Located in the picturesque seaside town of Barton-on-Sea, Bethel House provides a happy and welcoming home for residents. The home was refurbished in 2016 and has a number of comfortable communal areas and bedrooms, giving the home a cosy and happy atmosphere where residents can reach their full potential.

Bethel House has secluded, accessible gardens where residents can spend time relaxing or catching up with friends and family. The home is easily accessible by major road networks, making visits easy and convenient for loved ones, while still retaining peace and tranquillity.

Fully inclusive meals can be enjoyed in the dining area and video calling is available to keep in touch with loved ones. In addition to this, Bethel House offer a hairdressing salon for all residents and an all inclusive laundry service is provided.

Residents are encouraged to lead the lifestyle of their choice and are treated with respect and dignity. Care is tailored to individual needs and residents can participate in any activities they wish to, or none if this is preferred.

Mum and dad came to live at Bethel House in 2021, when they could no longer cope at home due to ill health, dad in heart failure with severe hearing loss and mum with advanced Alzheimers.
By the time we lost dad in Feb 2024 and mum in June 2025 the care home had become a second home and the staff like
friends. Both my parents' needs were so different, but the care home did everything it could to help them spend their final years together as a couple, for which I am grateful.
The meals are good and the activities plentiful and whilst residents do have many complex needs, they are treated with dignity and care.

Dad was diagnosed with dementia in 2015 and has been looked after at Bethel House for the past 6 years. The staff are professional, kind and compassionate,:nothing is too much trouble. There are excellent activities daily, the rooms and overall environment is cheerful and the food is excellent. I have
often been asked to recommend a care home over the past few years and never had any hesitation in recommending Bethel House. Dementia is a horrible disease and to know that your loved ones are being looked after with care and compassion at least gives comfort that you are doing all that you can.

My sister in law has been a resident for 6 months. The care, kindness, individuality and professionalism has been excellent. Staff welcome visitors with a smile and friendly persona irrespective of the time of day or day of the week. I have been in a number of care homes. Bethel House is top of my list.

My mother had been a resident for 10 months prior to her passing. She had advanced dementia at admission and was very frightened about needing care but all the staff made her transition from her own home to Bethel House a positive and enriching experience. She settled very quickly and enjoyed all the
activities, food and making new friends
All the staff are so friendly and professional, recognising her individual needs. Her end-of-life care was kind and thoughtful and made a difficult time much more bearable.
Highly recommend both the environment and especially the team.

All the staff at Bethel House, without exception, go above and beyond what is expected. My husband is happy here and well looked after, if I did have any questions they would be answered, truthfully and with understanding. This is not the first care home my husband has been in and exceeds all my expectations
and far outshines the others. Everywhere is extremely clean and the staff are always looking to find themselves busy and helpful.

Dad reluctantly moved into Bethel House in January this year. The Bethel staff and residents are a close-knit family who happily took him into their hearts. The staff are so caring, providing for the needs of the residents with dignity and respect. They ensure their safety and provide an impressive
programme of activities and entertainment, which includes a daily dose of singing - which is, by far, dad's favourite activity, if he is not found eating the great choice of home-cooked food. Last month, we celebrated Dad's 84th birthday and the chef made an impressive cake and the staff and residents all came to sing to him. He was very overwhelmed.
Dad has settled well into the Bethel family and he can often be found happily chatting to everyone who will listen. As a family, we can't thank the Bethel staff enough for caring for Dad. It means everything.

Mum first moved here on 31st July. I was worried about the sudden move, that she wouldn't settle but after a few days, she did with the help of all the friendly staff. The home cook gorgeous meals and my mum being a fussy eater, eats everything now. The care home provides very good activities and puts
on lots of parties through the summer months. I'm always offered coffee and the cakes are delicious. From what I've seen over the last three months, I have been extremely happy, 100%.

Mum has been at Bethel House now for a good 18 months, and I have been very impressed with all aspects of Mum's care. The staff are all so caring and create a positive attitude with the residents.
I am really impressed with the entertainment and activities that run - such a variety.

I would just like to say that my husband has been in Bethel House since January 2024 and in all that time the care staff have been wonderful despite him not always being cooperative and in the best humour. The house is always clean and tidy and there is always something going on for the residents if
they want to join in. When I visit I have always been welcomed with a smile and very often one of the carers stops to have a chat. I don't know how the staff cope day after day and keep smiling and are 'friends' to all the residents.

The manager and carers at Bethel House are extremely caring and really want to provide a happy environment for their residents. They are full of smiles towards my mother and the atmosphere has become really welcoming for visitors too. Housekeeping are brilliant... Mum's room is very clean. The food
is really good and the entertainment staff have some great ideas. They all work as a whole team which means that anyone and everyone takes care of my mum. I would recommend Bethel House!

It was my first visit to Bethel House and was most impressed with all the staff, how they handled the residents when they had a problem. It was happy and lots of fun, so clean and welcoming. Ido hope I will get the chance to visit again and will recommend Bethel House to my friends.

Having taken some time to get used to life in a care home, my partner is now settled and has adapted to his new life. Throughout some challenging times, he has been helped, reassured and comforted, also treated with respect by many of the staff at Bethel House, many of the staff at Bethel House who

This care home is very well run by the manager. The staff employed really are very lovely, smiley and caring. I truly believe the people employed absolutely do their best and are genuinely caring people. Rooms are kept spotlessly clean by staff and the food is becoming better and better all the time.
Nowhere
is the same as being in your own home, but when that is not possible Bethel House is a nice place to be.

My mother has been happy and relaxed in Bethel House. The environment is ideal for my mother. She is happy with her room and likes the food. I think the program of activities is excellent giving the residents a variation on their day. My mother is well looked after, having her hair done every week.
She also likes having her nails done. Personal care is extremely important and my mother often comments on the care she has received.

The carers and staff at Bethel House have been excellent in the care and attention given to our aunt who suffered from dementia. Our aunt was at Behtel House for more than 6 years and was happy throughout her stay. It is always difficult to choose a care home for a loved one but we are glad we chose
Bethel House. It was a very good choice.

My overall rating is good (as opposed to excellent) because my dad hasn't been there for more than 3 months. Bethal House has a very homely and welcoming atmosphere. Nothing is too much trouble - I cannot praise everyone who works there enough. They do an amazing job day in and day out. My father is
very happy, comfortable and well cared for at Bethal House which means the world to him and his family.

When I was looking for a place to live I looked at several nice places but Bethel house has all the things that I liked. My room is well situated looking out at a very nice garden. I told my daughter this is as good as it gets. I have settled and just love it here.

I am proud to have joined Bethel House. It is important to me that the residents, their families and the staff team feel welcome, cared for and supported to enable them to build good relationships and happy memories for the future.


We will be working together to support the residents' sensory needs to enable them to have a holistic well-being while living in our home, by encouraging them to be involved in the social community of the home at the same time encouraging them to remain as independent as they are able to.
