No one ever prepares you for the time you have no other choice but to place your glorious mum into residential care. Especially, when the only thing so important to you is keeping her in her own home with her beloved husband when he was so ill. It was a triple whammy for my mum, not only was she separated from my dad, through his admission to hospital through illness, but she endured being moved into care then my dad passed away.

I cannot begin to express my gratitude and respect for all at Cherry Tree Home, Coedpoeth. It was an utter nightmare for my fabulous mum and me but throughout our experience, everyone from management to every employee have been such a strong support, encouragement and reassurance. It's still early days yet, but my mum is totally safe, looked after and respected by all staff at Cherry Tree. I just simply don't know how they work so tirelessly in the name of their residents. I sincerely feel that they've walked alongside me through my most difficult days.

The care staff are doing an excellent job taking care of my Father in law, they interact with him throughout day, treat him with the dignity and respect he deserves.

The new manager and assist manager keep me well informed, I receive regular communication via emails, so they both need recognition also.

Reply from Carrie Williams, Registered Manager at Cherry Tree Care Home

Everything about the care home is exceptional and of a very high standard.
The staff are extremely caring, kind and gentle along with being professional and have excellent skills with elderly mentally infirm residents.
The management cannot do enough for residents and are very attentive towards them but also will do anything for family members to help ease the initial transition and anything thereafter.
The owners have made some wonderful changes/improvements with a lovely visiting pod, ‘tea room’ for residents and always keep the gardens lovely. There are gorgeous floral murals in many areas and regular visits from the hairdresser/beauty care team.
During the lockdown/Covid period it was a safe haven from the virus.
Staff moved in for weeks and it was in total lockdown protecting the residents and staff.

Winning an award was completely deserved and everyone involved in this home should be proud - well done!

There have been lots of improvements since the change of management. Feel able to discuss with the Manager and senior care staff any issues I may have with my husband's care plan, at any time; know ing that they will be dealt with sympathetically and resolved as soon as possible. All staff are polite, friendly and respectful.

Whilst staying here, I have always found my dad well cared for. The staff have been excellent - encouraging my dad with his day to day needs, without taking his choices away from him.
I have always found the staff friendly and they have time to listen to any concerns I have.

Dad's bedroom is very nice and always kept clean. He does appear to have settled here.

My mother-in-law has been here for two years and is now at end of life. The care she has received before her palliative care was outstanding. As a family, we never thought it could get any better but her end of life care has been more than we could have given if we had cared for her ourselves. The staff have been amazing. There are a few specific staff members that deserved to be thanked.

Dad has been here for the last 9 months after a series of falls and hospital stays. During his time here dad has received fantastic care. The staff are brilliant with him and are constantly talking to him and making sure that he is comfortable. Visitors are always made welcome and Cherry Tree has a very homely feel.

Excellent care. Very clean, second to none. Staff very approachable nothing is too much trouble. Our friend always appears clean and tidy, well shaven and very well cared for. The staff brought trays of tea and biscuits on our visits and get to speak with our friend in a very private area of the home (bar area).

My mother spent some time in Cherry Tree in respite care and I found everything to be of the highest standard. the staff were very respectful and caring and everywhere was spotlessly clean.
The manager and her assistant were very helpful with any queries raised and went out of their way to accommodate them.

there is also close proximity to the surgery which was very useful to have.

Both my parents are residents at Cherry Tree and they are very happy. The level of care given to them both is excellent. My father has recently had a spell in hospital - his illness was quickly identified by the staff who know him well and the correct action quickly taken, as well as informing me of the problem. On my latest visit to see my mother whose birthday it was the home had cake and celebrations organised for her at tea time!
