Located in Grantham, Newton House is a single storey purpose-built home with extensive garden areas planted with seasonal plants, fruit and vegetables. The care home staff have been great at arranging video chats with mum regularly ever since lockdown has made visiting in person impossible for the time being. This has been happening with several family members frequently. I would like to personally thank the staff involved in this. I think this care
and attention to detail has made a real difference in how happy and settled mum has been in the home.

In these challenging times, I have found all the staff to be very caring.
We have been kept informed, at every stage, about their plans to keep everyone safe and their approach to Mum's care.
Although we haven’t always been able to visit in person, we have been able to see Mum, latterly via video
call.
She is being well looked after by the nursing and care staff and entertained with a multitude of activities by the activities team.
Thank you, everyone, for looking after my mum so well.

Since Covid-19 came along I have been unable to see my mother in person. To view her condition, to offer her my affection and to be involved in her day to day life. This has been a hard adjustment as previously we had weekly visits and daily phone calls. I have had to put my faith in the staff of this
care home, at a genuinely frightening time not only in terms of the world crisis but also at a time when my mother's condition has massively deteriorated. I know it was the right choice because of how well physically and emotionally she seems there. The staff I have spoken and video called with seem so overwhelmingly positive and their welcoming and chatty warmth reassures me that they are doing their best for my mum. It means the world to me.

It’s been a difficult year for everyone but my comfort has been knowing that Mum is genuinely cared for in Newton. Whenever I see her on video calls she is clean and tidy and smiling and I know she has the best care.
The team that deals directly with Mum are wonderful and go over and above to make
life as comfortable, safe and fun for her!
They all deserve medals.

Just wanted to pass on our thanks to all the staff at Newton House. Without exception all the staff my dad has had looking after him since he transferred to Newton House in July have been exceptional. This has meant that my dad has settled in and trusts staff to look after him, a major achievement that
was never really fulfilled at his last home. Staff really go out of their way to get to know residents and do the best to provide what a resident enjoys. Although a small thing like having a bath may seem to us, it’s a lovely experience for my dad and now the staff know he enjoys this, they try and work it into their timing as much as possible. My dad always looks well cared for, he has always taken great care of his appearance and staff ensure that this remains the same, this brings comfort to my mum also. When we call staff are always helpful, supportive and respectful, and eager to accommodate both my dad’s needs and those of his family. Could not ask for more, thank you.

I could not fault the staff, friendly, helpful. They were often understaffed and they had to move between the blocks which was not ideal with Covid. Food was good but meals were too close together for me. Three times I had no toilet paper, once I really needed it and had to ring. The shower head made
it difficult to take a shower. The TV was too low as the bed end blocked it. Staff had to put it on a box. It would have made sense to mount it to the wall.

My wife was moved to Newton House in early May. She has Alzheimer's but due to neglect in another home, she had lost a lot of weight in a short time and developed serious pressure sores. The astonishing care that she received from the nurses and other staff has resulted in weight gain and finally the
healing of the pressure sores. Above all, they have kept me informed with good news and were not afraid to tell me straight if it was not so good. I thought I would never see my wife out of bed again, but on my last visit, she was in a wheelchair. Although she does not communicate she has a smile on her face and looks content. The three young ladies who were looking after her were so kind to her (and me), apparently, she is going to have a Chinese meal soon - a sweet and sour chicken should go down well. The care that my wife has received was exceptional and a tribute to the management and staff. Thank you all and bless you for saving her life and giving a real lady some peace and dignity.

Since my mother was first admitted to Newton House, I cannot speak highly enough of the care she had received. The staff is without fail, cheerful, helpful, and compassionate. They encourage her to take part in activities without pushing her and are always willing to go that little bit further. We have
felt confident that she is in the best place possible at this stage of her life, and have no regrets about her move to Newton House; traumatic for all of us. The staff has gone above and beyond, and we are forever grateful. Thank you so very much.

