The Granby offers elegance and style and is a place in which residents feel pampered and cared for. The home provides residential, nursing, and respite care.

The Granby has undergone a full refurbishment, the modernised home includes a welcoming reception area, lounge and bar area and stunning dining room. All rooms have been tastefully redecorated in a number of elegant themes. In addition to this, the home also has a café, wellbeing suite and a luxurious cinema that residents can enjoy.

The lounge at The Granby is the perfect place to enjoy afternoon tea and socialise as it looks out across the famous common, The Stray.

There is a superb collection of reading material including books, magazines and papers in the decadent library; now called Lord Byron’s library as this is where the famous bard wrote some of his literary works.

Residents can be treated to a new hairstyle in the hairdressing salon or even relaxing aromatherapy or reflexology sessions in the privacy of their own rooms.

There are attractive grounds in which to relax or take gentle exercise. For the more adventurous there is a seven-seater minibus equipped for wheelchair access which means residents can enjoy excursions both into Harrogate town centre and further afield. A range of recreational activities take place in the beautifully restored and original Crystal Ballroom.

Everyone at the Grandby is extreamly welcoming and very helpful and do everything to help the residents and make there time here as fun as possible . They are always doing activities and putting on fun things to do everyday . they are kind and considerate for peoples needs .

At first I didn't want to be in a care home. I tried everything to go home but after time I settled in and made loads of new friends which are amazing and are who have helped me to be able to go home safely today.
I am going to miss everyone, the time has been great and all the activities and trips
out to my favourite places, pubs and bowling was a highlight.

Harrogate is a beautiful place. The Granby is surrounded by beauty all year round. Sitting out in the front garden during summer with the activities team and friends, having ice cream. My room is lovely. Everyone is caring and always happy and brighten my day. I have made new friends who I now see every
day, and we enjoy dominoes and relaxing in the lounges.

Life is very different now, but it's good. I have made new friends and I am able to do the hobbies I love (well some, obvious reasons). All the staff are great, always helpful and caring. I have my low points but they are getting better now I'm settled.

Thank you so much for the party in the ballroom. One of my family came all the way from Sheffield to join me for lunch then another friend came to see the magic show, he was a very clever man, good at his job. Then a lovely pony came. The staff all worked very hard to give us all a lovely Halloween

I found The Granby staff all excellent and cannot find any fault with any of the staff from management to the laundry staff. I would also like to thank all the carers that looked after my wife while in your care for the last 15 months. They could not have given her more care as I know how stubborn my

This is probably the only genuine review from a resident.
Where do I begin? Drinks get stolen by staff, and things go missing from the room. Beds not made properly, rooms not cleaned for days, no respect for your wishes of privacy. Overreach by management into your personal affairs, waiting 30 to 55
minutes for bell to get answered on average, staff not able to make a blended meal for peg users. Incompetency at every level.

A lovely home. Everywhere is decorated beautifully. Very welcoming and all of the staff are extremely helpful and kind. You are always made welcome when you visit. There are plenty of activities that the residents can do if they want to and regular visits from schools and different entertainers.
If you have any worries about your relative they always take it seriously and look into it. I’m also impressed with the number of drinks they are encouraged to have as I know how important it is to keep elderly people hydrated. There are lovely outdoor spaces when the weather is good and I'm impressed with the effort the staff put into taking out residents to the shop or just have a fun trip out.
It has taken a huge weight off my mind knowing that my dad is cared for and my visits to see him are now about enjoying his company.

Job Title: Home Manager Joined: 2023

Ruby graduated with a BS in Nursing Degree in 2000. She began as a nurse in the United Arab Emirates, working in the private medical team for the president. In 2004, she returned to Lebanon as a nurse in the accident and emergency department before becoming Deputy Nurse Manager and being trained in advanced nursing diagnostics. In 2009, she got a job with one of the best Ophthalmology surgeons in Lebanon. She managed three clinics as well as assisting in surgeries and diagnostic procedures. In 2017, she obtained a CELTA, which enabled her to work as a school nurse and an English teacher before she moved to the UK.


Ruby is a proud mother of two girls and enjoys reading, studying languages and a cappella choir singing in her spare time.
