My friend came to Orchard House, and I found the whole process very easy from getting assessed to getting her in. The office staff were lovely and helped me so much. The care staff all seemed happy and friendly. She was very happy there. Would recommend to anyone looking for future care.

My aunt has been a resident for nearly a year now. She can be difficult at times to manage due to her developing Dementia and Alzheimer’s. The staff are all really good with her, and they have a great portfolio of activities daily to keep them all occupied and engaged with both staff and other residents. The food always looks nice, and she is always clean, and her clothes are clean.
The staff are all friendly and welcoming when I visit, and the senior staff keep me in the loop with her health and any incidents. They are very proactive in both her physical and mental health and well-being.

I feel confident of leaving her in their care.

My mother moved into Orchard House in September, a move that she has found very difficult to accept due to her dementia. Throughout this period, the staff at the home have managed to deal with her difficult behaviour with care and compassion. As a result, my mother does now appear to be settling and even showing signs of being happy! The staff at the home are all caring and friendly, and I would have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone looking to make the difficult decision to find a home for their loved one.

Reply from Ingrid Carley, Registered Manager at Orchard House Nursing Home

Extremely happy with the care given to my mother. All the staff are friendly, supportive and attentive to Mum and us as a family. Cannot fault the care and facilities. A very homely environment with wonderful home-cooked food.

Twelve months ago I had the agonising decision, as my mum's legal Power of Attorney, to find her a new care home as I'd been advised that her present home was closing. After a lot of research online, as I live 240 miles away from Bexhill, I found Orchard House. From the first time I spoke to the manager on the phone, I knew this would be the right place for my mum, who is in the advanced stages of Alzheimer's.
I met the manager and her staff for the first time on the day that Mum moved there and we had the warmest of welcomes, it was a home-from-home experience. I instantly knew this would be the right place for my mum to live and to be cared for.

I cannot fault the care my mum receives, no stone is ever left unturned which gives me great comfort as I live so far away. This home has a warm and caring atmosphere which transmits to the residents and their relatives and friends. It is a happy and secure place and my mum's care, whether it's personal care or social care is second to none.

From the first time of visiting the home when we were looking for residential care to when my husband became a resident. I have been more than satisfied with the care and support that is given to him, and myself, by the very caring staff.

In these difficult times I have been very pleased with the care Mum has received. However, since being in the care home Mum has become frail and does not leave her bed. I understand there are some difficulties in moving her to the lounge but not being socialized with other residents is having a negative effect on her mental and physical ability.

My mother went into Orchard House in February this year. I have been amazed at how well she has settled in and this is all due to the kindness and patience of the wonderful staff. I cannot fault anything at all even during this particularly difficult time of lockdown. It has taken such a load off my mind knowing that she is happy. And she said the food is lovely!

I would highly recommend Orchard House care home. The staff have been superb in dealing with the ongoing problems caused during the pandemic, including the upkeep of communication to family members of residents, a priority. There is always an exceptional homely, family feeling and the staff are happy, friendly and extremely compassionate to all the residents' needs. My Uncle went to Orchard House initially for respite care, he now resides on a permanent basis and is very comfortable and content. The food is very good quality and the menu always varied. There is a diverse range of daily activities to stimulate the residents and also different events throughout the year for family and friends to come together. As a family, we are delighted to have found Orchard House and as previously said; it comes highly recommended.

Reply from Alan J, Managing Director at Orchard House Nursing Home

Thank you for your kind words. The whole team at Orchard House have worked tirelessly to keep our residents safe during the pandemic and I'm glad this is recognised and appreciated. It is a pleasure caring for your uncle.

My very elderly grandmother moved into Orchard House in 2020. She has dementia. I can honestly say the care at Orchard House is excellent and the staff are just amazing. My grandmother is enjoying her life in Orchard House, having to live independently up to this point.

Very understand and helpful owners and staff. A nice relaxed home with a good atmosphere. All residents are relaxed and in a good mood. Any upsets have been dealt with in a nice, caring manner.

Food is very good. I hear lots of complimentary comments from other visitors about how nicely their relatives are fed, watered and cared for. That's particularly nice to hear.

Mum is very happy at Orchard House. She has settled in well and everyone has made her feel very welcome.
She sees it as her home and loves her room - it's clean and bright.
The food is homemade, every day with choices for lunch and supper. The dining room is the place to meet for meals, however, if you prefer and you can have food on a tray served in your room.
It's mums birthday today. A big thank you to everyone for making it a special day with flowers, cake and a birthday card signed by all the carers. And a hair-do too!

In fact, it's the people here that make Orchard House a care home I would recommend - always professional and always friendly. They all take a genuine interest in you, make time to have a natter and want you to have a good day.

I live in America and contacted the home by email to find somewhere for my Mum to be cared for as she has dementia. I went to visit in June and was very impressed with the home.

The staff are extremely helpful and caring. The home is very clean and inviting. I know my Mum will be well taken care of and my Dad can visit whenever he wants.

Room very dirty, bathroom only cleaned when asked, never involved in any activities. Just plonked in front of TV and left. Was only given a shower once. Was sick on the last night which was still up the wall and on the floor by the bed, never got cleared up. Catheters just left in the bathroom for days. I cleared them away twice. Was left to shave himself but he can't do it properly etc, etc.
