for my mother who was able to enjoy her remaining months in comfort and without need.
All members of staff were
capable and delivered their support in a kind, smiling, calm and professional manner -- truly invaluable.

In our experience, Oakham Grange provides excellent care. We greatly appreciate their flexibility and understanding as my aunt undergoes a difficult transition towards relinquishing her independence. The environment in the home is warm, clean and comfortable with good provision for both privacy and

The Grange was amazing from start to finish. We had tried 5 care homes which all either rejected us or we rejected them.
The grange did not turn us away but worked with us to help our father find the right home for him. To do this we arranged a faux wine tasting for my father which the grange and
emma in particular went along with.
The daily reviews were a god sent and the level of care that was provided was top notch.
In those final moments you could see the genuine care and love for my dad.
Can not say thank you enough.
