I would highly recommended Syne Hills care home, my mum has been in the home for 2 years so far and the level of care and attention is very high. All the staff are lovely. There are plenty of activities for the residents to join in with if they wish too.

We would like to highly commend the professional, supportive, and friendly manner that Syne Hills Care Home provides. The staff are just the most helpful, tentative and caring people we have ever dealt with. We highly recommend anyone looking for a care home for their loved one will not be disappointed.
The management and support staff are always willing to ensure that we (the family) are kept well-informed about our aunt's care. Well done to all the management and staff at Syne Hills - we have nothing but praise for your care home and are so very grateful for everything you do.

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My mum came for the first time for 1 week, whilst my husband and I went to see the grandchildren. Because of a thorough pre-admission assessment, her room completely met her needs to be as independent as she can. Staff were just lovely and very caring without being condescending. Mum mentioned that
the food was good and again kitchen staff made sure she didn't miss out on pudding and gave sugar-free desserts. She had her hair done and went with a carer on a prebooked outing into town. The owner, also took mum on a different day to Winthorpe to see the sea which she was thrilled about. Apparently, she does this with all residents that can get in the car on top of more organised outings.
I noticed how well staffed the home was and staff seemed genuinely happy in their work, speaking highly of their employers, which is rare.
The home was spotless with good infection control measures. I met the housekeeper who was thorough and lovely.
Reply from Christopher Sweeney, Director at Syne Hills Care HomeThank you Rebecca for taking the time to let us have such valuable feedback. It is always such a boost to us all when we are told how our efforts can make such an anxious and often stressful time, pleasurable. We are delighted that Mum settled in and found everything to be just as we would like, safe, comfortable, remain independent, enjoying her time and food and of course being able to get out into Skegness (even if it was a little bit nippy!). We will look forward to seeing Mum again soon and so pleased that you were able to enjoy your break away! Thank you.

Current Review Score: 8.4 (8.416)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.4 (8.416) out of 10 for Syne Hills Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 2 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.5 out of 5 from 2 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.958 for Syne Hills Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (23 Excellents x 5) + (1 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 24 Ratings = 4.958
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 3.458 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Syne Hills Care Home is based on 2 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 = 3.125
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 30 registered maximum number of service users is 6. 2 Positive Reviews ÷ 6 = 0.333
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
