The Review Score of 7.1 (maximum of 10) for Connors House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.
a) The Average Rating is 4 out of 5 from 4 Reviews over all time. This Average Rating is also the rating value for Connors House in Google's Search Results - more info
b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.1 out of 5 from 1 positive Reviews in the last 12 months.
a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating of all Reviews over all time. For each review the Care Home / service is rated Excellent, Good, Satisfactory, Poor or Very Poor on a number of areas eg Staff, Management etc. The Care Home receives points for each rating as follows: Excellent = 5. Good = 4. Satisfactory = 3. Poor = 2. Very Poor = 1. These points are added up and then divided by the total number of completed ratings to generate the average rating.
The Average Rating of 3.952 for Connors House is calculated as follows: ( (16 Excellents x 5) + (13 Goods x 4) + (8 Satisfactorys x 3) + (5 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 42 Ratings = 3.952
b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 12 months. If there are no Positive Reviews in the last 12 months, then 2.5 points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 2 years. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with 'Extremely Likely' or 'Likely' in answer to the question 'How likely are you to recommend this Care Home to friends and family if they needed similar care or treatment?'
The 5 points available are broken down as follows:
4 points are available for the first 5 Positive Reviews, 3 points for the first Positive Review and then 0.25 Points for each of the next 4 Positive Reviews.
1 point is available for reaching a target number of Positive Reviews based on 20% of the number of registered maximum number of service users. If the target is partially reached then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home with 50 registered maximum number of service users has a target of 10 Positive Reviews, if it has 10 or more Positive Reviews it will receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews will receive 0.7 points.
If there are no Positive Reviews in the last 12 months, then 2.5 points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 2 years. The calculation is the same as above, except the points are divided by 2.
The 3.106 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Connors House is based on 1 positive Reviews in the last 12 months and is calculated as follows:
3 = 3
Target of 9.4 positive Reviews (47 registered maximum number of service users ÷ 5). 1 Reviews ÷ 9.4 Target = 0.106

Review submitted from a Website Submission by Jacqueline F (Niece of Resident) on Thursday 17 August 2017. Relates to August 2017.
My aunt was very lonely and confused since her husband died. She was very sad and finding it very hard to cope on her own and the last place she wanted to be was "in a home". We had no difficulty in persuading her to live here the moment she walked into Connors she loved it. We have trouble with her worrying that she will be taken back to her flat in London.
The staff are happy, friendly and very caring. There are lots of activities which she loves and she now prefers to eat in rather than going out for a meal with us! I would recommend Connors every time and indeed we have been singing their praises to anyone who asks. A Big Thank You to all the staff.

My wife has Alzheimers Dementia and she moved to Connors House in July 2015, after being in two other homes locally, which she found unsatisfactory. We find Connors House extremely good and she is very happy as a resident.
Her dementia is now advanced and she requires help with all things, including dressing, washing, feeding, walking etc.
I visit her three times a week and am always satisfied with the way she is dressed and looked after. She is happy, I am certain.
The staff are excellent and I can recommend this home to anyone in a similar condition.

Review submitted from a Website Submission by Jane M (Daughter of Resident) on Thursday 20 April 2017. Relates to April 2017.
Mum has been at Connors nearly two years now. She is 90 and has advanced dementia. The staff are very caring and, though the home is in an old building with many rooms, not en suite, it feels homely and is being updated. The food is excellent and there are activities every day for residents. The activity coordinator is an absolute star and goes the extra mile. Like many homes, they have had staff shortage issues sometimes but things seem to be settling now and they have a team of fantastic carers who treat Mum well. I feel happy that she is settled and cared for. Their care plans are getting better too though there is still a lot of paperwork to go through to see how Mum is doing. The garden areas are great though the area where Mum is could be improved so that residents both look out and walk in colour and beauty.

Disappointed overall with the care dad received whilst at Connor House and even more so with the final rejection whilst he was admitted to hospital.
We felt as a family that we had little support and left wondering where to go next.
