We moved to The Moorings in 2018, I in support of my wife who has Parkinson’s. She has always received the best care and attention from the staff here, especially under very difficult circumstances during the lockdown. Management have gone the extra mile in facilitating family visits, with two designated areas that comply with government guidance. A new activities person has been employed and there are many different things for the residents to do on a daily basis. The Head Chef always takes any feedback on board and meals are varied and nutritious. Our rooms and public rooms are very clean.
My husband had never been to the Moorings before so both of us were apprehensive, no need! He was very happy there for his respite, despite having to isolate at the beginning due to covid rules. He said the staff were very kind and thoughtful. The food was very good and varied. The highlight of his stay was the party when he was jiving with a staff member, the only resident dancing at the grand old age of 88! Thank you as I was undergoing an operation, so I had peace of mind.
With no one allowed in home or allowed out it's rather difficult to assess the situation. Shortcomings will always be there. Unfortunately, a fair assessment will not be forthcoming until lockdown is over. The staff are wonderful.
A beautiful purpose-built care home with lovely views over the Irish Sea. very caring management and staff who during the current virus lockdown have performed magnificently to try to make all the residents feel safe and secure in spite of all the stresses and problems that have arisen through lack of contact with our families and friends ok. I have been a resident here for over 4 years and have enjoyed every day of my stay at The Moorings.
Made to feel very welcome and found my room was comfortable, cleaned every day and I was very well looked after.
I really enjoyed my stay at the Moorings as everyone treated me so well.
Excellent staff and accommodation. Great activities and social events. Lovely location overlooking the beach. The standard of the food needs improving, ie., the meat served is often tough and unmanageable for elderly people. Also, the food is often lukewarm. Having said that, the fresh soup served daily is excellent.
My wife and I have spent two weeks at The Moorings while our daughter and son in law, with whom we share a house, have visited their son in New York. This was, therefore, respite stay. The accommodation is very good and so is the varied and imaginative food. Helpers assisted willingly and competently when required, particularly helping my wife, who has considerable mobility problems due to arthritis, but also advancing years. She would naturally have preferred to stay at home, but acknowledge the reasons for our stay here. Our sincere thanks are due to all the staff, of whatever uniform colour. Poor weather kept us largely indoors, but this was in good accommodation.
My father had a 1 week respite stay at The Moorings whilst I went away on holiday to give my mother a break. He thoroughly enjoyed his stay, noting, in particular, the excellent facilities, praising the care and compassion shown by all the staff, and commented on the enthusiasm with which the management and staff approached their work. My mother and myself would also like to thank everyone at The Moorings for the way that we, as a family, have been dealt with in a courteous and inclusive manner.
Also, the staff are a pleasure to be around.
I spent a month as a respite resident from the 9/12/19 to 10/1/20 over Christmas and New Year whilst my niece and nephew visited their son and daughter in Australia. I could not have been treated better than if I had stayed in a 5-star hotel. All staff and management treated me with great respect. I had a lovely room with a balcony overlooking the sandhills and sea in St. Annes-on-sea.
Very satisfied with my stay. I was treated with care and dignity. The staff could not have been more welcoming or helpful. I was not there long enough to enjoy all the activities offered.
A lovely friendly environment with very helpful and caring staff. My observations are from a short term respite perspective following hospitalisation and surgery.
The staff are all so friendly and willing to help in any way. No complaints at all.
Extremely welcoming right from the beginning. Staff on every level are kind and extremely caring. I felt at home and have enjoyed being looked after. Thank you to everyone.
We came home feeling rested and the care we received was very good. We came for a week to have a rest and a holiday and we got that. However, if some rooms are to be let to people like us perhaps more activity in the evenings would be good.
No words high enough to praise it.
Thank you so much for the care and support you all have given to my mum while staying at the Moorings. Everything was excellent. My mum is looking forward to coming back next year.
Mum and dad enjoyed a relaxing week staying at The Moorings in July. All the staff were very friendly, caring and helpful. They are looking forward to staying there again soon.
I'm looking forward to my next visit, in June, and I promise not to bring my violin.
Thanks and very best wishes to all. What a beautiful location!