I just wanted to express my heartfelt thanks to you and your teams for everything you do for my mum, on Westgate. I have been able to visit her on 2 occasions now, with a weekly rolling visit and FaceTime planned from hereon in. It has been an extremely difficult time for us as a family, as we have
always had Mum come home to us every 2nd weekend or so. She lived with us for 10 years prior to her dementia becoming unsafe for her to be left alone whilst we were at work, and so for her not to be able to do this with us has been deeply distressing for all of us.
Your team has, as always, been so very kind and considerate to Mum's evergrowing needs. It is wonderful to see the genuine love, care and tenderness that your team displays towards her. This is extremely comforting to see (from a 3-meter social distance) as I cannot yet give her a very much longed-for hug. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

This place and the staff are just amazing! My nan was only in there for a week before Christmas before she passed on Boxing Day, but the care was second to none and the staff looked after us, especially with family members staying as we knew time was running out for Nan. The care and compassion of the
staff was brilliant and one in particular was amazing.
The place is clean and well organized. Couldn't have wished for a better place for my lovely nan to spend her last days. A huge thank you to everyone who cared for and supported my nan and us as family.

Until lockdown, I would have described this as a happy place and excellent all round. Sadly, lack of staff has made things uncomfortable, both for personnel and residents, with carers sometimes near breaking point. On that account, I am sorry to lower the score. However, full marks for keeping us safe

I am very happy with the social events put on for the residents of the home. The staff are always very helpful, cheerful and willing to answer any of my queries if possible. The home seems very well run and clean. My friend is very happy and content and now thinks of Newton House as his new home. I

Hi, my name is Sonia, and I am the General Manager here at Newton House care home. Welcome to our website!

I have worked for the healthcare sector for many years and bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the home. I like to build strong working relations with the team and stakeholders involved.


Quality of care that all my residents receive is my passion and I aim to ensure that all the residents in my care receive the best and most person centred care possible.

Sam Holt

Job Title: Head of Community

Joined: 2017

Sam has been a member of the Newton House family for seven years and has worked in care for thirty years. She describes working on Memory Lane and wishing to better the lives of those touched by dementia as her calling.


She loves spending time with and getting to know our residents, she enjoys being a part of such a friendly and supportive team of colleagues.


In her spare time, Sam loves to Crochet, she has four children and plans on adding a puppy to her family in the near future.

Tina Biggins

Job Title: Nurse

Tina has been a part of the Newton for nearly 30 years and takes an immense sense of pride in her role.


She loves being a part of the team in the home and helping our residents.


In her spare time she enjoys being a local cubs and scouts leader .


Charlotte

Charlotte Yates

Job Title: Deputy Manager

Joined: 2013

Charlotte is proud to hold the role of Deputy Manager at Newton House, she has been with the home since 2013.


Starting as a newly qualified nurse and then becoming head of community on Castlegate before beginning her new role as Deputy Manager.


She speaks highly of the feeling of being part of a larger family in the home, embracing her colleagues, residents and family members.


Charlotte's passion lies in Memory Lane and wanting to enrich the lives of those touched by dementia.


Away from Newton House, Charlotte enjoys spending time with her family including her three daughters, and two dogs, going for walks and enjoying reading and cooking.


Margaret

Margaret Campbell

Job Title: Head of Community

Joined: 2009

Margaret has been a member of the Newton House family since 2009 and in that time she has been a much-cherished nurse and the Head of Community on Brownlow.


Margaret loves being a part of the Memory Lane Community and making a real difference in our residents' lives, whilst supporting their families and loved ones. She finds her role at Newton House to be incredibly rewarding.


In her spare time, Margaret enjoys yoga, and going for walks, in particular at Belton House where she is a member of the National Trust. Margaret loves to spend time with her family and her grown-up children.

My name is Hazel has been a proud part of the Newton House family since May 2024. I have been a qualified nurse for over 10 years. I am extremely passionate in delivering exceptional palliative end of life care and love been part of the Newton House Family.
