Reviews

7.1 Millbank Care Home has a Review Score of 7.1 (7.100)

The Review Score of 7.1 (maximum of 10) for Millbank Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.6 out of 5 from 7 Reviews over all time. This Average Rating is also the rating value for Millbank Care Home in Google's Search Results - more info

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 2.5 out of 5 from 7 positive Reviews in the last 2 years. (A 2 year period has been used as there were no positive reviews in the last 12 months)

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating of all Reviews over all time. For each review the Care Home / service is rated Excellent, Good, Satisfactory, Poor or Very Poor on a number of areas eg Staff, Management etc. The Care Home receives points for each rating as follows: Excellent = 5. Good = 4. Satisfactory = 3. Poor = 2. Very Poor = 1. These points are added up and then divided by the total number of completed ratings to generate the average rating.

    The Average Rating of 4.639 for Millbank Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (57 Excellents x 5) + (22 Goods x 4) + (4 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 83 Ratings = 4.639

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 12 months. If there are no Positive Reviews in the last 12 months, then 2.5 points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 2 years. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with 'Extremely Likely' or 'Likely' in answer to the question 'How likely are you to recommend this Care Home to friends and family if they needed similar care or treatment?'

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 5 Positive Reviews, 3 points for the first Positive Review and then 0.25 Points for each of the next 4 Positive Reviews.

    2. 1 point is available for reaching a target number of Positive Reviews based on 20% of the number of registered maximum number of service users. If the target is partially reached then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home with 50 registered maximum number of service users has a target of 10 Positive Reviews, if it has 10 or more Positive Reviews it will receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews will receive 0.7 points.

    3. If there are no Positive Reviews in the last 12 months, then 2.5 points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 2 years. The calculation is the same as above, except the points are divided by 2.

The 2.461 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Millbank Care Home is based on 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as follows:

    1. 3 + 0.25 + 0.25 + 0.25 + 0.25 = 4 then divided by 2 = 2.000

    2. Target of 7.6 positive Reviews (38 registered maximum number of service users ÷ 5). 7 Reviews ÷ 7.6 Target = 0.921 , then divided by 2 = 0.461

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

My grandmother was admitted to Millbank Care Home following a fall and to recover from a water infection. These had left her unable to cope at home. The staff at the nursing home could not do enough for her they were always very friendly, very professional and always made us feel welcome. She was only in there for a short period of time but they took the time to get to know us and could never do enough to help. My mother had looked round a number of care homes and whilst we only found Millbank late in the process we were all very grateful that we did because the care and compassion shown to my grandmother was excellent. Above all else, she passed away peacefully and without any pain which was a blessing for us all and a significant part of this was down to all the team at the home. I, therefore, cannot recommend Millbank Care Home highly enough.

Thank you for your review of Millbank Care Home. Your comments are much appreciated and we are glad that we were able to play a small part in making her final days comfortable and peaceful. I will pass your comments onto the Manager and her staff.

From the first visit to the end of my mother's life the whole team at Millbank Care Home were very supportive and caring of my mother. The atmosphere throughout the home is friendly and welcoming yet very calm and respectful which has obviously been developed by the strong leadership team. I cannot fault the care my mum received during her time at Millbank, her views and wishes were listened to and acted upon. The ethos of the home seems very much focused on individualising the care of each resident. I cannot thank the home enough for their support of my mother but also to the whole family.

Thank you for your review for Millbank Care Home. I am glad that we were able to support your Mother and family whilst she was in our care.

My grandmother was not in the home long but the staff took the time to get to know her and made her feel at home and comfortable. The staff were all very helpful and friendly and at a difficult and sad time made her and us feel welcome, comfortable and safe. We are very grateful to all of the staff at Milbank Care Home for the care they provided.

Dad has always been looked after well. Nothing is too much trouble for them, always happy and helpful. Management excellent, easy to talk to. His room is adequate for his needs with en suite bathroom. Can visit at any time of the day. Dad has dementia, he is looked after very well. Any medical issues are dealt with. Would recommend the care home to anyone.

Thank you for your review. It is good to hear that you feel your Dad is being looked after well at Millbank and that you would recommend the home.

Mum has been well looked after since she arrived at Millbank in November 2015. The fact there is a key worker assigned to mums care was very good - a point of contact - but having two key workers on "nights" now hampers that contact slightly. However, that being so - the openness between the other girls means there is always someone who can answer questions when they arise. The home also seems to have a good relationship with the surgery and the doctor has contacted me at home on a couple of occasions - very reassuring. I feel mum is safe and well looked after.

Thank you for your review. It is always good to hear that our residents and families are satisfied with the service we provide. Your comments will be passed onto the Manager and her staff.

My mother has been living at Millbank for 18 months. She settled immediately and felt safe and comfortable and this for us as a family was wonderful. The staff and manager at this home are fantastic. Many have worked here for years, all local people are employed of all ages. They are caring, supportive, very friendly and always respectful. My mother regards them all as friends. As a daughter, I cannot thank them all enough.

Thank you for your review of Millbank Care Home. Your comments will be passed onto Diane and her Team.

When I came into Millbank Care Home I had a chest infection, then contracted a water infection. I was so ill I had no appetite, could not face food or even a cup of tea, and now thanks to the care of the staff and their attention, my health is much improved.
I cannot fault anything, food, cleanliness and treated with dignity all down to good management. I would not hesitate to recommend Millbank Care Home to anyone.
