Brook House Nursing & Residential Home

From the first contact the support and help you receive is excellent and everyone is very friendly coping with the challenges I was unable to manage. It has been an enormous relief to me that my husband is being cared for so well. Everyday he comments about how nice the team are. You can visit at any time and you're always made to feel welcome. I would recommend Brook House to anyone

Brook House has other benefits for my wife -- her church is across the green from the Nursing Home and she loves the food!! What's more the GP's Surgery and the Dentist are within walking distance. Altogether reassuring.

I feel my father is very well cared for by the staff. He appears to be very comfortable in his environment. He is well fed, clean at all times and well respected by the care staff who I personally have much fondness for. He is well liked by the staff and management and is very happy.

My father hasn't been in this home for long, as it was his birthday we asked if we could have a few family over to help him celebrate the day. We were offered a room and a buffet, the room was decorated with pics of my father doing in-house activities, some of which we didn't know he'd done. The home went above and beyond to make this difficult day a very special day for all of us. My dad really enjoyed it too. Thanks to the lovely staff.

I feel my mother is very well carried for at Brook House. The staff are very kind and patient, even when dealing with challenging behaviour. They were very supportive to me by taking Mum to dental appointments for me. I don't have to worry about her, everyone is friendly. The only downside is sometimes things I buy her go missing.

Overall my dad's care has been good. There are wonderful, hardworking, kind staff, carers, and nurses. There was a concern last year because a fan had been put directly in my dad's face making him very ill but after complaining it stopped. The nurses have been very good, kind and helpful apart from one who has left, this person didn't want to help and regularly shouted over me which was very intimidating. I do worry about the bedbound that the staff are having fun more downstairs. The food is fantastic and greatly enjoyed and always plenty of it.

My Mother has been at Brook House for 5 months. I am impressed with the home. The staff are very helpful. They care well for all the residents. The home has a real family atmosphere, and they are for their residents a lot. I'm hugely impressed with the manager. He is kind and does everything to make the families involved in the resident's care.

The only concern is the rapid increase in costs. The fee was £3,200 in June 2021 and now £6,100 a month! We are aware of the pressures but hope the increases are less in the future.

Brook House is a fantastic care home, all the staff are brilliant, friendly and helpful. Nothing seems too much trouble for them. My dad loved joking and chatting with them and all the other residents appeared happy as well. There are a wide variety of meals, all freshly prepared and the house and rooms were always clean and tidy. I would highly recommend this care home.

I'm very happy with the overall care of my grandmother and I feel her needs have been well met. Any health problems that have arisen have been quickly dealt with and she has been treated with much respect and dignity. Her room has been kept clean and tidy and each time I visit, she is always comfortable and is very content in her surroundings.

When you enter Brook House you're greeted by professional and friendly staff, it is very happy. The food is excellent and plenty of fresh fruit and always drinks available. Always feel it is a home, very clean and they make sure they are stimulated with games and painting. Each person is treated as an individual. Management is excellent, very approachable and will tell you if they are worried about your resident. The nursing staff, again, are the best and keep you informed about your resident. I am so happy that my resident is well looked after and safe.

Brooke House Nursing Home looks after the residents with lots of care and the carers look after the residents with love and respect day and night. I feel that the staff including nurses are all undervalued. I have complete confidence in all of them.

My grandmother has settled in well and is very safe, comfortable and well. The staff are helpful and dedicated and the home is nice and clean.

My mother has Alzheimer's and her general physical health has deteriorated in the last few months. The staff have responded to changes in her capabilities and needs with sensitivity and compassion. As a family, we feel that Brook House has become a home from home for our mum, which is of great comfort, as we had always wished to keep her in her own home. Thank you to all staff and particularly the new manager, who has made some very noticeable improvements.
