In July 2017 I had to make the decision for my mum to go into a care home due to severe arthritis, risk of falling, poor eyesight and early onset memory problems. I visited several homes but as soon as I met the acting manager I knew Goldcrest was the right home. Mum has always received excellent care, concern and is always treated with dignity and respect. My mum has always been a 'proud lady' and all staff treat her accordingly. Especially choosing her clothes so she is always presentable (very important to mum). Staff find time to chat with her and always make relatives very welcome. It feels more like a 'real home'. She has gained weight and her pain controlled.
The owners also are very helpful and hands on.

My mother has only just arrived at Goldcrest but our initial impression is very good.
The building is light and airy and the staff are very friendly to residents and families alike.
We are confident that mum will settle in quickly.

Dad has been at Goldcrest for four years and in all this time has been treated with the utmost care and dignity. His welfare has always been the home's priority.
Goldcrest is like a home from home and I would have no trouble recommending it to anyone who asked.

The home manager has always been very approachable, friendly and caring.
Mothers room is always nicely maintained. Mother's health is extremely well monitored and managed.
The food always looks very appetising.

A small home with friendly staff who don't change over. Very happy to help in whatever way they can. Made the transition into the home for mum as easy as they could.
Mum likes the staff who are always friendly and go out of their what to help.
It is never easy moving to a care home but the staff at Goldcrest have made it the best possible experience.

Homely, comfortable home. Choices of lounges and areas to sit. Regular activities to enhance the resident's lives. Safe environment. 24 hour care from kind, caring staff. All staff treat the residents with dignity and respect.
Residents are always made welcome and given a cup of tea. Management are friendly and approachable. Any health, mental or physical needs are dealt with quickly and competently. Information on progress or deterioration is given regularly. Care of the dying is dealt with sensitively.
The directors are well informed and are active in their support and take an interest in the residents, knowing all their names.

My mother-in-law lived at Goldrest for the last 20 months of her life. She had advanced Alzheimer's and was very confused. However during her last year she came to look upon Godcrest as her home, a secure place with a comfortable clean room, surrounded by kind caring staff whom she considered as family. The food was excellent and we sometimes joined her in a meal at Christmas time. Unfortunately we couldn't provide the 24/7 care at home she needed but Goldcrest gave us the peace of mind that mum was getting the best care we could provide.
