Woodlands Neurological Rehabilitation Centre is set in three and a half acres of landscaped gardens and offers intensive assessment and rehabilitation for a spectrum of neurological conditions, including acquired brain injury or strokes.

The centre has a specialist four-bed spinal service for ventilated patients. Carers also provide longer term support for people with progressive neurological conditions such as Huntington’s Disease, Multiple Sclerosis and Parkinson’s Disease, or individuals who are minimally conscious or in a state of low arousal. They are able to support residents with on-going nursing care needs for example, as a result of diabetes, tracheostomy, epilepsy, open wounds, stoma or peg.

Enhanced respite packages offer 'top up' rehabilitation for individuals who have been through the rehabilitation process and are living back at home and want to maintain their independence and daily living skills. Respite referrals can be made by the individual, a family member or a legal or medical professional.

Woodlands is a Headway Approved Provider 2015-2017. The team use recognised clinical outcome measures such as FIM+FAM (Functional Independence Measure + Functional Assessment Measure), GAS (Goal Attainment Scale) and RCS (Rehabilitation Complexity Scale).

Reviews

9.7 Woodlands Neurological Rehabilitation Centre has a Review Score of 9.7 (9.724)

The Review Score of 9.7 (maximum of 10) for Woodlands Neurological Rehabilitation Centre is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 9 Reviews over all time. This Average Rating is also the rating value for Woodlands Neurological Rehabilitation Centre in Google's Search Results - more info

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5 out of 5 from 9 positive Reviews in the last 12 months.

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating of all Reviews over all time. For each review the Care Home / service is rated Excellent, Good, Satisfactory, Poor or Very Poor on a number of areas eg Staff, Management etc. The Care Home receives points for each rating as follows: Excellent = 5. Good = 4. Satisfactory = 3. Poor = 2. Very Poor = 1. These points are added up and then divided by the total number of completed ratings to generate the average rating.

    The Average Rating of 4.724 for Woodlands Neurological Rehabilitation Centre is calculated as follows: ( (80 Excellents x 5) + (21 Goods x 4) + (4 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 105 Ratings = 4.724

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 12 months. If there are no Positive Reviews in the last 12 months, then 2.5 points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 2 years. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with 'Extremely Likely' or 'Likely' in answer to the question 'How likely are you to recommend this Care Home to friends and family if they needed similar care or treatment?'

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 5 Positive Reviews, 3 points for the first Positive Review and then 0.25 Points for each of the next 4 Positive Reviews.

    2. 1 point is available for reaching a target number of Positive Reviews based on 20% of the number of registered maximum number of service users. If the target is partially reached then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home with 50 registered maximum number of service users has a target of 10 Positive Reviews, if it has 10 or more Positive Reviews it will receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews will receive 0.7 points.

    3. If there are no Positive Reviews in the last 12 months, then 2.5 points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 2 years. The calculation is the same as above, except the points are divided by 2.

The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Woodlands Neurological Rehabilitation Centre is based on 9 positive Reviews in the last 12 months and is calculated as follows:

    1. 3 + 0.25 + 0.25 + 0.25 + 0.25 = 4

    2. Target of 5.4 positive Reviews (27 registered maximum number of service users ÷ 5). 9 Reviews ÷ 5.4 Target Reached = 1

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

Woodlands TVU is a unit out of this world. The staff are so kind, helpful and friendly. I have been in the unit for 7 months now and have enjoyed my time here so much that I have applied for long-term residency. Nothing is too much trouble for Woodlands they bend over backwards to help you in any situation. They take me out for excursions and the depth of care is beyond reproach.

I thank them from the bottom of my heart for getting my daughter able to go back home.

Best wishes.

Thank you so much for your kind words. We wish you and your daughter all the very best.

All the people working and running this home are doing an amazing job. The nurses go above and beyond their caring work.

The building is very nice. The gardens need a bit more care but perhaps the gardener does not have enough hours to do it all.

Cannot fault anything.

Can not thank all there staff at Woodlands enough during my mum's visit.
From day one, they made every effort possible to help mum where they could, also looking after my dad when visiting.
End of life care was excellent and all staff did a lovely job well in caring for mum. My family are very grateful to everyone.

During my experience at Woodlands, visiting my uncle, I've found staff and management very approachable and able to answer any questions I have asked. Staff use a person centred approach, always monitoring privacy, dignity and respect. Offering choice to my uncle during mealtimes, ensuring all his need are met.

The staff and management were very accommodating to meet my father's needs when leaving hospital, and also very accommodating to us as a family when visiting. Everywhere was clean and tidy and professionally run.
