Carrie began her career in care at the age of 18 and has built over 25 years of experience within the health and social care sector. Early in her career, she progressed to a Rapid Response Leader role, developing strong clinical awareness and leadership skills.
Following the birth of her second son, Carrie took a step away from care to focus on her family and pursued a career in accounting, successfully achieving her diploma and AAT qualification. This experience strengthened her organisational, financial, and management skills, which she has since brought back into her care career.
Carrie returned to the care sector 10 years ago and has continued to progress professionally, achieving her Level 3 and Level 5 qualifications. She has worked her way through roles including Senior Carer, Deputy Manager, and Registered Manager, demonstrating commitment, resilience, and a passion for high-quality care.
Carrie is now the Manager of this 37-bed EMI residential home, where she leads her team in delivering compassionate, person-centred care for individuals living with dementia and complex needs. She is dedicated to maintaining high standards, supporting staff development, and creating a safe, homely, and supportive environment for residents and their families.
Outside of work, Carrie is a proud mum to four boys and has been married for 22 years. She lives in the countryside with her family, along with her two cocker spaniels and six cats, and enjoys the balance of a busy home life alongside her professional role.
Hi, I’m Aleeshya Shaji, and I work as a Senior Carer at Cherry Tree Care Home. I have 6 years of international care experience and 4 years of care experience in the UK. I joined Cherry Tree in 2024, and since then, I have really enjoyed being part of the team here. I love caring for people and making sure our residents feel comfortable, happy and well looked after. You will usually see me around the home with a smile, helping residents and supporting staff. I am kind-hearted and always try to bring warmth and compassion into my work every day.
Hi, I’m Claire Millisip, and I am one of the Senior Carers at Cherry Tree Care Home. Altogether, I have nearly 5 years of service here. I first started at Cherry Tree as a carer, and within a few months, I became a stand-in senior. I then moved on to working days as a senior carer. After taking some time away, I returned to Cherry Tree in a domestic role, and I am now back doing what I love. During COVID, I also lived in the home for 6 weeks alongside the team to help support and protect our residents. Cherry Tree means a lot to me – it truly feels like a second home, and the residents are like family. I love being part of their lives and making a difference every day.
Hi, I’m Jennifer Brodie, Activity Coordinator at Cherry Tree Care Home. I was a carer for 5 years, and after having my baby, I returned as the activity coordinator. You’ll usually see me around the home 4 days a week, keeping our residents busy and happy – making them laugh, dance, sing, colour, do clay work, pottery, puzzles, bingo… and the list goes on! I love bringing fun and creativity into their days, and seeing their smiles makes it all worthwhile.
Hi, I’m Wendy Edwards and I am the Head of Catering at Cherry Tree Care Home. I have been part of the Cherry Tree family for 6 years and love making tasty, home-cooked meals for our residents every day. I always enjoy seeing the smiles on residents’ faces when they enjoy their food, as making people feel happy and comfortable through good meals means a lot to me. I am known for always having a sweet smile, and I take pride in making sure everyone leaves the dining table feeling full, satisfied, and tummy happy.
Hi, I’m Dilsa, and I work as a Carer at Cherry Tree Care Home. I have 1 and a half years of care experience and have been with Cherry Tree for 6 months. I really enjoy being part of the team and love everything about this place – the management, my colleagues, the teamwork, and especially the residents. Being away from my home country, Cherry Tree has become my go-to place and feels like a second home to me.
Hi, I’m Lee Roberts, Ancillary Assistant at Cherry Tree Care Home. I have been part of Cherry Tree for the past 7 years and it really means everything to me. I love everyone here – the staff, the residents – and being part of this home makes me feel happy every day.
