Very pleased with the standard of care. I feel Mum is being well looked after. Her room is large, and she has all the things she needs. There have been a few mix-ups with clothing, but the only real issue, teeth were lost as well.

My aunt moved into St Petroc's in January. I was very apprehensive, but the team at St Petroc's were warm and welcoming and helped make this transition as painless as possible.
It is very much a homely environment, always spotlessly clean, and all the team goes the extra mile to accommodate the needs
of my aunt and keep me informed of any concerns. I always feel welcomed when visiting. There are many activities on offer and I receive a monthly newsletter, I find this very reassuring.
I was very hesitant to make this move but cannot recommend St Petroc's highly enough.

It was the best thing I ever did with the help from social services to get my mum safely into St Petroc's from a council flat where she was so lonely. What a difference this has made to her in the six months she has been there. I phone her twice a day as I live in North Wales. The staff are amazing
and keep me informed of any issues my mum has. I look forward to the times I go down and visit her.

Since my husband has been a resident here, I have found St Petroc's a lovely place, and the staff very welcoming and super-efficient. I don't think he could be in a better place. He looks well, and I believe the food is very good and lots of it. I would definitely recommend it.

Staff are lovely and work very hard in trying times. We feel that communication could be better as we've not always been told if Dad is not well. I always feel welcome on visits and nothing seems to be too much trouble.

Mum was in a "bad way" at her previous home, following 18-months in lockdown and being unable to see her family. The overall experience of making the move to St Petroc's, from initial viewing to now (only six weeks), has proven far easier than we could have hoped! Mum is now cheerfully and full of life
again!

I've always been appreciative of the genuine sense of kindness shown by the care staff at St Petroc's towards Gran over the years. During the lockdown, this has become even more apparent, especially in light of all the hard work that's been done to successfully keep residents safe. The introduction
of regular Skype calls has made an enormous difference, greatly adding to Gran's quality of life. She's been gently introduced to this new way of communicating by staff members who demonstrate sincere patience. It's always a pleasure seeing her looking well and clearly well taken care of. Without fail, she speaks highly of the carers at St Petroc's every time we talk.

My father became a resident in January. He loves the care and attention from the staff as he had become lonely living on his own since his wife passed away. His room is homely and spacious and he really likes the home-cooked food. It is such a relief for the family to know he is safe and so well cared
for.

Current Review Score: 9.7 (9.664)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.664) out of 10 for St Petroc's House Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 9 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.9 out of 5 from 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.764 for St Petroc's House Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (81 Excellents x 5) + (25 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 106 Ratings = 4.764
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.9 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for St Petroc's House Care Home is based on 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.9
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 30 registered maximum number of service users is 6, which has been reached with 9 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
