Overall Experience
My mum arrived at Preston Private care home in January 2025 following time in hospital. The staff made Mum very welcome and family too. Physically they got more mobile from being bedridden to a wheelchair and taking part in activities and stimulated during the day enabling full sleep at night. Sadly she passed away on 26th February 2025 but during her time in the home she was cared for lovingly and the team were great support to family.

Recently completed feedback on Preston Private care home the team on Ferny ward were brilliant in their care and support for Mum and family. Mum faded away through the frailty in old age so never really ate anything which is why I can't comment on food or VFM. They managed to get Mum a little more mobile and up in the day room. Really felt Mum was in a lovely cuddle during her time there.

My mum stayed at Preston Private in respite following a stroke. I cannot praise the team there enough for the exceptional care that she received during her stay. From the senior team, to the fabulous cooks, meticulous cleaners and amazing carers- they all work so hard to make sure the residents get the best care. It was peace of mind to know that mum was safe and very well cared for whilst she started her recovery. A huge thank you to everyone there!

My mother is 95 years of age and has been a resident for about 18 months and is very happy with the care she has received, she often says I'm so glad you picked this home, I wouldn't like to be anywhere else but here. I have been away for 9 weeks and whilst away my uncle had a fall. He was taken very good care of and is now fit and well again. The staff give me complete confidence in their caring ways, making my uncle very happy and content. Nothing is too much trouble and any concerns I may have are quickly addressed. My mum spent 6 years at Preston Private Nursing Home and was not the easiest to deal with but even she was at her happiest whilst living at this care home. I just want to say thank you to all the staff.

The care my Dad has received since moving him to Preston Private has been second to none, the staff explained everything to us from day one and are always happy to listen and address any concerns which have been minimal.

All the staff have been fantastic, other establishments should really take note of what PP are doing.

Meet Lisa – Unit Lead, Ladywell Residential Unit

I began my journey in the care sector in 2016 as a Care Assistant, driven by a desire to make a difference in the lives of others. After gaining valuable hands-on experience, I completed my Level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care and progressed to the role of Senior Carer on the Ferny Unit (Dementia Unit). In 2022, I broadened my professional experience by working for the NHS for 12 months. This period greatly enhanced my clinical knowledge and gave me a deeper understanding of care within a wider healthcare context. Upon returning to Preston Private, I was proud to help support the opening of the high-needs residential Ladywell Unit as a Senior, and shortly after, I was given the opportunity to step into the role of Unit Lead, a position I genuinely love and take pride in.

I am passionate about delivering excellent, person-centred care to our residents and strive to create a warm, supportive environment for both residents and their families, especially during difficult times when important decisions need to be made.

Being a part of the Preston Private team means everything to me. I am committed to continuous learning, leading by example, and ensuring every resident receives the respect, dignity, and quality of life they deserve.
