Reviews

9.4 Westbury Court has a Review Score of 9.4 (9.432)

The Review Score of 9.4 (maximum of 10) for Westbury Court is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 11 Reviews over all time. This Average Rating is also the rating value for Westbury Court in Google's Search Results - more info

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.7 out of 5 from 6 positive Reviews in the last 12 months.

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating of all Reviews over all time. For each review the Care Home / service is rated Excellent, Good, Satisfactory, Poor or Very Poor on a number of areas eg Staff, Management etc. The Care Home receives points for each rating as follows: Excellent = 5. Good = 4. Satisfactory = 3. Poor = 2. Very Poor = 1. These points are added up and then divided by the total number of completed ratings to generate the average rating.

    The Average Rating of 4.718 for Westbury Court is calculated as follows: ( (97 Excellents x 5) + (31 Goods x 4) + (3 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 131 Ratings = 4.718

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 12 months. If there are no Positive Reviews in the last 12 months, then 2.5 points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 2 years. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with 'Extremely Likely' or 'Likely' in answer to the question 'How likely are you to recommend this Care Home to friends and family if they needed similar care or treatment?'

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 5 Positive Reviews, 3 points for the first Positive Review and then 0.25 Points for each of the next 4 Positive Reviews.

    2. 1 point is available for reaching a target number of Positive Reviews based on 20% of the number of registered maximum number of service users. If the target is partially reached then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home with 50 registered maximum number of service users has a target of 10 Positive Reviews, if it has 10 or more Positive Reviews it will receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews will receive 0.7 points.

    3. If there are no Positive Reviews in the last 12 months, then 2.5 points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 2 years. The calculation is the same as above, except the points are divided by 2.

The 4.714 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Westbury Court is based on 6 positive Reviews in the last 12 months and is calculated as follows:

    1. 3 + 0.25 + 0.25 + 0.25 + 0.25 = 4

    2. Target of 8.4 positive Reviews (42 registered maximum number of service users ÷ 5). 6 Reviews ÷ 8.4 Target = 0.714

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

My dad was a resident from May 2016 until his death in March 2017.
He was very happy there, always cheerful when we visited. Extremely well cared for, always clean and washed well. He enjoyed the activities and even went to the pub on a couple of occasions. The staff were so kind and friendly with an underlying professionalism. I was so grateful to everyone for taking such great care of my dad.

Always kind and caring to my husband and he was very happy there. It was a long way for me to visit he didn't want to move nearer home. We asked him several times but he always said I'm very happy here. The staff always were pleased to see you and kept us well informed about him.

Going into a care home wasn't something I ever wanted for my mum. However, she settled in quickly and this I feel is due to the amazing team of staff who care for my mum and all the residents in a very caring and professional way. The home cooked food is excellent and the whole home is spotlessly clean. Knowing that mum is happy and well looked after means so much. Thank you so much for all that you do.

I like the staff and really enjoy being pushed around the gardens. My room is pleasant, clean and looked after. I enjoy music and visitors. I like the food especially the cake.
The only thing I feel uncomfortable about is when one or two of the residents interfere with my personal space or shout and swear.

We were very impressed by the caring and warm attitude displayed by the day staff towards my grandmother. I was pleased to note an upbeat and friendly atmosphere each time I visited. The food was tasty and attractively presented, with a choice of main course at every meal. The activities co-ordinator is a real gem and works hard to engage residents in a variety of pastimes. Staff-to-resident ratio is good during the day but we felt the night staff were not as plentiful as we would have ideally wished. The pleasant manager has worked hard to increase the CQC rating and this is evident in the smooth running of the place. On the whole, a commendable experience.

The care in Westbury Court is first class. We are so impressed with all aspects of care. It is a real home, the staff are friendly, polite and professional and kind. Everyone is happy. Everything is what we think a care home should be. Very clean and well maintained. Our friend is well looked after. The food is very good. We could not have found a better place for respite or long term care. The management should be congratulated for their hard work and caring ways. Thank you.

My aunt is very happy and content at Westbury Court. The staff are always very helpful and pleasant to me when I visit and I observe them being very kind and caring to the residents. My aunts room is always very clean and she is well cared for. I see the food is good with a wide selection for the residents. The administration of the home and the charity that runs it is first class. Overall this appeals to me to be a well run caring home.

Mum passed away suddenly on March 4th. She had lived at Westbury Court for nearly a year. She made many friends. The care was extremely good, taking care of her especially in difficult anxious times and her care from being in hospital. She enjoyed the food and the level of care she received. Thank you.

After a long hospital stay, Mum went to Westbury Court as a frail 99 year old. Care home staff did their utmost to support and encourage her to regain some confidence and mobility. They always treated her with respect and kindness and were all sad when she died only 12 days later. One of Mum's sayings was "I don't want to be a nuisance", but no one at the home ever behaved as if she were anything other than a valued resident.
