Overview

The Review Score of 8.4 (maximum of 10) for Mountside Residential Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.3 out of 5 from 4 Reviews over all time. This Average Rating is also the rating value for Mountside Residential Home in Google's Search Results - more info

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.1 out of 5 from 4 positive Reviews in the last 12 months.

Detailed Breakdown

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating of all Reviews over all time. For each review the Care Home / service is rated Excellent, Good, Satisfactory, Poor or Very Poor on a number of areas eg Staff, Management etc. The Care Home receives points for each rating as follows: Excellent = 5. Good = 4. Satisfactory = 3. Poor = 2. Very Poor = 1. These points are added up and then divided by the total number of completed ratings to generate the average rating.

    The Average Rating of 4.292 for Mountside Residential Home is calculated as follows: ( (19 Excellents x 5) + (25 Goods x 4) + (3 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 48 Ratings = 4.292

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 12 months. If there are no Positive Reviews in the last 12 months, then 2.5 points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 2 years. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with 'Extremely Likely' or 'Likely' in answer to the question 'How likely are you to recommend this Care Home to friends and family if they needed similar care or treatment?'

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 5 Positive Reviews, 3 points for the first Positive Review and then 0.25 Points for each of the next 4 Positive Reviews.

    2. 1 point is available for reaching a target number of Positive Reviews based on 20% of the number of registered maximum number of service users. If the target is partially reached then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home with 50 registered maximum number of service users has a target of 10 Positive Reviews, if it has 10 or more Positive Reviews it will receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews will receive 0.7 points.

    3. If there are no Positive Reviews in the last 12 months, then 2.5 points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 2 years. The calculation is the same as above, except the points are divided by 2.

The 4.135 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Mountside Residential Home is based on 4 positive Reviews in the last 12 months and is calculated as follows:

    1. 3 + 0.25 + 0.25 + 0.25 = 3.75

    2. Target of 10.4 positive Reviews (52 registered maximum number of service users ÷ 5). 4 Reviews ÷ 10.4 Target = 0.385

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

Since my mother has been residing at Mountside Care Home (18mth) my husband, myself, our family and most of all my mother have had peace of mind because of the care and attention given by all members of staff. They are all very professional, thoughtful, dedicated and importantly friendly. Every resident receives the same level of attention equally which I think is important, all residents are made to feel special which they are. There are many activities and outings which are stimulating.

On the whole, the staff are very good and very hard working. The fact that there are not enough of them is a widespread problem. My sister gets quite upset when the buzzer is not answered especially when she has an appointment and needs to be helped down in the lift, but also because the bell is situated outside her room and despite being deaf, she can hear it ringing insistently from morning until night.

Meals don't always come on time, towels not changed and bed not made until evening. Some problems with privacy.

Visited the home prior to my mum moving in. The management made my wife and myself very welcome. We discussed my mother's requirements. We were shown the room which would be my mums, it was a good size, good decoration and very clean. It's been 2 weeks since my mum moved in. She is very happy in her new home. The food is very good and the staff are friendly and caring. There are activities - bingo, games, quizzes or just time to have a quiet moment. It's a load off my mind that my mum is being looked after day and night.

My aunt is very comfortable and happy at this residential home. The staff and management are very caring and easily available when sought for varying reasons.
The entertainment organiser is very involved with all residents, involving them in appropriate games, musical entertainment etc.
Excellent choice of meals at all sittings, whether served in rooms or dining room.
