We have found the care very good. The regular staff are always kind, cheerful and loving towards my father. This means a lot to us. We would like to see more regular staff - it is apparent that agency staff have to be used. It is very disappointing when long term staff leave after being told they have to move from Harleck House.
It's noted that there are more activities which my father really enjoys.
All this helps to make this difficult journey so much easier.

A big heartfelt thank you.

Avocet Care Home is one of the best care homes in Ipswich. The care my relative received was second to none. Not only that the staff care was exceptional. I found the management extremely approachable and had an open door policy. No matter how busy the staff and management are they always make time for us.
We were very anxious about our relative having to go into a home not to mention the guilt we felt about having to take such a decision. However the management and staff alleviated all our concerns and Avocet is a home from home.
My relative loves residing there and we have peace of mind knowing that not only are their nursing needs being met but also their emotional and environmental needs.

I can honestly say I would have no hesitation in recommending this home to anyone. It is the best care home for miles.

I just want to thank the staff on Cilgerran for everything they've done for my late husband. My husband was a resident at Avocet Court for a number of years before we had to make the very hard decision to relocate to be nearer our family. I relocated first and my husband stayed at Avocet until I found a suitable place for him to move to. During this hard time, the staff ensured my husband was taken care of and they kept me informed of everything as they knew how hard it was for us both being apart and this made it a little more easy to be apart from each other. I wish all the girls (as my husband would call them) all the best for the future.

My husband was admitted to Powys for palliative care. Unfortunately, he deteriorated very quickly. The staff ensured he was comfortable and pain-free at all times. They provided exceptional care for him in his last few days which brings great comfort to me. I also want to thank the staff as they not only cared for my husband but they supported me every step of the way. I can’t thank Avocet enough for giving my husband a good death.

Worried at first about leaving him but after just a few days it's perfect, 100%.
Staff are so kind and someone there all the time, they just have to ask for anything and somebody gets it for him. I cannot fault anything or anybody.
I cannot praise this care home enough.

It's the tops!

My dad was admitted to Harlech in April 2019 after a difficult decision. Since then the care and kindness that all of the staff have shown to my dad and all of our family has been overwhelming. The standard of the food is excellent. Whenever Dad is hungry snacks always provided. Cannot recommend highly enough.

My mother spent the last three months of her life at this Athena care home and she was treated with dignity and respect by the staff, the palliative care she received was exceptional. The staff are very caring and professional. She was always comfortable and pain-free, especially during her final days. The staff were always very kind towards me and my family and ready to explain any procedures that they would be doing for her. Her room was always fresh and clean. She didn't have a big appetite and her food was nourishing to make her eat as well.

My Auntie and best friend was 94 years old this month in the care home.
The staff are constantly a pleasure and a delight to know. The appreciation particularly on my part, as well as my aunts, is threefold. They’d supplied her with a most beautiful tea party for her birthday in a wonderfully ‘old fashioned' way which was simply heartwarming.
Whenever my aunt is asked either by myself (whose 300 miles away and in weekly face time contact with her) and her nearest long term friend who visits a few times a week, is she happy, she always answers “yes I am, I’m very well cared for here and very lucky, the staff are wonderful". What better to hear than that can I ask .

A certain member of staff (not allowed to say names, she knows who she is though) has been my right arm! She makes sure my aunt has regular fresh flowers at my request. As all I can say is, it’s a worry when your nearest and dearest have to be homed but I fear nothing at this home.

I have been at Avocet Care Home since September 2018. Their staff are friendly, funny and kind, they have a job to do but still have time to chat.
The management team are always around and would listen to any queries I had.

I am fairly independent but if I need help the staff are quick to respond.

It's always daunting having to place a loved one in a care home. But from the moment I turned up for my unexpected show round/ visit, I was instantly put at ease and all my fears disappeared. The team are so very welcoming, friendly, kind and caring. Nothing was too much trouble for any of them. They went out of their way to find out everything about dad and his personality to ensure I was shown the right house and the right environment. They were very open and honest and there was certainly no hard sell. They made everything easy for me and the rest of the family. Dad is so very happy, which in turn helps us relax knowing that he is in very safe hands.

My husband's auntie was cared for by the staff at Avocet Court in her final days. As a family, we couldn’t have asked for better care. We were very anxious as we had a bad experience before with care homes, from the day my relative was admitted to the home we were put at ease. Not only did the staff on the unit provide excellent care, the management team were fantastic, they communicated with us on a daily basis and always had time to listen to us. Once again we as a family can’t thank the staff enough they have totally restored our trust with the care industry.

I cannot praise the staff and management team enough for the wonderful care they provided my mother during her stay at Monmouth court. The staff were beyond amazing and the management team so approachable and supportive, this could be sensed a mile off. The facilities were fantastic and food wonderful, especially the afternoon tea held on Wednesdays but he home manager and deputy. The team listened to the needs of my mother and went out of their way to accommodate. We were always greeted at the main reception with a warm welcome and felt that we could discuss anything we needed with the team. The unit staff were so welcoming to us at all times and it really had a homely feel which was important to us.

Thank you so much for all you did for her during her stay.

The care given to my father is outstanding, the staff is so wonderful and understanding.
