My father became a resident at Cranmer Court in May 2016 after a 4 months hospitalisation due to bacterial sepsis. Although in the recovery period he was still extremely weak, requiring full nursing care to deal with his physical and emotional needs. However, the nature of his illness indicated that it was possible that he could make a full recovery and we chose Cranmer Court as it gave us the option of continuing nursing care if he did not improve, to preparing him to leave and live independently. Cranmer Court staff excelled taking my father from a frail, vulnerable, uncooperative newcomer to gaining strength in body and mind. My father left Cranmer Court in September 2016 and has returned to a happy independent life with his wife. We cannot thank them enough for giving our father his life back.

My mother had cancer and we needed the best nursing care for her final weeks. When we arrived at Cranmer Court everything was organised and in place. The staff all knew what they were meant to be doing and got on with doing it. I couldn’t believe the contrast with the home I had just removed her from. The efficiency and consistency at Cranmer Court was wonderful for us.

Nurses were pro-active, keeping a step ahead of me, thinking and acting upon how they could improve my mother’s deteriorating health. I visited every day, but was never made to feel a nuisance accessing them to discuss what was happening. My mother’s pain was kept under control.

Carers checked on my mother changing her regularly, they were kind & thoughtful. The chef provided the pureed diet without my having to check. The special milkshakes were particularly appreciated.

To have systems in place which provided efficiency & consistency & for everyone to adhere to them is down to the excellent management.

I have had an excellent experience with Cranmer Court. My fears for leaving my mother for respite were removed when I saw that the staff I met there were genuinely kind, caring and patient to the residents. The manager, nurses, carers and the chef showed that it wasn't just a job for them but showed that they enjoyed caring for the elderly. I like that they have 24hour nurses available for those who need nursing care, which my mother needed as she is diabetic. Her daily medication was given accurately, which is a large number of tablets with insulin injections and was recorded daily in their file. I was impressed how accurately her medication was given, to the same standards as I have seen when she has been in the hospital. Occasionally there was a problem with her incontinence pads, they were not changed as frequently as they should have but they have improved very much in that area. I was also very happy that they do activities for the residents too.

My father was only at Cranmer Court for 3 months and in very poor health when he arrived but the staff made an immediate effort to get to know him. He was a very dignified and private person and he was always treated with respect, patience and kindness. The staff made us, as a family welcome and would respond to any requests and questions in a calm and professional manner. The staff at Cranmer Court made a difficult situation bearable for dad and our family and we are so grateful.

Overall Experience

My father has been a resident at Cranmer Court for the last six months, he is extremely happy to be there.

My father has been treated with the best care from all the staff/nurses and he has also made many friends. The care the staff show to the residents is heart warming. They are treated with the greatest of respect and in a very friendly manner.

The home is exceptional clean and tidy and my fathers own room is a "home from home". The staff have called me several times and have always been polite and helpful.

The catering and menu choices for each day is superb and the dining area is spotless.

Daily activities at the care home keep my father amused and happy and get him out of his room to mingle with other residents.

I was concerned on a daily basis when my father was in his previous home, now I am so happy to know he is getting 1st rate care and attention. I would not hesitate to recommend Cramer Court to anyone looking for a suitable home for an elderly relative.

The care home my Mum is in is a remarkable place. The staff from the manager down to the domestic staff and all in between are amazing, wonderful, caring people. They always gave time to speak to use regarding any concerns and are extremely kind and caring to Mum. They all treat my Mum with the utmost respect although at times she can be quite trying. They are always courteous.
