The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Anchor Lodge Dementia Care Home is based on 12 positive Reviews in the last 12 months and is calculated as follows:

The staff have been so good at dealing with and caring for my mum. A worry has been lifted from our shoulders.
My mum has Dementia but she said that is happy here even throughout all the confusion.
I know the staff have had their work cut out as my mother, on occasions can be hard work but the staff are always cheery and nothing is too much trouble.
Thank you all.

Grandad's stay has been amazing, he came to the home never wanting to be in residential, but he has had a total change of heart. The house is lovely and the staff are amazing. Nothing is too much, all very very friendly, kind and helpful. Always listen and very caring to all.
I would have no hesitation in returning with grandad for respite as I know he will have an enjoyable time whilst here.

I consider the standard of care at Anchor Lodge to be of a very high standard.
The ratio of residents to staff is excellent, the standard of care is outstanding.
The staff go out of their way and ensure that each resident's needs are individually catered for.
I would highly recommend Anchor Lodge.

My mother (aged 99) went for a four-day holiday to Anchor Lodge. Brought up by the sea and now living in a care home in central London she was craving the sea. On our daily visits to her in London, she asked repeatedly if we were going to the beach. I found Anchor Lodge on-line and called to discuss. They were very happy to arrange a short stay and liaised with her London care home to make it work. So I rented a caravan nearby and my mother stayed in Anchor Lodge. It has everything we were hoping for. Location: spectacular sea views, 50 yards from the beach. Staff: warm, friendly, kind and professional care. Ambience: a lovely 'homey' feel. Residents: most welcoming. All in all my mother loved it there. I'm expecting a 'when are we going to the beach?' question to continue and now I know I have somewhere that I can take her.

This home is the best in the area. My cousin has been in the home for 4-years and there is no fault ever. It's a home from home. Fresh food and cake cooked on the premises, varied to resident's tastes. All staff are wonderful. There are never any nasty smells, always fresh and clean. We visit at any time. Staff take them to church, doctors, dentists, etc, nothing is too much trouble. My daughter's mother-in-law was here for 6 years and all of the above was the same for her and all other residents. A small home only 13 in total. Totally wonderful.

I am writing to express how pleased I am with my mothers care at Anchor Lodge, I cannot fault the way she has been cared for. She is always clean and tidy. The care the manager and her staff gave mum is second to none. The meals at Anchor Lodge are excellent and it is very homely care home and my mother is always happy.

The home is in light, clean surroundings, no suggestion of institutional living, an appetising smell of cooking from the kitchen. When my mum arrived, she was very weak, underweight and confused. She put on weight prompted to drink plenty of fluids and in her own way is quite content with her new life. The carers here were lovely, everyone is treated as an individual, well looked after and very well fed. We 'her family outside' are more than pleased for having found a nice place for our mum, grandma and great grandma.

My grandmother, since she was here, has a lovely clean room. She is always clean and well presented. She enjoyed her hair and nails being done at Anchor Lodge but she is not a great one for mixing with others, through choice by her. Would I recommend Anchor Lodge to anyone......absolutely.

Anchor Lodge is a small and very homely place. My mum always seems very happy to be there. The thing which always hits you as you enter Anchor Lodge, is the lovely smell of food cooking whenever we visit and the menu is always varied and interesting. Staff are very welcoming and always update us on anything relating to mums care and activity. I would not hesitate to recommend Anchor Lodge to anyone.

My mum is very happy at Anchor Lodge. Staff show nothing but kindness and respect in view of her dementia. She is always nicely dressed and her hair is looking nice (regularly shampoo and set).
And we couldn't want for a better place to be overlooking the sea and with such a homely feel. The staff are excellent in their job, keeping the residents laughing, happy and content.

Overall the home is really good and the staff are very nice. It never smells when you go there. It could do with a bit of DIY but this could be down to funding. Lovely view, right opposite the beach, with a sea view.

I volunteered here and was extremely impressed by the staff and the lovely home. The seafront views from some rooms are stunning. When I was there, I helped out at a lovely BBQ which had great food and friendly residents. Overall this is a nice friendly place, with great staff and some lovely residents.

My friend was placed here at the start of this year and she's become a different person, happier, more social and content. This is because the care at Anchor Lodge has been fantastic. I visit on a weekly basis and I see that staff are friendly, attentive and smiling. The quality of the food is excellent and the location on the sea-front is uplifting and can be seen from the home. Highly recommended.

My Wife was here for many years before she passed away. It's a small home where everybody knows everybody else and its very homely, welcoming and friendly. She had her own big seafront room and she used to enjoy living there.
I can't fault the staff. They were lovely, caring and everyone is like a big family. They can't do enough to make you happy. The food is good and they have no problem with residents animals staying as well which was a big thing.
