Awful experience. The accommodation is new and modern and enticing. However, the care is substandard. The actual staff are pleasant and seem hard-working but there does not appear to be enough of them. The managing staff and reception are rude and unfriendly with no compassion. I certainly wouldn't recommend this home if you are looking for a caring establishment.

My room, with a fantastic view of the beach, has helped my well-being, watching people and the weather has been amazing. Made lovely friends with both staff and residents.
The Moorings was recommended to us by a friend and this has been the first time my mother has been in residential care for some respite for me who is her full-time carer - like with any change, my mother was apprehensive but after picking her up today she could not have spoken more highly of her stay and found all the staff and facilities first class - so much so she is already planning her stay next year. Thank you so much for taking excellent care of her, she loved it.
I think, for what it is worth, the staff here are a credit to the home.
I particularly like the enthusiasm staff demonstrate when providing entertainment and activities for residents.
The management is very good at keeping me informed of any changes in my mother’s health and care. They have kept all the residents safe during the Covid-19 epidemic and have been meticulous in their processes, allowing safe visiting when appropriate.
In conclusion, I consider the care at The Moorings to be excellent and I never hesitate to recommend it to others.
If I wanted to check out more places I could have done but I felt I didn't need to look any further. I was right! I'm made so comfortable and well looked after.
My mum has been at The Moorings for approximately 4 years now. In all that time I have found every aspect of the care provided to be excellent. She is very happy and settled there. The facilities are marvellous and the staff fantastic. It is a very happy, welcoming place with a truly caring and dedicated staff team who consistently do their best for the residents. The reassurance of knowing she has been in such safe hands during this awful covid period and times of lockdown has meant the world to me. They have done their absolute best to facilitate contact and visits as permitted during difficult times. Despite the additional difficulties, hardships and pressures the team must have faced during covid times they have maintained high standards of care and kept a very happy home going for the residents. I can't thank or praise the team highly enough.
During the recent pandemic, I have truly appreciated just how lucky Mum is to be cared for in the Moorings. The level of hygiene, care and protection offered to all the residents, the adherence to covid protocols and clear, concise and timely communication to all concerned has been excellent.
It is truly a 5-star care home - presenting itself as a 5-star hotel. Well done and thank you to everyone involved.
It's better than some hotels that I've paid a lot of money to stay in. Thank you.
I am very happy to be part of the wonderful Moorings. My ratings are how I feel about the place. Please keep up the good work. Oysters and caviare!
Since arriving here I have felt completely at home. I have plenty to occupy me. Different games, plenty of books and other things to occupy my mind. When I've been in pain they are more than happy to help me.
The Moorings has been the home of my dad and stepmother for over 3 and a half years. It has really been a home in all senses - not just a name but somewhere my dad, in particular, has felt safe, happy and settled. We, his family, have been so relieved that what could have been quite a difficult adjustment for him has been very positive. His room is great with fantastic views over the sea and sand dunes. Staff are brilliant in knowing his likes and dislikes. Living with Covid over the last 18 months has been extremely difficult for everyone, but knowing that their best interest was always at the heart of their care and the overall management of the Moorings was in such good hands has made life not seeing them bearable. Thank you to all staff in all areas for going above and beyond during these difficult and hard times and being family to the residents.
Mum has been in the Moorings for 7 years, following 3 visits for respite. This most beautiful care home overlooks the sea and is a 10 minute stroll to St Annes on Sea. The rooms are of different sizes set on 3 floors with 2 spaced out lifts. The residents have daily housekeeping, laundry plus newspapers if required. Food is served in the Bistro, with a varied breakfast, lunch and evening meal. Every day the activities coordinator puts together exercise, music and craft. Covid permitting, the minibus takes the residents out on trips and there is a hairdresser, cinema and games room. The staff are wonderful, caring compassionate and always happy to update you regarding how your loved one is getting on. Mum is 94 and has recently been poorly. She has been so well looked after and I can't thank each and everyone enough.
15 months later, my grandma is in the best health she’s been in despite lockdowns, Covid and the uncertainty of the future months!
The staff are wonderful, knowledgeable and so caring.
The home is immaculately clean and I know how much this has meant to my grandma personally, especially during Covid.
The activities coordinator is excellent and the themes she comes up with gets everyone involved.
There’s always something for the residents to get involved in.
My grandma has settled in well despite the lack of contact with me and my family due to lockdown, but they have gone above and beyond to ensure resident safety and kept all relatives up to date. Thanks will never be enough.
I entered the home directly from hospital following hip replacement surgery. I was very well looked after by the staff, especially when an emergency arose. They called out district nurses and obtained medication for me. They are genuine, caring people and I would recommend them to anybody.
My Father moved to The Moorings in March 2020. Initially tricky for him to adjust to the change in his independence, he started appreciating the different aspects which residing at The Moorings offers. He loved the varied menus, especially the cooked breakfasts. He enjoyed the variety of daily activities on offer, relaxing lounges and the excellent company of fellow residents. He enjoyed the other amenities and comfort of his ensuite room. He appreciated interactions with all the individual staff members.
When his health recently plummeted the staff teams provided the best possible dignified nursing care. Spending time with him I witnessed the quality of care and commitment of every member of staff attending him. It was humbling to see the outstanding level of care and professionalism. Sadly he recently passed away. The staff hold my respect and thanks for making Dad's last year so happy and fulfilled, and our family's gratitude and thanks to all involved in every aspect of his care
I moved to the Moorings from London in August 2016 following the death of my wife. The Moorings is a purpose-built beautifully equipped care home in St. Annes and overlooks the promenade and the Irish Sea. Four and a half year residence here I have been looked after to a very high standard and have never ever encountered any unpleasantness or bad behaviour by any member of staff. Food is excellent with three or four choices per meal. All the staff are very caring and I am very happy and contented here in spite of the restrictions necessary due to Covid-19
Lovely visit. just the job. The rest was just what was needed. Smashing staff.
I enjoyed an excellent stay at the Moorings Residential Care Home.
