Review submitted from a Website Submission by Jackie D (Daughter of Resident) on Thursday 29 October 2015. Relates to October 2015.
My mother was transferred to this care home in November 2012 when she could no longer to look after herself at home even with domiciliary care.
She has been been very happy there. Her room is clean and comfortable and the home is in a lovely setting. She enjoys the food and gets on well with the staff.
The staff (many new ones too) are very friendly and helpful.
The home has been through very difficult times recently and is coming through with dignity after some bruising comments in the local press. These do not help staff morale and have led to some residents being fearful of having to move from their home. With support from outside agencies and the dedicated management team the home is definitely back on its way up. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. The lounges are lovely and warm with windows looking out onto the beautiful grounds. The horse rangers have moved to a field nearby and will be able to visit the residents with their horses. The new manager has lots of ideas and is supporting the staff and very friendly and approachable. I can only say that go and visit the home if you are looking for somewhere for your relative to stay you couldn't find a nicer setting or such a lovely old building.
