The Review Score of 8.6 (maximum of 10) for Stokeleigh is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.2 out of 5 from 8 Reviews over all time. This Average Rating is also the rating value for Stokeleigh in Google's Search Results - more info

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4 out of 5 from 4 positive Reviews in the last 12 months.

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating of all Reviews over all time. For each review the Care Home / service is rated Excellent, Good, Satisfactory, Poor or Very Poor on a number of areas eg Staff, Management etc. The Care Home receives points for each rating as follows: Excellent = 5. Good = 4. Satisfactory = 3. Poor = 2. Very Poor = 1. These points are added up and then divided by the total number of completed ratings to generate the average rating.

    The Average Rating of 4.156 for Stokeleigh is calculated as follows: ( (26 Excellents x 5) + (59 Goods x 4) + (11 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 96 Ratings = 4.156

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 12 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with 'Extremely Likely' or 'Likely' in answer to the question 'How likely are you to recommend this Care Home to friends and family if they needed similar care or treatment?'

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 5 Positive Reviews, 3 points for the first Positive Review and then 0.25 Points for each of the next 4 Positive Reviews.

    2. 1 point is available for reaching a target number of Positive Reviews based on 20% of the number of registered beds. If the target is partially reached then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home with 50 registered beds has a target of 10 Positive Reviews, if it has 10 or more Positive Reviews it will receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews will receive 0.7 points.

The 4.417 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Stokeleigh is based on 4 positive Reviews in the last 12 months and is calculated as follows:

    1. 3 + 0.25 + 0.25 + 0.25 = 3.75

    2. Target of 6 positive Reviews (30 registered beds ÷ 5). 4 Reviews ÷ 6 Target = 0.667

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

My mother was unwell during December and the care that she received from all the staff was exemplary. She was encouraged to get out of bed to help her chest and there was a constant flow of cups of tea to keep her fluid levels up. She has recovered and is now up and about and joining in the excellent range of activities provided. My mother has been a resident for many years and can be quite challenging. She is always well cared for and treated with dignity and respect. We consider ourselves very lucky to have found such a caring environment for her.

Wonderful home from home atmosphere as far as that can be. Warm and welcoming. Staff are fantastic and do a great job but I wish more would stay longer. Laundry needs improvement. I wish the clothes would come back to my mother rather than other residents clothes, especially as I have labelled hers. "More drinks" I hear the residents say. When I visit I am offered a coffee or tea most times and I can ask for more if needed. Thank you to all the chefs for a gluten free diet.

I visit my old friend frequently, usually once a week. Her eldest son is a friend mine. I am most impressed with this care home where my friend is happy. When I visit there are several members of staff around. One in particular is always conducting quizzes, scrabble etc. There is frequent entertainment from outside people. My church visits twice monthly once for singing and once for Holy Communion. This is a well run, clean and happy home.

Excellent caring environment. My mother in law had a difficult, unsettled period when first going there. The staff made changes and suggestions to enable her to settle. The staff are well trained with an excellent manager. All are always pleasant and well informed. They seem to go the 'extra mile'. I would recommend Stokeleigh to anyone looking for a caring, well run residential environment. They are particularly knowledgeable and experienced in dementia care. They treat residents as individuals and utmost kindness. Also the home is a fantastic building in a great location.

Stokeleigh has lost a number of staff earlier in the year which led to a general degradation of both cleanliness and care particularly at weekend. Has improved recently but available staff to carry out showering and ensuring cleanliness of residents continues to be a challenge. Biggest issue is gaining access visitors are kept waiting at the front door for unacceptable period.
