Dad has been quite agitated at times because he has never been restricted. I fully understand why he is not able to leave the home unattended but I also understand his frustration. The staff have also been understanding in this and have managed to settle him.

My husband resided in Blenheim House Care Home for eight months and the care from staff was above and beyond.
Nothing was too much trouble. They helped me to sort out and source aspects of care needs that he required.
I was extremely happy with his care.

The manager of this home I feel goes above and beyond to ensure the residents come first.
Whenever we visit everything is not only so clean but also homely. I know that my mum is getting exceptional care in the home and I don't have to be stressed about her.

I think it's common knowledge that Blenheim House had some managerial problems in the past and that the home wasn't running in the manner that we all expected but then, the new manager appeared!
Since her arrival and her staff rallying to her leadership, the home is now exemplary and I would have no
qualms of recommending it to anyone who had loved ones in need of care.

Mum was admitted to Blenheim House unable to walk and very poor appetite, with the help and encouragement of the staff Mum soon flourished. I found the staff at all times treated Mum as though she was the only resident. Nothing was too much trouble. The love and attention they showed Mum was beyond
anything we could have wished for. Mum loved both the staff and the home, she always said home good the food was, always cooked from fresh. At Mum's death, all the staff showed great compassion and dignity for both Mum and me and my husband, we were by Mum's side as she passed away. The staff always made us feel very welcome when we visited Mum. We both said if in later life we had to go into a home we would hope it's like Blenheim. A big thank you to all the staff.

My mum is in the care of Blenheim House for a short period of time. I think the staff do a grand job caring for the elderly. When I visit, I notice at times that the carers are very stretched at times and they really have their work cut out.

My wife and I have found the home to be very comfortable for my Mother in law.
We can see that she is very well cared for both day and night.
All the staff are very kind and treat her with consideration and respect at all times.
The home lay on regular entertainment often twice a week, which my
Mother in law really enjoys.
She tells us that all the meals are lovely with a good choice.
Thank you to all at Blenheim House.

My father was only here at Blenheim for a short time but was always treated with care and consideration. We found all the staff from the manager through to the cleaning staff are always friendly and helpful.
The carers were excellent, treating my father with dignity and dealing with his many needs,
especially towards the end of his life, with consideration. Thank you to you all.

My Mother has been a resident of Blenheim House since early January 2018. During her stay she seems to have settled in very well and appears to have made a number of friends amongst other residents and staff. Due to my Mothers dementia condition she needs constant reassurance and kindness by staff,
which I can tell she gets 24/7 in a warm, friendly environment provided by all the staff and manager at Blenheim House.

The home is clean and tidy and the staff are very helpful and happy and always interacting with the residents. The manager is polite and always there to talk and provides the home with different activities for all the residents.
My mother-in-law is very happy living there and always looks clean and
tidy. They always have home cooked food and a balanced diet which is excellent. That's what my mother-in-law likes and a good variety of food and drink.

I visit my nan on a regular basis at Blenheim House. She always seems happy and only says good things about the home, staff and meals that always look amazing. She compliments the activities as they always seem to do things my nan likes to do. Personal experience with the home staff and manager are
that the home is well led and the staff always seem to be happy. I like the fact that the staff appear to have worked at the home for a while and it is nice to see familiar faces on every visit - Keep up the good work.

Current Review Score: 9.6 (9.641)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.6 (9.641) out of 10 for Blenheim House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.6 out of 5 from 33 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 33 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.641 for Blenheim House is calculated as follows: ( (272 Excellents x 5) + (80 Goods x 4) + (18 Satisfactorys x 3) + (5 Poors x 2) + (1 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 376 Ratings = 4.641
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Blenheim House is based on 33 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 57 registered maximum number of service users is 11.4, which has been reached with 33 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Registered Manager Joined: 2011

I have been a member of the team at Blenheim House since 2011, I started as a care assistant which I really loved. I've always enjoyed being hands on with the residents. I then moved into the administration department. This gave me a great experience and knowledge of the accounting system. I then took on the role as deputy manager. This was in preparation of becoming the manager. I became the manager in April 2024. I love the fact that I have progressed through the ranks in the care home that I regard as my home. I have recently completed my NVQ level 5 with a distinction. I am very proud and honoured to have been given the opportunity to manage Blenheim House and hope that I can bring all my experiences together now to create a positive and well managed home for my residents and staff.
