Kington Court Annex provides pre-independence accommodation located in Barry. This specialised service is suitable for those requiring a ‘step-down’ or ‘step-up’ service for those with an acquired brain injury or mental health needs, specifically focussed on improving independent life skills and community rehabilitation.
The friendly supportive environment is designed to enable individuals to regain their independent life skills, cognitive skills and develop supportive strategies to give the confidence to take control of their life. Staff aim to work with individuals towards more independent living, such as a return home or into one's own tenancy.
All individuals have access to, and are overseen by a regional RMN clinical lead, clinical support nurse and specialist behaviour adviser, for support in psychological and physical health needs. They have a consultant clinical psychiatrist if required.
