Dear Charles, thank you for your very kind comments. Our staff work very hard to insure all our residents have the quality of life they so much deserved. He oversees all of our assessments, that being he visits people in their homes or place of care at the time and carries out thorough assessments to establish whether the person is suited to living with us and ensuring we can meet the persons care needs. He also works closely with our manager Matthew to ensure we are maintaining high levels of care for our residents while all the time remaining compliant with our regulators.

He has since earned a degree in ‘Dementia Studies’ from the prestigious Bradford University. He was inspired to study the condition in his late 60s after watching his mum, Ivy, deal with memory problems towards the end of her life.
Outside of Barrowhill Hall Geoff is very active in the local village of Rocester. He has served on the board of the Church and the commissioners. However, he enjoys nothing more than spending time with his wife.

“It's hard to describe a typical day at Barrowhill for me as every single day is different, you have to react to what is going on. But generally, I attend the morning meeting with all the heads of department, produce daily reports to Head Office and it’s my job to do the induction training for new staff.
“My favourite part of Barrowhill has to be the views. They really are spectacular, especially the walk down to Churnet Lodge from the main building. The view simply takes your breath away, it has to be seen to be believed!
“I hope that when families visit their loved ones they leave Barrowhill knowing that their relatives are being well cared for and they are happy and safe.
“I’ve worked here for just over five years now. Before that, I worked in the construction industry for more than 20 years.
"When the company I worked for closed and I was made redundant, I felt it would be nice to work in a different field and the people here make it a much more interesting place to work.
“I can be quite a sensitive soul, so the best piece of advice I've been given is from my dad and that's "Don't take it personally!"
“Outside of work I like walking, baking cakes and like most women I like to go shopping!
“I’m from Ashbourne where I still live with my husband. We’re lucky as all of our close family live nearby. Perhaps it’s because I come from Derbyshire and not Staffordshire that I don't like oatcakes!”
