The Retired Nurses National Home (RNNH) is set in beautiful gardens in Bournemouth, Dorset. Although originally for the benefit of the retired nursing community, RNNH now welcomes all members of the community whilst retaining strong links to its heritage through it’s archive of nursing history.
There is a cosy lounge and bright and airy dinning room for residents to enjoy. Most of the rooms at RNNH overlook the picturesque surroundings whilst offering specialist residential and dementia care. Respite care is also available at RNNH.
The dedicated team understand that each resident is different and create a personalised care plan to ensure their needs are met. Staff are committed to making sure RNNH feels like home for every resident.
RNNH is a residence owned by the charity, Friends of the Elderly, whose mission it is to provide individual professional, dignified care services in a home from home setting.

Driving: From The Wessex Way (A338), take the exit on to Castle Lane East towards Bournemouth hospital/Tesco store. From Castle Lane East, take the exit for Tesco’s (Riverside Avenue). If approaching Riverside Avenue from the Iford roundabout direction, make sure to be in the right hand lane at the traffic lights for turning into Riverside Avenue. Drive down Riverside Avenue past the entrance to Tesco’s car park. Follow the road down past the Golf Play entrance and continue along until RNNH is on the left hand side.
Buses: 2, 2a, 2b, 3 and 33 – all stop at Royal Bournemouth hospital. It is approximately a 20 minute walk from the hospital to RNNH.
Rail: The nearest rail stations are at Christchurch and Bournemouth. Taxis can be found at both stations.
Disabled access is available at the front entrance. Visitors are welcome at anytime however, please respect meal times where possible. For a small charge, visitors are very welcome to join their family member/friend for meal – please let the catering team know as booking is required.
There is ample visitor parking available at the front of the property.
