Reviews

7.7 Lilybank Hamlet has a Review Score of 7.7 (7.699)

The Review Score of 7.7 (maximum of 10) for Lilybank Hamlet is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.3 out of 5 from 5 Reviews over all time. This Average Rating is also the rating value for Lilybank Hamlet in Google's Search Results - more info

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.4 out of 5 from 2 positive Reviews in the last 12 months.

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating of all Reviews over all time. For each review the Care Home / service is rated Excellent, Good, Satisfactory, Poor or Very Poor on a number of areas eg Staff, Management etc. The Care Home receives points for each rating as follows: Excellent = 5. Good = 4. Satisfactory = 3. Poor = 2. Very Poor = 1. These points are added up and then divided by the total number of completed ratings to generate the average rating.

    The Average Rating of 4.267 for Lilybank Hamlet is calculated as follows: ( (27 Excellents x 5) + (22 Goods x 4) + (11 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 60 Ratings = 4.267

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 12 months. If there are no Positive Reviews in the last 12 months, then 2.5 points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 2 years. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with 'Extremely Likely' or 'Likely' in answer to the question 'How likely are you to recommend this Care Home to friends and family if they needed similar care or treatment?'

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 5 Positive Reviews, 3 points for the first Positive Review and then 0.25 Points for each of the next 4 Positive Reviews.

    2. 1 point is available for reaching a target number of Positive Reviews based on 20% of the number of registered maximum number of service users. If the target is partially reached then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home with 50 registered maximum number of service users has a target of 10 Positive Reviews, if it has 10 or more Positive Reviews it will receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews will receive 0.7 points.

    3. If there are no Positive Reviews in the last 12 months, then 2.5 points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 2 years. The calculation is the same as above, except the points are divided by 2.

The 3.432 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Lilybank Hamlet is based on 2 positive Reviews in the last 12 months and is calculated as follows:

    1. 3 + 0.25 = 3.25

    2. Target of 11 positive Reviews (55 registered maximum number of service users ÷ 5). 2 Reviews ÷ 11 Target = 0.182

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

The staffing levels are a great concern. Sometimes only 3 are on duty at weekends, when there is no receptionist, so they have the exciting task of answering the door. In my opinion, the reception needs to be staffed at all times. My husband needs 2 carers if he should need assistance and he is on the third floor. Leaving just one or sometimes two to deal with the rest of the residents is ludicrous, as there are almost 40. I have heard someone ask for the toilet to be told, "there are 10 before you, so you must wait". Absolutely unforgivable, would they rather clean up a mess?

When mum lived in her own home, she was continually distressed and afraid of an increasing facet of her memory loss. Since moving to live at Lilybank Hamlet, mum has been able to relax somewhat as staff reassure her regularly. Her room is clean and well-maintained and staff are caring and interact warmly with her recognising and valuing in individuality. There are regular organised activities for the residents and open contact with the resident's families. I am pleased with the care and support mum receives at Lilybank Hamlet and I would recommend it to others.

We are very happy with the care my mother receives, she is treated with kindness and respect. Her room is always clean and care is always taken over her appearance she is recognised as an individual and the staff are always willing to take time to discuss her needs. My mother has dementia but is able to express her mood and it has always been clear that she feels safe and secure here. Her physical health needs are well monitored and responded to.

Mum has been a resident at Lilybank since December 2011. She is now 100 years old and I am very grateful for the kindness, care and dignity shown to her by all the staff.

My mother was moved from her home in Matlock to Lilybank about six months ago having had several falls and "going downhill" as being incapable of looking after herself properly. I visit her once a week (my sister and stepbrother go more often as they live nearer) I am always impressed by the way the staff care for some, very difficult elderly people, with gentleness and never shouting and also a sense of humour. Lilybank is a very roomy accommodation and the residents are free to wander around (stairs obviously out of bounds) The food is acceptable but perhaps things like beef stew need cooking to tenderise the meat more. The areas are very clean and spillages removed immediately.
