My mother was here after a fall and subsequent hospital discharge. In total, she was here for eighteen months before her passing away. She was bedbound for this time and unable to speak due to damage from fall.

She received very good care during her stay and I was contacted at any time required. Great team and highly recommend.

My mum was transferred to Alexandra Care Home straight from the hospital to receive palliative care in the last week of her life.
Mum was in a very poorly state and we had been advised by the hospital that she would not be with us for much longer. The staff at Alexandra care home went out of their way to arrange for Mum to be safely transferred to them.
She moved into her lovely decorated room, equipped with an air mattress to meet her needs. The staff were friendly, compassionate and welcoming.
Mum rallied for a couple of days eating and enjoying the food, she ate much more than she had in a long time.

Unfortunately, mums condition worsened and she passed away a week later but in the short time Mum was in the home she was kept clean, made to feel as comfortable as possible and pain-free. The final arrangements were handled efficiently and with care. I only wish my mother could have moved to Alexandra Care Home earlier. Thank you to all of the staff.

I found the home warm, welcoming and very friendly. On visiting my aunt for the first time, I could see she was being extremely well looked after by very attentive staff. She felt warm, protected and was very relaxed.

My mother was previously a resident in another care home and was subject to a safeguarding issue. We are delighted she was accepted to Alexandra care home. All aspects of her care are first-class.

The staff are extremely pleasant and kind. Variety of activities are available. Staff shortages over break times. Good choice of food on menus but sometimes there's a change to the menu on the day. Housekeeping is of a high standard. Management keep in close contact with staff and residents and are approachable.

My Auntie Margaret was very happy at Alexandra Care Home, in Hemel Hempstead. The staff were very caring and friendly. I was very impressed with the nurses reporting procedure. For the 18 months that she was there, I was kept aware of everything they did for her, changes to her health, medication etc. She loved her room, which was kept clean and tidy at all times and we were able to add a few personal touches for her. The entertainment staff kept her active and the kitchen staff seemed to go out of their way with personal touches, like birthday cakes etc. I would thoroughly recommend this home to anyone.

My father was only here for 6 days and those days were the longest and most stressful of my family's life. As I am not allowed to write my true thoughts, I will keep it short and sweet and simply say to not use this place if you want peace of mind. I am full of guilt for leaving my father here, and that will always be with me.

My overall experience of Alexandra Care Home is good. However, the home seems to have difficulty in dealing with noisy and disruptive residents.

My mum went to Alexandra Care Home after being in hospital for 2 months. She was very poorly with various things wrong with her. The settlement was challenging for her as this was her first time in care, but persistence by the staff has definitely paid off. The overall environment is warm and friendly, staff always listen to what you have to say. I recommend this care home.

The carers provide the best service possible to my nan. They always make sure she is clean, and well-fed and her overall well-being is good. They are very patient with her and always keep myself and my mother updated on any changes in how my nan is doing. All members of staff are very friendly and will do anything to make our visiting experience as optimal as it can be.

Our mum was only at Alexander Care Home for a week before her death but the care she received was brilliant. We were not able to see her to start with because of Government covid restrictions but the staff were helpful on the phone and we were able to have video calls. The staff were so supportive to Mum and us.
