Orchard House is a modern fully equipped nursing home which specialises in high-quality dementia care.

As a small home looking after a maximum of 32 residents, the professional, highly experienced and friendly team are able to deliver truly personalised, bespoke care putting residents at the centre of everything they do. With high staffing ratios, residents benefit from all the attention and care they need and become part of the Orchard House family.

Their ethos is to maximise residents' quality of life and independence whilst protecting their privacy and dignity.

The home offers home cooked meals and residents enjoy freshly cooked, nutritious meals using high quality, locally sourced ingredients. Residents with special dietary requirements are catered for and residents are encouraged to contribute to the development of the menus.

Orchard House has a dedicated Activities Co-ordinator who ensures there is a full schedule of activities available to the residents every day to maintain physical and mental wellbeing and keep residents stimulated.

There is hairdressing available on site in the salon as well as visiting chiropodists, physiotherapists and opticians. Residents can choose their GP and Orchard House has links with all local GPs in Bexhill.

My mother went into Orchard House in February this year. I have been amazed at how well she has settled in and this is all due to the kindness and patience of the wonderful staff. I cannot fault anything at all even during this particularly difficult time of lockdown. It has taken such a load off my
mind knowing that she is happy. And she said the food is lovely!

I would highly recommend Orchard House care home. The staff have been superb in dealing with the ongoing problems caused during the pandemic, including the upkeep of communication to family members of residents, a priority. There is always an exceptional homely, family feeling and the staff are happy,
friendly and extremely compassionate to all the residents' needs. My Uncle went to Orchard House initially for respite care, he now resides on a permanent basis and is very comfortable and content. The food is very good quality and the menu always varied. There is a diverse range of daily activities to stimulate the residents and also different events throughout the year for family and friends to come together. As a family, we are delighted to have found Orchard House and as previously said; it comes highly recommended.

My very elderly grandmother moved into Orchard House in 2020. She has dementia. I can honestly say the care at Orchard House is excellent and the staff are just amazing. My grandmother is enjoying her life in Orchard House, having to live independently up to this point.

Very understand and helpful owners and staff. A nice relaxed home with a good atmosphere. All residents are relaxed and in a good mood. Any upsets have been dealt with in a nice, caring manner.
Food is very good. I hear lots of complimentary comments from other visitors about how nicely their relatives
are fed, watered and cared for. That's particularly nice to hear.

Mum is very happy at Orchard House. She has settled in well and everyone has made her feel very welcome.
She sees it as her home and loves her room - it's clean and bright.
The food is homemade, every day with choices for lunch and supper. The dining room is the place to meet for meals, however,
if you prefer and you can have food on a tray served in your room.
It's mums birthday today. A big thank you to everyone for making it a special day with flowers, cake and a birthday card signed by all the carers. And a hair-do too!
In fact, it's the people here that make Orchard House a care home I would recommend - always professional and always friendly. They all take a genuine interest in you, make time to have a natter and want you to have a good day.

Have been here just over a month. The staff here are very friendly and caring. Nothing is too much trouble for them. Treated with dignity and respect, even under trying circumstances at times. Always clean and tidy and comfortable. Cannot speak of the staff too highly. Very pleased that we have come

I live in America and contacted the home by email to find somewhere for my Mum to be cared for as she has dementia. I went to visit in June and was very impressed with the home.
The staff are extremely helpful and caring. The home is very clean and inviting. I know my Mum will be well taken care of
and my Dad can visit whenever he wants.

Room very dirty, bathroom only cleaned when asked, never involved in any activities. Just plonked in front of TV and left. Was only given a shower once. Was sick on the last night which was still up the wall and on the floor by the bed, never got cleared up. Catheters just left in the bathroom for days.
I cleared them away twice. Was left to shave himself but he can't do it properly etc, etc.

My aunt had 2 weeks respite at Orchard house following a stay in hospital. She was in a very weak and fragile state on entering and 2 weeks later was able to return home to live by herself with a care package. I would like to thank all the staff for helping her recover. Myself and other members of

My husband is well cared for by very competent, caring and friendly staff providing a homely atmosphere with personal items allowed in their room if wanted. Any complaints are promptly dealt with and resolved. The care home serves fresh home-cooked food which is much appreciated by residents.

The lovely, homely feel of Orchard House is evident, from the minute you enter staff smile and are friendly.
Management are always present and know their residents by name, nothing is too much trouble for any of the staff.

I highly recommend Orchard House.
A fine building with open-plan living and dining areas, a large conservatory overlooking the beautiful garden and comfortable en-suite bedrooms.
The home-cooked food is tasty and nutritional and there are plenty of options.
The home is always fresh and clean.
There
are interesting activities daily and special events to look forward to.
Most importantly the management and staff are amazing, being kind, compassionate, warm and friendly.
They combine efficiency and professionalism with a gentle sensitivity.
Residents have told me that they feel happy, secure and content.
As for my mum, who was adamant that she would not enter a care home...well, she is so happy.
She loves her room and has made many friends.

The care staff seemed very caring.
My wife was there for two weeks (respite care).
My wife has Dementia and the first room she was allocated was not suitable.
No en-suite only a commode (confusing).
The new room 4 days later was much better.
Never met any management, was never asked what my wife
liked or needed, just handed this card as we were leaving.

Unfortunately, at the time your wife was with us the home manager was on annual leave and I understand you interacted with a couple of the senior carers in charge at the time. I am sorry you felt that no one made an effort to understand your and your wife's needs, but it was a rather short time and usually the staff team do take some time to build up a full picture of a new resident. We have discussed this incident internally and hope to improve the family liaison. Also, you will note on our website many other positive reviews for our services, so I feel this was a one off occasion.

My wife was welcomed at Orchard House for a short stay holiday (4 nights) from her normal residence. Her comment on everything relating to Orchard House was "home from home". My wife has no sight whatsoever but this did not seem to matter as she was made to feel immediately comfortable in her new surroundings.
She very much enjoyed the food and slept well every night. Wheelchair access was no problem and she looks forward to a further visit.

This is such a lovely home, the staff are always friendly and welcoming, nothing is too much trouble and the atmosphere in the home is very positive. It feels so homely. Mum has settled in so well and is very happy. She has received such great care and support from the manager and all the team at Orchard
House. We are very pleased with everything and it is a real relief to know she is being so well looked after.

I have been very relieved to see that my wife has been very settled and happy during her stay. She has shown no signs of anxiety which she does suffer from.
It has been a great comfort to see how well she has been looked after and how relaxed she has been whilst staying at Orchard House.

and I would have no hesitation in recommending Orchard House and would be very happy and grateful for her to come for another stay in the future should the need arise.
