My mother entered the home in 2015 and was immediately met by the staff who have always been welcoming, encouraging and friendly, ensuring that residents have everything they need to make their life comfortable.
A TV lounge is situated on the 1st floor accessible by a lift, and residents and visitors can make their own tea/coffee in the lounge at any time. Residents are encouraged to meet in the lounge and there are regular sightseeing and theatre trips arranged, as well as a range of activities in the lounge.
This is not a nursing home, but when my mother was ill, she was well looked after by the staff. My only minor criticism would be that the provision of a quiet lounge, separate from the TV lounge would be an improvement.

Thank you for your positive feedback. Your comments about a quiet room will be passed on however as you know this is a small home and we are constrained in terms of the space available for communal areas. However, your point is noted and will be passed on to the Management Team at Gardenia House.

The staff without exception make every effort to cater for every individual's needs to ensure that all the residents feel that this is their home. Visitors are welcome at any time and Mum feels safe and secure.
The end of life care is, in our experience, exceptional.
There has never been a time when it was felt the care was wanting. All of the staff go above and beyond what would reasonably be expected in both the care of mum and the support of the family.
The home is comfortable and mum loves the food.
Activities abound both internally and various trips out to the beach, theatre, garden centres, riverboat, fireworks.
New arrivals are soon welcomed into the fold and it doesn’t take too long before they find new friends and settle in.
My wife and I have seen a number of homes offering different facilities, whilst dealing with my father in laws situation, and without exception, we have not found one better than this.
We would have no hesitation in recommending Gardenia House to others.
