We moved to The Moorings in 2018, I in support of my wife who has Parkinson’s. She has always received the best care and attention from the staff here, especially under very difficult circumstances during the lockdown. Management have gone the extra mile in facilitating family visits, with two designated
areas that comply with government guidance. A new activities person has been employed and there are many different things for the residents to do on a daily basis. The Head Chef always takes any feedback on board and meals are varied and nutritious. Our rooms and public rooms are very clean.

My husband had never been to the Moorings before so both of us were apprehensive, no need! He was very happy there for his respite, despite having to isolate at the beginning due to covid rules. He said the staff were very kind and thoughtful. The food was very good and varied. The highlight of his
stay was the party when he was jiving with a staff member, the only resident dancing at the grand old age of 88! Thank you as I was undergoing an operation, so I had peace of mind.

With no one allowed in home or allowed out it's rather difficult to assess the situation. Shortcomings will always be there. Unfortunately, a fair assessment will not be forthcoming until lockdown is over. The staff are wonderful.

A beautiful purpose-built care home with lovely views over the Irish Sea. very caring management and staff who during the current virus lockdown have performed magnificently to try to make all the residents feel safe and secure in spite of all the stresses and problems that have arisen through lack
of contact with our families and friends ok. I have been a resident here for over 4 years and have enjoyed every day of my stay at The Moorings.

Excellent staff and accommodation. Great activities and social events. Lovely location overlooking the beach. The standard of the food needs improving, ie., the meat served is often tough and unmanageable for elderly people. Also, the food is often lukewarm. Having said that, the fresh soup served daily
is excellent.

My wife and I have spent two weeks at The Moorings while our daughter and son in law, with whom we share a house, have visited their son in New York. This was, therefore, respite stay. The accommodation is very good and so is the varied and imaginative food. Helpers assisted willingly and competently
when required, particularly helping my wife, who has considerable mobility problems due to arthritis, but also advancing years. She would naturally have preferred to stay at home, but acknowledge the reasons for our stay here. Our sincere thanks are due to all the staff, of whatever uniform colour. Poor weather kept us largely indoors, but this was in good accommodation.

My father had a 1 week respite stay at The Moorings whilst I went away on holiday to give my mother a break. He thoroughly enjoyed his stay, noting, in particular, the excellent facilities, praising the care and compassion shown by all the staff, and commented on the enthusiasm with which the management
and staff approached their work. My mother and myself would also like to thank everyone at The Moorings for the way that we, as a family, have been dealt with in a courteous and inclusive manner.

I spent a month as a respite resident from the 9/12/19 to 10/1/20 over Christmas and New Year whilst my niece and nephew visited their son and daughter in Australia. I could not have been treated better than if I had stayed in a 5-star hotel. All staff and management treated me with great respect. I
had a lovely room with a balcony overlooking the sandhills and sea in St. Annes-on-sea.

We came home feeling rested and the care we received was very good. We came for a week to have a rest and a holiday and we got that. However, if some rooms are to be let to people like us perhaps more activity in the evenings would be good.
