A wonderful safe, happy place to be be for my grandmother.
We can relax knowing she is well cared for by friendly caring team of staff, who treat her as an individual and understand her complex needs. The facility provides dignified care, to an excellent standard, good food and lots of great activities
for the residents to have a go at including very thoughtful sensory activities (my nan is registered blind and partially deaf so sensory touch and smell are so important.) I have great faith in the skills of the staff and the management overseeing them, really can't fault the home, it is the very best that we could have hoped for in a dementia facility, it really does feel like the residents are in their own home, it is small enough that the staff are super familiar with every resident, very inclusive and it helps the residents to stay calm and feel secure. 5*thanks x

my husband has been resident for the past 7 months. Excellent care home - not the poshest but the absolute best as the staff are so friendly and caring. The quality of the care is first class. The meals are attractive and home made. The atmosphere in the home is warm and welcoming. There is a dedicated
activities person who devises a variety of activities to engage the residents - both as group activities and one to one. There is a small enclosed garden which enables the residents to safely go outdoors at any time. The public areas are purpose built and attractive but some bedrooms are in the older part of the building which vary in their size and attractiveness.

Our mum who suffers from dementia has been at Clann House for over 2 years now. My sister and I have found everyone involved here are so very caring and offer the highest standards of care to all their patients. We are always kept informed of any changes to mum and nothing is ever too much bother.
Although
our mum hardly ever takes part in the activities the home offers a variety of amazing things to do everyday. We are very grateful for the loving care our mum receives.
Reply from Lisa davey, manager at Clann HouseThank you Verlaine. We are so happy you're happy. Mum is too busy walking miles to join in!!

We moved mum into clann a year ago from another care home, it was a hard decision to make to move her from what she knew but without a doubt it was the best one we made. Mum was relaxed, happy and content from the minute she arrived and has been ever since. The staff have always treated her with genuine
kindness and made a true friendship, they are patient and always approachable.
Clann have a brilliant entertainment programme with sally, there is always something going on from music club, outings, singers, arts and crafts and baking to name a few. The social media page and care app are fantastic ways for us to see what she is doing and be always upto date with any health issues we need to know. It's very reassuring she is safe and happy when we can't be there.
Reply from Lisa davey, manager at Clann HouseThank you for the lovely review Amy. Mum is certainly very happy and we love to see her smile every day x

Current Review Score: 8.9 (8.942)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.9 (8.942) out of 10 for Clann House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 4 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.0 out of 5 from 4 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.979 for Clann House is calculated as follows: ( (47 Excellents x 5) + (1 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 48 Ratings = 4.979
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 3.963 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Clann House is based on 4 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.375
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 34 registered maximum number of service users is 6.8. 4 Positive Reviews ÷ 6.8 = 0.588
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
