Review of Leycester House from Diana K (Respite Resident) published on 29 July 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
I stayed for 2 weeks after a total knee replacement - arriving on my Birthday. Greeted by many staff with flowers cake and buntin - what a warm welcome. My stay gave me the confidence to recover from surgery - nothing was too much trouble from any of the staff they made sure things were what I was used to and wanted. Even to my lemon water at breakfast time. The activities were good each day keeping residence in touch with the world. My visitors were always made welcome - even my daughters dog.
I would and have recommend anyone to stay - either short term or long term.

Thank you everyone for making my stay so memorable.

What a wonderful care home this is. From the moment you go through the front doors, you are greeted with polite friendly staff, a lovely 'homely' feeling, and ALWAYS so beautifully clean and fresh.
Lots of different areas to sit down, relax, spend time with loved ones overlooking the well kept gardens whilst you are visiting.
Beautiful dining areas, with top quality meals.

Theres always a range of activities going on in the home, something to suit everyone if they choose to join in.

Review of Leycester House from Paul B (Son of Resident) published on 10 July 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

My 101 year old mother, who is registered blind, had a two week respite break at Leycester House and received excellent care and attention whilst she was there. The staff were very kind to her and accommodating of the fact she did not have the same mobility as other residents and needed extra help due to her lack of eyesight. It was very reassuring to me to know she was in good hands whilst I was away and could not assist her in the usual way. I could see an improvement in her appearance and demeanour after the two weeks which is testament to the standards at the Care Home. I should certainly suggest someone looking for a high quality home for a relative considers the Leycester.

Review of Badminton Place from Caroline S (Daughter of Resident) published on 2 June 2026 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience

The care that my mum has received since moving into Badminton Place has been faultless. To quote Mums own words "if they asked me I couldn't make one suggestion of anything that they could change". She was worried about having to go into a home but she loves it there and is genuinely really happy there. It is also a lovely environment for us as her family - we are also treated exceptionally well as are all of her visitors. They really live what they promote which is "treat this as your home we are all about family".

Reply from Chip, Commercial manager at Badminton Place

It truly means the world to us to hear that your mum feels so happy, settled and at home here at Badminton Place. Badminton Place has proved a wonderful environment for my dad. The care, activities, staff, and all that it offers has provided a safe, stimulating, caring enviroment which my dad has settled into fantastically. His dementia is calmer due to the constant company and daily life in a busier, friendly establishment where he has constant care, companionship and stimulation. I have nothing but praise.

Our father was a resident of the home for 18 months, he was incredibly well taken care of by the staff who are friendly and caring. The food is good and there are daily activities for the residents, along with a bistro for visiting and a nice garden area. The staff were very compassionate after our father passed and couldn't have done more for our family. Would thoroughly recommend for a loved one needing care.

Review of Shinfield View from Marie E (Daughter of Resident) published on 20 May 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

From the moment my father moved into Shinfield View in August 2025 during a very challenging time for his health, the care he has received has been nothing short of exceptional. As I don't live nearby, I rely heavily on the team to support his care and wellbeing.

The improvement in him over the past few months has been remarkable. He has gone from rarely engaging to actively participating in daily life, making the most of activities and outings.

What stands out most is the team themselves - kind, compassionate, and genuinely invested in every resident. They take the time to understand the little things that matter, like Dad's love of afternoon tea and fruitcake. Recently he's enjoyed trips out, time in the allotment, and quiz nights, which has made such a difference to his quality of life.

As a family, we have complete peace of mind knowing he is safe, happy, and so well cared for. Thank you to the entire Shinfield View team-we are incredibly grateful.

Review of Shinfield View from D E (Daughter of Resident) published on 19 May 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

Dad has been living here for some time, and our experience has been consistently positive. The staff are kind, patient, and genuinely caring, taking the time to understand him as an individual. They pay close attention to personal likes and dislikes and make a real effort to accommodate them, which brings comfort and familiarity.

There's a wide range of entertainment and activities designed to suit different interests and abilities. Residents are encouraged to join in but never pressured, and the team always makes participation enjoyable.

The staff take health and wellbeing very seriously. When Dad has experienced health difficulties, the team respond with professionalism, calm, and clear expertise, keeping us informed and ensuring he feels safe and supported.

The team at Shinfield View goes the extra mile to make the environment feel like home, and knowing Dad is surrounded by people who genuinely care and show such respect means so much.

Mum resided at Portobello Place for 4 and a half years. During this time she felt part of the "family" with wonderful care and loving attention from the staff. She was treated with kindness and respect, which was important for someone who still had a good degree of independence. Mum loved the events, particularly the singers, speakers, dancers and musicians, which really lifted her spirits and she fully took part!

My mum was so lucky to have had a weeks respite care at Badminton Place. The ambience hits you immediately you enter the building. Its lovely + warm and the staff without exception are so welcoming and nothing was too much trouble for them. The meals were excellent and we were able to join mum for them (and a free bar!) If we wished too. The facilities were great. Mum could have joined in with lots of different activities. Plus hairdressing was available together with chiropody and a nail bar. I really would recommend Badminton Place to anyone who has care needs of any description for any period of time and whose family want to ensure that they will be really well looked after. My grateful thanks to all who cared for mum during her stay. It really is like a 5 star hotel.
