The Review Score of 8.6 (maximum of 10) for Stanton Court Nursing Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 3.9 out of 5 from 6 Reviews over all time. This Average Rating is also the rating value for Stanton Court Nursing Home in Google's Search Results - more info

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.7 out of 5 from 5 positive Reviews in the last 12 months.

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating of all Reviews over all time. For each review the Care Home / service is rated Excellent, Good, Satisfactory, Poor or Very Poor on a number of areas eg Staff, Management etc. The Care Home receives points for each rating as follows: Excellent = 5. Good = 4. Satisfactory = 3. Poor = 2. Very Poor = 1. These points are added up and then divided by the total number of completed ratings to generate the average rating.

    The Average Rating of 3.901 for Stanton Court Nursing Home is calculated as follows: ( (20 Excellents x 5) + (31 Goods x 4) + (14 Satisfactorys x 3) + (5 Poors x 2) + (1 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 71 Ratings = 3.901

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 12 months. If there are no Positive Reviews in the last 12 months, then 2.5 points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 2 years. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with 'Extremely Likely' or 'Likely' in answer to the question 'How likely are you to recommend this Care Home to friends and family if they needed similar care or treatment?'

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 5 Positive Reviews, 3 points for the first Positive Review and then 0.25 Points for each of the next 4 Positive Reviews.

    2. 1 point is available for reaching a target number of Positive Reviews based on 20% of the number of registered maximum number of service users. If the target is partially reached then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home with 50 registered maximum number of service users has a target of 10 Positive Reviews, if it has 10 or more Positive Reviews it will receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews will receive 0.7 points.

    3. If there are no Positive Reviews in the last 12 months, then 2.5 points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 2 years. The calculation is the same as above, except the points are divided by 2.

The 4.694 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Stanton Court Nursing Home is based on 5 positive Reviews in the last 12 months and is calculated as follows:

    1. 3 + 0.25 + 0.25 + 0.25 + 0.25 = 4

    2. Target of 7.2 positive Reviews (36 registered maximum number of service users ÷ 5). 5 Reviews ÷ 7.2 Target = 0.694

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

Mum was made welcome into Stanton Court especially pleasing as she arrived in just before Christmas in December 2016 late in the afternoon. This could have been a difficult time to settle in, as a family, we felt the staff were very accommodating in getting to know her and her needs which they have endeavoured to meet. She has relaxed and settled into a new way of life and seems happy and content with how things are going. She very much appreciates the help she receives.

Stanton Court continues its tradition of providing caring and attentive support to its residents. I am very impressed with the progress the new (albeit temporary) manager is proactively making in dealing with issues that were picked up by the CQC and have accumulated over a long period of time. I have also been very pleased with the proactivity and responsiveness of the of the new owners and their team. I'm looking forward to Stanton Court going from strength to strength under its new regime and think this is still easily the best nursing home in the area.

Staff are lovely and very caring. I cannot speak highly enough of them. The food quality is excellent. My godmother seems very well cared for and I feel relaxed knowing that she is in good and capable hands.
The home itself has a homely feel but is a bit tired- the stair carpet has definitely seen better days and the building and rooms need some investment and sprucing. My impression is also (I may be wrong) that there is very little in the way of stimulation and activity - my godmother seems to have nothing to do and I've seen her interest and enthusiasm waned in the last few months, but under new management I am very confident that this is going to improve.

My uncle settled very well and is very happy. He feels safe and well cared for. We were impressed by the detail asked concerning his care, likes and dislikes and life history. The atmosphere is always welcoming and all staff are friendly and helpful. We were able to discuss the sort of vegetarian food he would enjoy and special provision is made. He likes to " do his own thing" and this is respected! As I am unable to visit very frequently the staff are always happy to talk on the phone and to pass news to my uncle. I have had concerns that I have not been notified if he has been unwell and needing a doctors visit. His mobility is poor but it would be good if during the better weather he could be encouraged and escorted out into the lovely gardens. Hairdressing may be better in a separate area? I think the Dining Room arrangements could be more attractive. It must be hoped that as the result of the CQC report the new owners will support staff in all areas that need improvement.

I was very pleased that The Home had a change of ownership in October 2016, as I was seriously considering reporting the old owners to the CQC. I am very hopeful that the new owners will make the very necessary improvements as they have indicated.
