My mother, Margaret, lived at Sycamore Lodge for 9.5 years. She arrived in 2017 after a stroke, with her Alzheimer's already advanced, and became their longest-serving resident. Her care was exemplary throughout. The staff were always caring, responsive, friendly and kept us well informed. In the early years, she loved the singing, parties and bingo. As her condition worsened, she was moved to a block better suited to her needs, and even when bedbound, she never showed obvious signs of distress. She passed away peacefully at Sycamore without needing to go to hospital. Knowing she was in such good hands was a great comfort to our whole family between visits. We would unreservedly recommend Sycamore Lodge to any family with a loved one living with dementia. Thank you, everyone.

The staff at Sycamore Lodge are friendly and helpful . It was my aunts birthday and they sang her happy birthday and had a cake made which made her feel special. She has settled well and seems happy there. So Thankyou for caring.

Our Mother has been at Sycamore just over three months. We feel very fortunate to have found such a welcoming care home that can cater for both the complex behaviours of Frontal Temporal Dementia and mums increasing physical needs. Many of the staff are long term employees and all treat the residents with kindness and respect and many times like their own family. We cannot fault their level of dedication especially the Deputy Manager who has supported us every step of the way. The programme of activities is extensive and there is always something for everyone. The volunteers that spends hours with our Mum doing jigsaws is so much appreciated as we live far away. The building is very accessible, clean, light and airy and very comfortable. The private garden is a calm oasis and very much a bonus to the high standard of living to be found at Sycamore. I have no hesitation in recommending you visit Sycamore Lodge to see how well it would suit your loved one.

The building has great natural light and the plants dotted around provide a nice atmosphere. The staff are always warm and welcoming. Mum feels settled in the home and feel she is very well looked after.

There was always something for mum to do there from daily activities to the music man on a Friday which she loved. She even won a best dancer award which she was so proud of.

During her final months, the staff did everything to make my Mum comfortable and pain free. Their care and compassion were exemplary both to my family and my Mum. All of the staff at Sycamore have always been incredibly welcoming and always in good spirits. They take the time to know each of the residents and their personal yet professional manner is outstanding. Over the 3 years, there were occasional issues and when I brought these up with the staff I always felt they were taken seriously , acted on quickly , dealt with professionally and were resolved quickly. Nothing was too much and I was always encouraged to bring anything to the attention of the management team . I was always kept updated by staff.

On the whole very pleased with Sycamore Lodge, very friendly staff and not as many agency staff as there used to be. So this means relationships between staff, residents and family are much better. The carers know the residents, especially with advanced dementia who can no longer speak/do things...
Overall I think everything is generally good, always room for some improvement.

The care staff are very caring to my mother in what must be a difficult job. Each time I visit there are lots of staff around. My mother is obviously well-fed, and clean with good personal grooming. The home is clean and well looked after.
