The lounge at The Granby is the perfect place to enjoy afternoon tea and socialise as it looks out across the famous common, The Stray.
There is a superb collection of reading material including books, magazines and papers in the decadent library; now called Lord Byron’s library as this is where the famous bard wrote some of his literary works.
Residents can be treated to a new hairstyle in the hairdressing salon or even relaxing aromatherapy or reflexology sessions in the privacy of their own rooms.
There are attractive grounds in which to relax or take gentle exercise. For the more adventurous there is a seven-seater minibus equipped for wheelchair access which means residents can enjoy excursions both into Harrogate town centre and further afield. A range of recreational activities take place in the beautifully restored and original Crystal Ballroom.

After a long spell in hospital I realised that it would be impossible to live alone and on discharge moved into The Granby in June 2025. I was immediately impressed by the cheerful atmosphere. The staff were all smiling and made me feel welcome. My room was spacious and bright with a pleasant outlook. The first impressions have not changed. I never feel lonely. The staff are attentive even though very busy, the night staff in particular. All in all I am happy here.

Life is very different now, but it's good. I have made new friends and I am able to do the hobbies I love (well some, obvious reasons). All the staff are great, always helpful and caring. I have my low points but they are getting better now I'm settled.
