Nettlestead has deliberately focused on quality rather than quantity, remaining small enough for everybody to know each other, and their clients and their families love it.

Instead of providing care as it has always been done, the owners of Nettlestead asked what they would want from a care home, and the results are what set them apart. Complementary quality wine and sherry, en-suite toilets and baths that you would be delighted...

We can’t thank the amazing ladies at Nettlestead enough. Unfortunately, Mum wasn’t there for very long, but the care and kindness they gave her to the end was second to none, as well as looking after us!

My mum was in there for four weeks for respite care after a hospital stay. My mum just loved her time there and was reluctant to leave, the staff were absolutely brilliant and made a big fuss of Mum which gave me total peace of mind and also made all her visitors very welcome. Also great support from management.

I spent two weeks convalescing in this wonderful care home after two days in hospital having a hip operation. This has been my only experience of a care home. My consultant said I needed two weeks of rest and relaxation and I couldn't have asked for better. My room was bright, very clean and comfortable with a nice bed, TV, en suite adequate storage space and chair for visitors. The en suite was very clean and had adequate soap, towels, flannels and call alert. The staff were very friendly and caring and happy to respond promptly if I needed to call them using the call button. Meals were delicious, very adequate portions and brought to my room when I needed. Also, additional cups of tea or whatever I needed were cheerfully brought to my room. The communal dining room and sitting room were comfortable and decorative and again 'waitress service!' The garden is a delight, quiet and restful and with more than adequate seating. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this lovely care home.

It's always very difficult for a son to visit his mother in a care home. However, I walk in to Nettlestead to be greeted by the kind, compassionate and hard working staff. On visiting Mum in her beautiful, clean, spacious room, we often wander down to the quiet garden and watch the nature there and have a general natter. Mum always takes me (or us when visiting with wife/grandchildren) to the lounge to say hello to the residents. They are all such good friends. Recently, they had a visit to Greenwich Park which looked fantastic. I can honestly say from two years ago of getting our mother into residential care, I can not believe how happy she is in her 'new' home. She looks so well and eats three square meals per day (in the beautiful, newly renovated dining room). The manager's door is always open and the staff feedback is always good. There is always a listening ear towards your needs/concerns. Always a pleasure to visit and we still have to take the offer up on lunch there some day.

My dad was at Nettlestead and received excellent care, therefore when my mum needed additional support and care Nettlestead was the first and only place I contacted. The care my mum receives is outstanding. The staff are amazing and they really care about the residents. The home is clean and my mum's room is lovely and overlooks a large, well cared for garden. The food is prepared and cooked on the premises and is of a high standard. There are regular activities for the residents to take part in, including regular singers and armchair yoga. When we visit we are always made to feel very welcome. I know my mum is well cared for and receives the attention and care she needs. I highly recommend Nettlestead Care home.

We were very pleased to be recommended Nettlestead Care Home. From the moment we walked through the door to view the home we felt that this was the right home for our mum. The staff were so friendly, formative and helpful.
She has a nice room overlooking the beautiful garden.
Our mum has been in the home for nearly a year now and she has settled in really well. The staff are so caring and kind and you are always made to feel welcome when you visit. It is such a relief to know that our mum has 24-hour care. There are plenty of activities for the residents to do and Mum especially enjoys the singer, who comes along and sings some of her favourite songs.

Our mum recently had her birthday and I think it was a nice touch that the cook made her a beautiful birthday cake, it was delicious. We are very pleased that we chose Nettlestead Care Home for our Mum.

My mum has been in Nettlestead for over a year now, and I have always found all the staff very friendly, caring and professional. The home is well maintained, very clean, and has a lovely garden and lots of activities for the residents. The food is always freshly cooked and of high quality. The care staff are always able to update me regarding how my mum has been since my last visit.

I couldn't recommend Nettlestead highly enough.

Mum has been at Nettlestead for 7 years and has always been looked after beautifully despite challenges with mum’s condition.
The staff are Mum's extended family now. I can’t praise Nettlestead highly enough.

My father passed away 2 1/2 years ago and mum had been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and then had a fall and we were advised to put her into 24 hour care. She went into Nettlestead about a month before lockdown and they’ve looked after her so well since then. They have lots of activities, great food, lovely accommodation and garden, and the staff are just superb! The communication with family has been great so we always know how Mum is doing. They are proactive rather than reactive and seem to be on top of things at all times. Mum is very happy there, and it’s very reassuring to all of us that she’s being looked after so well! We are delighted with the care she gets.

Our mother has just returned home from a 5 week period of respite care at Nettlestead Care Home. The Nightingale home care team have been supporting our mother enabling her to continue to live in her own home, despite advancing dementia, for the last year. Following a fall, and a spell in hospital a period of residential care was needed to ensure our mother was fully recovered and able to live in her own home again. The manager of the home care service put us in touch with the manager of Nettlestead Care Home and in less than 24 hours respite care was arranged for our mother including dealing with the arrangements for her discharge from hospital. The care provided for our mother by the team at Nettlestead was excellent and although confused our mother said she had a lovely room, the food was great and the staff couldn't have been more caring and attentive. We would have no hesitation in recommending Nettlestead Care Home to anyone looking for high-quality residential care.

My brothers and I couldn’t be happier with the loving care our dad receives at Nettlestead. We were nervous about him living in a care home but it was no longer possible for us to manage his daily care at home. Nettlestead has been a delight! Dad has a comfortable room, delicious food, a lovely big garden to take daily walks and the care he receives from all the staff is beyond what we could have hoped for. It’s been such a weight off our minds to know he’s cared for so well and that he’s happy and settled. Thank you Nettlestead!

The care provided at Nettlestead is outstanding, everything that could be wished for, whether for yourself or a family member. The staff are thoughtful, responsive, warm and friendly as well as being thoroughly professional. They have managed the current pandemic with skill and incredible hard work as well as creativity and kindness. Their communication with residents and families is brilliant and there have been regular updates and responses to new developments. I cannot recommend too highly.

I cannot speak highly enough of the level of care at Nettlestead. From the moment my mother-in-law moved in, she has had a wonderful experience. All the staff are cheerful, friendly and positive. They genuinely care about the residents personally and want to enable them to live the best life possible. They create a sunny, optimistic atmosphere, which rubs off on the residents. The facilities, food, activities programme and support services you get at Nettlestead are exceptional, but it is really the staff that make it such a special place. We have been particularly impressed and thankful for the way they have coped with the Covid-19 crisis, keeping all residents safe and well. Thank you for taking such good care of my mother-in-law.
