1 Faringdon Avenue, Harold Hill, Romford RM3 8SJ
Faringdon Lodge Residential Care Home caters for older people 65+ living with dementia.
The focus is on maintaining independence, and encouragement enabling residents to participate fully in their admission, proposed care plan and the running of the home. This will be by way of regular residents’ meetings and one-to-one communication. Families are also encouraged to participate.
Breakfast at the care home is available for residents at whatever time the resident requests it, be it at 5am or 11am. Regular hot and cold drinks as well as snacks and fresh fruit is available during the day. Although the main meal of the day is usually served at lunch time, it may also be served in the evening should the client request it.
At tea time there is always a hot and cold choice of meals, however, clients are free to make another choice should they wish to.
Links have been forged with the local community, including schools, churches and places of worship. Regular external entertainers visit the home, and where possible trips are made to local shops and places of interest. Regular theme nights are held (Indian, Chinese, Mexican) as well as quiz nights with cheese and wine. In the summer, a fete and barbecue is held.
