Mum has been very happy here for 4 years. The staff are very caring and always do their best. My mother has a lovely room overlooking the tree and garden at the front. It is light sunny and always kept clean. The WiFi being somewhat erratic is a very small issue and sometimes clothes shrink or get lost in the wash. But the food is pretty good and Mum seems healthy and well cared for. It is peaceful and restful. My mother and father-in-law were also residents here and we had the three of them here until they died. They do provide activities, quizzes and singing for those that like this. My mother is not terribly interested though. The staff have been brilliant during the Covid pandemic keeping everyone safe and happy and it can’t have been easy. Now I can visit again indoors and hold Mum's hand again, I am very happy.

I would just like a write a review. One of my close relatives is staying within Puddavine Court. When I’ve been able to speak to her she has always told me about a certain night staff carer. She sings his praises every time I speak to her for his kindness and patience. I would just like to personally say thank you. During Covid-19 it has been very hard to know if my family and friends are safe, this gives me the reassurance I needed. So please thank him for his hard work. It isn’t going unnoticed.

Thank you for the lovely review. We appreciate that the last year has been extremely difficult for our relatives wondering if their loved one is being cared for and is happy. The visiting restrictions have been hard on us all. We are pleased that your relative has been shown the kindness and...

My mother moved into Puddavine last summer. She had recently been widowed and was grieving her husband.
The staff have been sympathetic and caring, helping her to settle in her new home with some of her own furniture and paintings around her. It is lovely to have her so near to me, and even though visiting is currently restricted, I know that she is well cared for. My mum is very bright and alert, and she very much enjoys the stimulation provided by the quiz sessions. The Wi-Fi provision is the only snag as my mum likes to use her iPad a lot, although I am hoping we can remedy this at some point.

Thank you for all the precautions and care you are all taking.

Thank you for your review. The staff appreciate your generous feedback in knowing that what they are doing is recognised by families and how much you trust us with your loved ones and it is lovely to hear that mum is happy and settled. It is a pleasure to be a part of this team, especially during...

My mother has been at Puddavine Court for 2.5 years now. She has received excellent care. The staff are always friendly and helpful and they have done brilliantly through the pandemic, remaining calm and facilitating Covid-safe visits for their residents.

My wife suffered a stroke in 2018, deteriorated and has been at Puddavine Court as a resident since February 2020. She has now got worse and recently had to move to a nursing home. Both she and I are going to miss the wonderful staff and the exceptional care that she received. If anybody reading this has a relative going into the home, try not to worry, all the staff from top to bottom really care for the residents. On behalf of my wife and myself I would like to thank them for the treatment she has received. Thank you all.

Thank you from all of us at Puddavine Court for your lovely positive review of the home. We are so pleased to have been a positive part of your journey and we have enjoyed looking after your wife and getting to know you both and we all hope that the next chapter of care is as positive an experience as ours. We will miss you both too. Best wishes, all at Puddavine Court.

After a spell in hospital, my father was placed into the care of Puddavine Court under the intermediate care scheme, with a view to getting him back home, but unfortunately, it became clear to all concerned, that my father was unable to return home and be safe in his home environment, so now he finds himself a permanent resident, he is now settling in well.
The environment that all the residents are in is exceptional. I find the staff at Puddavine Court very helpful, compassionate and friendly, like one big family.
I love visiting the home not only to see my Dad but I also like to have a chat with all the other residents and staff and I feel that this type of environment is lovely for everyone. It is nice to see that there is currently an effort to help expand the minds and thinking power of the residents with quiz afternoons and it also great that visitors are encouraged to join in also.

Keep up the good work Puddavine.

Following a serious operation, I arranged for my mum to stay for a couple of weeks at Puddavine Court for respite care. She was supported in her recovery with vigilance and warmth by each member of staff. I felt able to breathe knowing that my mum was safe and so genuinely cared for. Staff were in regular contact with me, reassuring me about my mum. I visited every day and really felt part of a huge family!

No one likes to leave their own home.

Sometimes, it becomes necessary due to care needs. I have settled here well and have adapted to life here. The staff are very caring and I try not to bother them unless I need to. They always help me.

The staff are very pleasant, helpful and kind. My stay in Puddavine was much more agreeable than I had imagined it would be and I think the staff are wonderful. I have one complaint and that is the bedding. I found myself lying on just the rubber mattress, the under sheet having worked loose, which was most uncomfortable and unpleasant. On the whole, well-done Puddavine.

Mum's stay at Puddavine was short, simply because she had reached the end of her life. The staff could not have been more caring, attentive or sensitive. Puddavine is clean, bright and well kept and there is a very peaceful atmosphere. I would certainly recommend it to anyone needing somewhere personal and professional.

This care home provides a safe and comfortable residence for my father. All of the staff are friendly, kind and caring. The food is good and varied. The home provides for all of my father's needs in a homely environment. I very much doubt a better care home could be found!

My mum was taken into the care home, suffering from dementia, when the directors of the company that runs the care home stated: "we, as a company, do not consider ourselves specialists in providing dementia/mental health care". This seems a little odd. This is like getting in a taxi to find the taxi, although advertises to be so isn't a taxi at all and is a private car, but, they still take your money. So beware. If you are considering putting someone in care with Dementia do not go to this company. My mum is left to wander in ever more agitative states and the only recourse is to drug her up.

We are sorry that the person that wrote this review feels this way about the care his mother received. We do provide care to people with dementia but sometimes the needs of a person with any type of dementia can alter quickly and without warning. We do involve other professionals when this happens...

From day one of my sister moving to Puddavine Totnes she was made to feel welcome and at home.
The staff are all excellent, nothing was too much trouble for them, always polite and very helpful.
The home was always very clean with no horrible smells, a pleasant place to walk in to.

Unfortunately, my sister has since passed away, but I know had she lived longer she would still have been happy there.

My mother and father have been residents for 3 and 2 years respectively. I am very pleased with how they are being looked after, particularly as they both are immobile and need help constantly. It is a pity that there have been some staff changes which I realise is inevitable as my father particularly gets used to being helped by the same carers. Nevertheless, I feel that their needs are constantly monitored and I am usually informed of any changes necessary for their care.
