The annexe is lovely and cosy, not too many residents. The care they receive is extremely good, all the staff are very caring and take the residents' wishes on board. Several activities are provided but they need to publish these so the relatives know what's been happening. Food appears to be good quality although a weekly menu displayed would be good.

The overall care has been good but my criticisms are;
Lack of persistence in cutting his nails.
Lack of shaving and haircut.
Lack of any entertainment except TV.

The home acknowledges the concerns raised and will endeavour to ensure that these concerns are addressed when possible, however, we can only adhere to these when the resident is compliant as we have to respect his right of choice.

Southfield is like a home from home. They all are very caring and nothing is too much trouble. They keep you informed about everything about your relative.

My mother has been in care homes for a number of years. The first year she was in another care home which was unsatisfactory, poor care. Moved her to Southfield and she has been there for approximately 8 years. We like the homely atmosphere and the care. This is most important to me.

My mother has been a resident since November 2015 but she is now in the final stages of life and receiving palliative care.
I have nothing but the highest praise for Southfield and, particularly, the staff and care which are the most important things we look for when making the very difficult decision of putting a loved one into care.
The staff have always been caring, friendly and kind, treating the residents as a family but with respect and dignity.
This is not 5-star luxury(though the rooms are very nice) but what makes it stand out is the care which I feel, is the most important thing.
Unfortunately, my mother is now at end of life and the staff could not be more compassionate and caring.
I would have no hesitation in recommending Southfield to anyone on that basis so please don't be fooled by cosmetic, superficial things but look at what's most important- how your loved one will be looked after and at Southfield you can rest assured that they will be extremely well cared for.

I have been visiting a friend over the past 2 years and I have always found all the staff very caring, considerate, patient and kind. They have always provided an excellent level of care and provision towards my friend as well as all the other residents.
Recently, during the stages of palliative care for my friend, I have been extremely impressed by the sensitive and caring approach towards my friend as well as all other friends and relatives. They have given a high level of dedication and commitment in this very distressing time towards my friend, myself and other visitors. This commitment far exceeds any expectations I may have had and I would highly recommend this establishment to everyone.
