The Review Score of 9.5 (maximum of 10) for Cressingham House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.
a) The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 18 Reviews over all time. This Average Rating is also the rating value for Cressingham House in Google's Search Results - more info
b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.8 out of 5 from 4 positive Reviews in the last 12 months.
a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating of all Reviews over all time. For each review the Care Home / service is rated Excellent, Good, Satisfactory, Poor or Very Poor on a number of areas eg Staff, Management etc. The Care Home receives points for each rating as follows: Excellent = 5. Good = 4. Satisfactory = 3. Poor = 2. Very Poor = 1. These points are added up and then divided by the total number of completed ratings to generate the average rating.
The Average Rating of 4.744 for Cressingham House is calculated as follows: ( (162 Excellents x 5) + (44 Goods x 4) + (5 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 211 Ratings = 4.744
b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 12 months. If there are no Positive Reviews in the last 12 months, then 2.5 points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 2 years. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with 'Extremely Likely' or 'Likely' in answer to the question 'How likely are you to recommend this Care Home to friends and family if they needed similar care or treatment?'
The 5 points available are broken down as follows:
4 points are available for the first 5 Positive Reviews, 3 points for the first Positive Review and then 0.25 Points for each of the next 4 Positive Reviews.
1 point is available for reaching a target number of Positive Reviews based on 20% of the number of registered maximum number of service users. If the target is partially reached then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home with 50 registered maximum number of service users has a target of 10 Positive Reviews, if it has 10 or more Positive Reviews it will receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews will receive 0.7 points.
If there are no Positive Reviews in the last 12 months, then 2.5 points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 2 years. The calculation is the same as above, except the points are divided by 2.
The 4.75 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Cressingham House is based on 4 positive Reviews in the last 12 months and is calculated as follows:
3 + 0.25 + 0.25 + 0.25 = 3.75
Target of 3.2 positive Reviews (16 registered maximum number of service users ÷ 5). 4 Reviews ÷ 3.2 Target Reached = 1
When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

Amazing, fantastic, personable, friendly, caring, great sense of humour, all describe the staff at Cressingham House. I'm extremely impressed by them. My mother was suffering a deep depression but after only two or three days my mother improved. They are all excellent in Cressingham House.

I have been a resident at Cressingham House since October 2016 and have no complaints whatsoever. all residents are treated with dignity, respect and humorous by the staff as well as keeping a keen eye at all times for any situation which required attention.
As indicated below, I think perhaps a little more could be done as regards to activities.

This is the third time Mum has been to stay so I can have a trip away, I pick her up and she is totally chipper!
Love this place, Mum is so happy here, she has a holiday, which makes me happy. Can't fault it. Management, staff are excellent.
Mum is booked in again, I know she is in a safe and caring place so makes my time away fretful free, don't want to shout too loudly about how fab it is, so there is always a space for Mum so I can have a trip away.

A close male friend of one of the residents and visiting on a daily basis, I have found on all occasions that all the residents were happy and well cared for, The greeting at the door was always pleasant and welcoming. The home was always clean, bright and well maintained with all residents known and spoken to by name.

Mum has been a resident since September 2016. She has found it difficult especially due to the circumstances of her going in. She has been awkward but is gradually settling. The staff have been really great with her and she is starting to laugh and take part in things. Her room is lovely, really cosy. The whole place is really comfortable. Home from home! The staff have been lovely with me as my daughter died very suddenly just before mum went in, leaving two young children who I help with now. I can't praise the home enough and have already recommended it.

This care home offers an outstanding service. It is extremely homely, comfortable and immaculate. The staff are polite, warm, pleasant, caring, professional and approachable and I have every confidence in them all. The manager is extremely capable and offers a wealth of experience in this field. My Mum is lucky to have been allocated a room here. She went in for two weeks respite whilst we were on holiday and asked to stay - speaks for itself, I think!

This care home is a pleasure to visit. The staff are consistently calm, pleasant and professional. I have never heard any resident calling for help, they all appear happy and well-dressed and content to be where they are. The place is scrupulously clean and smells fresh and is always warm. The resident I visit is positive that she is much safer, happier and less stressed than she was in her own home with carers attending daily.

Lovely home, very clean, staff very friendly and informative, always ready to help. Very approachable, food great, mum always has a selection to choose from. Mum went in for respite and settled in very quickly, she made friends and started to socialise with other residents and staff. I couldn't recommend this home more highly and I can't thank the staff enough, I've got my mum back.

My wife recently spent a week of respite care in Cressingham House and it was a totally positive experience. The staff, thoroughly professional, were warm, caring, and always available. They did everything possible to make my wife's stay both comfortable and enjoyable. They passed lot of time talking to her. Her room was lovely. The meals were excellent. And everyone who visited her commented on how very welcome they were made to feel, and what a homely atmosphere pervaded the house. My wife will be going into respite care again later in the year, and Cressingham House will be our first choice.

I find the house alright. I'm happy with my room. The staff are lovely and look after me very well. I feel that my opinion counts for something and I feel values. With my limited mobility the staff are always helping and assisting me so I'm included in all that is going on.

I love it here, the girls are so nice and look after me so well. I looked at other homes and wasn't to sure about them but when I came here I just knew it was the place for me. My wish is to stay here for as long as I can. I feel safe and supported.

I came to visit my nan last month and staff asked if I could gill this out so I gladly obliged. I love the feel and warmth of this home and visiting my nan is always a pleasant experience. The staff are always so nice and ask us if we would like a drink. The home is very inviting and such a good atmosphere within the group of residents, it's like one big family.

In April 2015 we urgently needed to find residential care for my 90 year old mother who was increasingly unable to manage at home alone.
From our first contact with Cressingham House we have been very impressed with the level of care and support that has been provided.
Their focus is entirely on the wellbeing of the resident and their whole approach is tailored to addressing their individual needs.
In addition they keep us, the family, informed at every stage about anything at all that happens regarding Mum.
This is a great relief as we are all over 200 miles away and it is very reassuring to know that she is in such skilled, caring hands and that those looking after her really care for her welfare.

This is a very good care home with very good carers. The food is all freshly cooked with a choice of menu. It's the nearest thing to being at home.
