I am extremely disappointed with the standard of care my Nan has received during her 7 weeks at this home.When she first arrived the staff were amazing, and we felt reassured she was in good hands. A few staff members have been absolutely brilliant with my Nan, and we cannot thank those individuals enough for their kindness and care. Unfortunately, the overall standard of care has seriously declined. My Nan is now covered in pressure sores, and we have serious concerns that she has not been repositioned properly during the day or night. Even more concerning, my Nan was left waiting over 8 days to see a doctor, only to then be rushed into hospital in the middle of the night with a severe infection. As a family, we are deeply worried about the delay in getting her medical attention and whether her deteriorating condition was recognised and acted upon appropriately. We have raised our concerns with management, but we feel we feel we have been fobbed off rather than listened to.

My cousin (cousin in law) is well looked after with treatment, personal care and physiotherapy on a timely and regular basis. An in depth assessment of her personal needs for returning home has been carried out on site and at her home, with equipment being specified and ordered. Our friend was admitted to Russell Court in November 2024 directly from Russell's Hall Hospital, after suffering a bleed on the brain.
She improved enormously during the five months that she was a resident there, where she received care and encouragement from the physio team, occupational therapist and nursing staff - headed up by a particular member of staff, who was always happy to answer questions and concerns.
Admin made sure that our friend's husband was cared for too when he was visiting. The new lady took over as manager during 'our' time there, and made a significant difference. She was also a great sounding board when we were looking at the way forward, or had any specific worries. She was a star!
Our friend has moved to a home which is more convenient for her husband to visit, but we were all sad to leave Russell Court behind!
I have given four stars rather than five, as the fabric of the building needs some attention, and the rooms are not very generous in size.

The physios got him walking along to corridor and he managed to get to the toilet with help from a carer and his walker. When he returned home after 6 weeks, he had improved and was able to walk to the toilet with the help of a carer and myself. He has not had to use the commode.
