My mother went into Moorings Residential Care Home on a respite basis in January 2019, following a decline after a hip replacement operation culminating in several falls. Her appetite had failed, she was not active, and her mental state was declining because of that. The Moorings worked patiently with
mum for months until, at the end of April/beginning of May there was a sudden breakthrough, with significant improvements across the board. She will have to stay in residential care, but the quality of life my mum will now have is so much better because of the work done by Moorings.

My father was resident here from January 2017 until August 2018. During that time he was very happy and comfortable, receiving individual attention from a team of helpful and knowledgeable staff who were aware of his specific requirements, remained good-humoured and had time to help him and banter with
him. The management team clearly empowered all their colleagues, in whatever role, to be both competent and personable, while themselves being consistently very approachable and knowledgeable about individual patients. The home is very well appointed, decorated and maintained with an atmosphere that was friendly, inclusive and accommodating to both residents and guests.

The home is exceptionally well presented and laid out. The staff are extremely attentive to the residents attending to their every need. There are plenty of activities that residents can join in with and there is a positive environment where all the residents appear to be included like a family. Cannot
fault the place.

I think the great advantage of Moorings is that it has been purpose-built to care for people by those who have worked in this field for many years. The rooms, if not sound-proofed are nearly so and you feel that you do not disturb neighbours or them you!
The facilities are excellent, hair, feet, etc.
can be done on the premises without much fuss.
Activities are well organised and staff generally helpful.

My room is not 5 star due to poor quality bed. The service could be improved with more carers, two on at night means that they haven't time to put patients to bed at times convenient to them. The same applies in the morning. Activities are restricted to daytime and not sufficient. No nighttime activities
when most residents go to rooms.
I did enjoy my stay at The Moorings and it was enjoyable and was overjoyed with the location, sea views from my room and the accessibility for my power wheelchair was excellent. I am looking forward to spending my respite breaks with The Moorings again next year.

We are pleased that the resident enjoyed his stay and plans on returning. We have had the opportunity to speak with him and clarify his review.
Unfortunately, we could not accommodate the residents' request for two mattresses stacked on top of each other on the bed due to health and safety reasons. The comment regarding two carers being on at night is unintentionally misleading. In fact, there are additional senior carers on duty who are always on hand to provide assistance when required. Similar can be said with regards to the comment about the morning when there are a significant number of additional support staff on duty to ensure all needs are attended to.
With regards to activities, in order to recruit safely, we must apply for enhanced DBS and reference checks for all staff. Unfortunately, we were awaiting these for our minibus driver during the residents' stay. Additionally, the dates of the residents' stay meant that he missed some of the larger events held at the home in the evenings.
We look forward to seeing the residents' back at The Moorings in the spring.

Our relative, although physically well, suffers such extreme anxiety and depression it rendered her unable to look after herself at home.
She chose to live at The Moorings and has since been treated with dignity and understanding.
The facilities are second to none and all the staff are friendly and
helpful. We know she made the right decision.

My Mum has been at The moorings for over two years and the care has been wonderful. I am always kept up to date on appointments, meds etc. I can go and ask for advice or just talk at any time, which is very important to me as I can not be there 24/7. I visit twice a week and am made to feel a part of

A beautiful home in an equally beautiful location. Caring and kind hearted staff who genuinely seem to like/love the work they do and their residents. Light airy lounges with library and a wide variety of books and games. Lovely restaurant with well prepared meals with choices and dietary needs accommodated.

My mum was in The Moorings for nearly two years. The care she got was first class, just like a family. The staff were simply wonderful, it was her home and we were all made to feel welcome, taking my grandchildren in to see all the residents. We used to say she was living it up at The Moorings five
star hotel.
Sadly when mum passed away in September we kept her in The Moorings which is what she wanted to do. Myself and my daughter slept by Mums bed for eleven days and nights and we were looked after amazingly.
My mum passed away with dignity, all thanks to The Moorings. I actually miss going into this wonderful home.

A lovely, caring and vibrant care home. The staff are very compassionate, empathetic and friendly. The sales and relationship manager is very professional and actually listened to all our family's initial concerns. A true professional who puts you at ease. The residents are always encouraged to take
part in the abundance of activities and the settings in the home are colourfully decorated which makes the care home very welcoming. I would wholeheartedly recommend the home to anyone who may have reservations and encourage you to speak to the sales and relationship manager.

My mother was a resident at The Moorings for the last year of her life, from the age of 103 to 104. She was happy and very well cared for and I found the staff of all levels, most obliging and compassionate.
Towards the end of her life she did need a lot of extra care and attention, and my goodness,
she got it. The staff made sure she was spending most of her time in amongst the other residents, joining in with the many organised activities and that kept her constantly stimulated.
As she gradually became more frail, she was not put to bed and left for long periods which could have shortened her life. She was up and dressed and watched over.
I was never given any reason to doubt the care she was getting and the fact that she lived to well over 104 was proof of the level she received.
During the last three months of her life I was in and out and seeing her on a daily basis and I didn't see a single thing that took away that confidence I had.

What a beautiful place and should be the way forward for all care homes. The place felt very welcoming, happy staff and with lots going on. A lovely location overlooking the sand dunes and sea and just a short walk to the prom. This place was more like a hotel with beautiful decor and lots of facilities.
When my time comes, I do hope I can live in a place like this. A special thank you to the sales and customer relationship manager for all her help.

I have visited many care homes and I have never come across such as one like this. First class through and through. Thought I had gone to a 5-star hotel by mistake. Welcoming reception, high-class decor and amazing warm welcome by the staff. The food and entertainment are first class. The staff were
incredible, especially the sales and relationship manager so knowledgeable and pleasant and nothing was too much trouble. Well done to the manager, I can tell you love your job and how committed you and the care staff are! A truly amazing place.

The staff made me feel very welcome. They were all very friendly and caring. In particular, the cleaners were helpful and worked extremely hard. It was like staying in a 5* hotel. I was apprehensive before going in but the managers visited me at my home and put my mind at rest. Throughout my stay everyone

The reason I came here I lost my wife after 66 years married, at the time the home was more or less built and finished. It does not seem like a care home but could be a 5 star hotel. The staff and medical facilities I found excellent and if privacy is important not a problem. So in my 3rd year here
I have to desire to return to Yorkshire where I lived.
