The overall experience rating is based on an appointment my father had not attended due to the care home system.
We did have a meeting about this and it was confirmed there was an error and also that the system in place needed to be updated.

My father is very happy at the care home and he is treated with lots of love and care.
The staff that interact with him daily know him very well and adhere to his needs, although he would benefit from physio support.

Things to improve would be to ensure that he always is dressed appropriately

when leaving the care home, to wear shoes as he often comes out in his slippers and without sufficient cardigans/jackets.

If unable to reach either daughter, can you please leave a voice message or send an email and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

I have marked down the value for money as the blanket annual 10% increases is definietly worrying us as a family as this is not in line with my fathers annual income.

Reply from Martina De Vizia, Home Manager at Autumn GardensThank you very much for taking the time to leave such a thoughtful and balanced review. We are delighted to hear that your father is happy with us and feels cared for and understood by our team. It means a great deal to know that our staff have built a strong relationship with him and are attentive to his individual needs.

Thank you also for your constructive feedback. Your comments regarding appropriate clothing when leaving the home have been shared with the care team, and we will ensure greater attention is given to footwear and outerwear. We have also noted your communication preferences and will remind the team to leave voicemail messages or send emails if we are unable to reach either daughter.

With regard to physiotherapy support and fees, we understand your concerns and appreciate you raising them. We would welcome the opportunity to discuss these matters with you directly.

Thank you again for your feedback and for entrusting us with your father's care.

I would like to share that our mum is very happy at Autumn Gardens.
Much praise to the carers work, they all work very hard, and mum tells me that they are very attentive.
Last month we celebrated mum's birthday, 92 years young, along with other residents who also celebrated March birthdays. It was
a lovely gathering, the care home laid on food & drinks & birthday cakes for everyone & there was much dancing and fun had by all.
Reply from Martina De Vizia, Home Manager at Autumn GardensWe appreciate your kind words! We're so happy to know that mum is having a positive experience with us and enjoys our birthday parties. Your feedback motivates us to continue providing excellent service.

Facing the decision that I could no longer cope with his care and needs, I began the search for a suitable nursing home. Articles suggest what to look for, are the staff friendly and welcoming, has the management team been in post for some time, do the residents look happy and well-cared for, is the
home clean? Autumn Gardens was a big tick on all counts, and remains so nearly one year on. Both he and I are treated and welcomed as family members. Food is fresh cooked on the premises, considers his needs and declining health. Events where family members are invited to dine are a joy. As well as the team at Autumn Gardens they access excellent health care services, who regularly review the resident, request any necessary health tests and appointments. Care staff and managers communicate regularly with us, reviewing and changing his care routine as appropriate.
I am thankful I found Autumn Gardens, knowing he has the best of care.

My husband has been residing at Autumn Gardens for the past 2 years. He looks always clean, and he says that he has been treated very well. I sometimes visit my husband at lunchtime, and I notice that food looks good and appropriate for his condition.
Staff and carers are always polite and friendly.
My husband is offered activities that he can enjoy and I can look at what he has done in the photo album they keep.
I am pleased to see the home looks always clean and their garden are very well maintained. The residents are taken out to the garden when the weather is good.
I am very pleased with the service and care that my husband receives at Autumn Gardens.

I want to say a very big thank you to everyone at Autumn Gardens for how well you look after my Mother, I honestly have so much gratitude for the hard work that goes in to ensuring all residence are safe, clean and have the most dignified experience possible!
Autumn Gardens is extremely clean, they
always ensure the residents have as many home comforts as possible and make every effort to put a smiles on their faces everyday such as all the fantastic entertainment and activities they have on ensuring all residents family members know what's going on via E-mail as well as having leaflets with all of the information! They really do try to bring out the best in every resident! Whenever I've had any concerns regarding my mother that I wish to discuss the staff are always helpful and do everything possible to help! In my opinion it's safe to say it is a place that offers fantastic care with staff members that really do their job professionally and are so caring!!

Amazing staff and friendly.
Went to visit my Grandad who has dementia, I can tell he is being well looked after. I only hear negative reviews of care homes but I have to say I was extremely impressed with Autumn Gardens.

My father has been a resident at Autumn Gardens since October 2017. He has dementia and is 87 years old.

He is very happy there and is very well looked after. I visit him twice a week and he is always clean and smartly dressed. He has a lovely room and all the staff are so friendly and look after

him so well. He loves the food there and I am always kept updated with his progress regarding health issues.

Current Review Score: 9.1 (9.067)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.1 (9.067) out of 10 for Autumn Gardens is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 9 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.2 out of 5 from 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.838 for Autumn Gardens is calculated as follows: ( (89 Excellents x 5) + (15 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 105 Ratings = 4.838
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.229 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Autumn Gardens is based on 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 = 3.7
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 85 registered maximum number of service users is 17. 9 Positive Reviews ÷ 17 = 0.529
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
