Overview

The Review Score of 9.6 (maximum of 10) for Woodside Lodge is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.5 out of 5 from 9 Reviews over all time. This Average Rating is also the rating value for Woodside Lodge in Google's Search Results - more info

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5 out of 5 from 6 positive Reviews in the last 12 months.

Detailed Breakdown

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating of all Reviews over all time. For each review the Care Home / service is rated Excellent, Good, Satisfactory, Poor or Very Poor on a number of areas eg Staff, Management etc. The Care Home receives points for each rating as follows: Excellent = 5. Good = 4. Satisfactory = 3. Poor = 2. Very Poor = 1. These points are added up and then divided by the total number of completed ratings to generate the average rating.

    The Average Rating of 4.551 for Woodside Lodge is calculated as follows: ( (63 Excellents x 5) + (40 Goods x 4) + (4 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 107 Ratings = 4.551

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 12 months. If there are no Positive Reviews in the last 12 months, then 2.5 points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 2 years. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with 'Extremely Likely' or 'Likely' in answer to the question 'How likely are you to recommend this Care Home to friends and family if they needed similar care or treatment?'

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 5 Positive Reviews, 3 points for the first Positive Review and then 0.25 Points for each of the next 4 Positive Reviews.

    2. 1 point is available for reaching a target number of Positive Reviews based on 20% of the number of registered maximum number of service users. If the target is partially reached then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home with 50 registered maximum number of service users has a target of 10 Positive Reviews, if it has 10 or more Positive Reviews it will receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews will receive 0.7 points.

    3. If there are no Positive Reviews in the last 12 months, then 2.5 points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 2 years. The calculation is the same as above, except the points are divided by 2.

The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Woodside Lodge is based on 6 positive Reviews in the last 12 months and is calculated as follows:

    1. 3 + 0.25 + 0.25 + 0.25 + 0.25 = 4

    2. Target of 4.2 positive Reviews (21 registered maximum number of service users ÷ 5). 6 Reviews ÷ 4.2 Target Reached = 1

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

9.6 Woodside Lodge has a Review Score of 9.6 (9.551) from 9 Reviews

My Mum, who has Alziemers, has been at Woodside for two years. It is a small home with very dedicated and caring staff who understand and care for each resident with great kindness and good humour. All the staff take time to chat to everyone and this helps so much and they have been so supportive to us as a family. The food is excellent and plentiful and the whole home is very clean.

My Dad has now been at Woodside Lodge for 5 years and celebrated his 80th Birthday in April, something his did not think we would be celebrating 7 years ago when he was first diagnosed with Dementia. Despite his health deteriorating over the years, he is still here with us and we put it all down to the level of care he has received.

His care is adjusted to meet his changing needs and despite having to eat food of a soft consistency, he still enjoys every mouthful. Visiting is always a pleasure and we always get a warm welcome from staff. We have no regrets in choosing Woodside for our Dad.

The home care for my mother with dignity and respect and compassion. She is well looked after, all her needs anticipated and catered for. I could not have Mum in a more suitable home.

Mum has been at Woodside Lodge for several years and her care has been excellent. I could not have provided the security and consistency which she has received during her stay.

I am always welcomed and Mum is always dressed well and talked to with respect and love. Her health, while it will decline with age, is monitored and problems dealt with promptly.

All staff are kind considerate and friendly. They take the time to listen to residents and help them through the bad days as well as making sure the good days are as good as is possible for the resident. The building has its limitations and it would be nice to have more outdoor space again for those residents who like to get outside. However, hopefully that will be reinstated when building works completed.

My mother is very happy and settled at Woodside. She says that all the staff are very friendly and that "you can't find fault with anyone". She also likes the food!

Within a short time of my mother being at Woodside, we realised how much more stimulation and interaction with other people she was getting. This was in stark contrast to her living on her own where, between our visits, she saw few, if any, people and we were always concerned for her well-being. Now, we know she is in good hands and enjoying a much better quality of life.

Mum has been cared for in Woodside Lodge for more than 3 years. I have been extremely pleased with the care and kindness shown to her and to our family at all times. Knowledgeable and approachable staff, totally professional, a pleasure to talk to and discuss mum's needs with. The food is very good indeed, and this is important to mum. Musical Entertainment several times a week, keeping mum and the other residents involved.
