Reviews

9.6 Bethel House has a Review Score of 9.6 (9.564)

The Review Score of 9.6 (maximum of 10) for Bethel House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.6 out of 5 from 13 Reviews over all time. This Average Rating is also the rating value for Bethel House in Google's Search Results - more info

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5 out of 5 from 7 positive Reviews in the last 12 months.

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating of all Reviews over all time. For each review the Care Home / service is rated Excellent, Good, Satisfactory, Poor or Very Poor on a number of areas eg Staff, Management etc. The Care Home receives points for each rating as follows: Excellent = 5. Good = 4. Satisfactory = 3. Poor = 2. Very Poor = 1. These points are added up and then divided by the total number of completed ratings to generate the average rating.

    The Average Rating of 4.564 for Bethel House is calculated as follows: ( (93 Excellents x 5) + (58 Goods x 4) + (5 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 156 Ratings = 4.564

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 12 months. If there are no Positive Reviews in the last 12 months, then 2.5 points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 2 years. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with 'Extremely Likely' or 'Likely' in answer to the question 'How likely are you to recommend this Care Home to friends and family if they needed similar care or treatment?'

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 5 Positive Reviews, 3 points for the first Positive Review and then 0.25 Points for each of the next 4 Positive Reviews.

    2. 1 point is available for reaching a target number of Positive Reviews based on 20% of the number of registered maximum number of service users. If the target is partially reached then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home with 50 registered maximum number of service users has a target of 10 Positive Reviews, if it has 10 or more Positive Reviews it will receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews will receive 0.7 points.

    3. If there are no Positive Reviews in the last 12 months, then 2.5 points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 2 years. The calculation is the same as above, except the points are divided by 2.

The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Bethel House is based on 7 positive Reviews in the last 12 months and is calculated as follows:

    1. 3 + 0.25 + 0.25 + 0.25 + 0.25 = 4

    2. Target of 6 positive Reviews (30 registered maximum number of service users ÷ 5). 7 Reviews ÷ 6 Target Reached = 1

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

Since my father has been in the care of Bethel House, my family and I have been very impressed. We feel he is very well looked after an cared for. If they have any concerns, they are quick to pick up the phone and communicate, this we feel is very efficient and not always the case in this sort of home. When we go to visit, we are always offered a drink etc too, always nice as makes it feel home from home.
As a mother of young children, they have always been welcomed too, which makes life a lot easier. The manager is always happy to discuss things too, which again is lovely.
All round a positive environment.

Mum recently moved into Bethel House as she is no longer able to live independently. All the staff are excellent, always friendly and welcoming and the residents are treated with kindness and consideration.

The food is good and the rooms are clean and tidy. Knowing mum is being well cared for helps give our family peace of mind.

My partner had been there for a year, he was well looked after, well fed and staff were lovely. Really homely and not too big. Staff get to know all the residents. Would have been pleased for him to stay longer but he, unfortunately, died this week.

The family considers itself extremely lucky to have found Bethel House for the care of our family member. Whilst condition was stable for a long time (past 3 years) now however, the situation is changing and more problems have arisen. Bethel House and the staff have always given the duty of care necessary and gone over and beyond to help improve the quality of life whilst the health problems worsen.

More recently in the past 6 months, the locality improvements are to be highly applauded It is such a cheerful and attractive environment now to enter into when visiting. The residents must surely benefit from the lovely decor now present.

Whilst sometimes upon finishing a visit one could feel sad at the situation - at the same time one is comforted by the knowledge that everything possible that can be done to improve the care of one's relative will be done.

Thank you Bethel House for all you do.

I have been really happy with the way my mum is cared for at the home. She is happy and has settled well. She chats to staff and residents. I know that she joins in with activities as the carers are able to tell me about it and I see pictures in the newsletters. Staff are always welcoming when I visit and readily tell me when I need to know anything and I feel that they are very approachable.

We have 2 relatives at Bethel House, both suffer from Dementia at different levels. We are happy as we know that they are both safe and happy living together at Bethel House. The staff are friendly and caring. There is no high turnover of staff, which makes things much more settled for the Residents. We believe the success of Bethel House is down to the caring attitude of the staff and the management team. The manager has been excellent but is moving from Bethel House at the end of March, we wish her well and hope that an equally able manager is appointed shortly.

Mum has been at Bethel House for 5 years. In that time, she has been treated win respect and dignity even when her behaviour due to dementia is challenging. Staff are friendly and find time to get to know each resident and relatives.
While extensive building work was carried out at Bethel House, it was noticeable that more agency staff were being employed - but this has now improved.

My husband moved into Bethel House in February 2016 as he suffers with dementia and he wanted to stay safe as I was no longer able to look after him. Staff are excellent at Bethel House and the manager is always there to help on the phone if I need her. I am very happy that my husband lives in Bethel House.

Job Title: Home Manager

Description:

My name is Agnieszka Gierek. I was appointed Home Manager of Bethel House in May 2017, which I was absolutely delighted and excited about.

I became part of the Hartford Care family in December 2014, as a Head of Care at Woodlands House. At this time I had eight years’ experience in the health and social care sector. In May 2015 an opportunity arose to become a Deputy Manager at Abbotswood Court (A home which is no longer managed by Hartford Care). I relished the opportunity to be part of a commissioning team, and to create and bring to life a vision.

In October 2016 I was delighted to re-join Hartford Care and take on role as Deputy Manager of West Cliff Hall Nursing Home. I have greatly enjoyed the challenge of assisting to manage a nursing team, as well as develop further knowledge of more complex residents.

I have completed my Diploma in Health and Social Care level 3, and 5. I have also completed my Diploma level 2 in Management and Leadership. I became a Dementia Trainer and delivered the training to staff.

I thoroughly enjoy working for Hartford Care and being able to emphasise the ethos: Care, Comfort and Companionship. As above all else, I believe I am an extremely caring, and passionate person. I am very much looking forward to work at Bethel House with great, caring and enthusiastic staff, to deliver the best and very unique care to all our residents.

I love to lead and inspire the team to ensure residents live their life the way they wish. I like engaging and motivating people and love watching team members develop and succeed.
