Laurely Bank has a lovely atmosphere and great staff. The staff make every effort to maker sure my mother is well looked after. Laurel Bank is a nice place to visit and I always enjoy my visits and interaction with the staff! Although its not an ideal situation for Mum being disabled the staff are great helping her to cope - of course its not perfect but in comparision to all the care home's in our area its the best by a mile!

All the staff seem very pleasant, and genuinely fond of the residents, and give them good attention, at all times. The food is of high quality, although not always very hot. Jobs requested do not necessarily get done quickly - if at all. We were not the only people to request, on behalf of the person we visited, that her bed be turned through 90 degrees, so that it was under the window, but it never happened. Nor did the haircut asked for. Good care is provided, generally, but our friend did not seem to us to be sufficiently stimulated, so was quite isolated.

I have been generally very pleased with care at Laurel Bank. Any issues have usually been quickly resolved. The staff are very caring and attentive and patient. My aunty enjoys the excellent food and likes to join in or observe many of the activities - They are of a high standard and varied. The home feels like a family, hugs are frequent and staff give extra thought to how they work and what time they give to residents. Much as my aunty would like to live back at her home, she realises that the experience she gets at LB is far above average. I love having her nearby and being able to visit at any time.

When my brother first arrived at Laurel Bank he found it very hard to settle, but with the help of the staff and the activities in which he was involved, he became less aggressive, thanks to the attention given by members of staff. It was pleasing to learn that he was more settled. On one occasion late afternoon, I returned him to his room only to find that there was no bedding in place. On a further occasion he was sat in a lounge, only for me to see that very obviously, he was sat in his own urine - his trousers were very wet. Overall his experience at Laurel Bank was of the highest quality with only those two little blips. Returning to his involvement in activities those members of staff responsible for his care were superb with the attention and how it was given, even to the extent of making him smile on occasions.

What Can I Say? Fantastic! Wonderful! Perfect! Myself and my mother were not sure of the "Care home thing" when it became time to decide where my father (Harry) would spend the rest of his days? And we were given a few options one of these being Laurel Bank. We were so glad we chose them, from start to finish my dad was treated as a person an individual and most importantly to me a Human Being! Although being bed bound he was included in as much as possible and myself and mum became part of this special family at a very difficult time in our lives always someone to talk to, kept up to date in his treatment and care and the things like birthdays Christmas and anniversary's celebrated in a very special way! When dad passed the care didn't stop we had and have had some special moments and memories in Laurel Bank from the Managers to domestic staff all very special and wonderful people.
Thank you so much for everything you did.

We will always think of you fondly Xx

Absolutely fantastic, genuinely caring staff. They worked so hard to make sure my dad had a happy and fulfilling life. They gave my dad an excellent service and helped him settle in and enjoy life when living at home was no longer possible. Moving to a nursing home was very difficult for all concerned and Laurelbank really helped us through it.

I just listened to the radio and heard about the celebrations for a 103 year old lady, and honestly, I hope whenever this day is thought about or spoken about, it's with nothing but pride. Laurel Bank & everyone that helped need to be just so proud of the work they put in and how they make a place for residents to continue living their lives. I always say Laurel Bank is made of magic but I think this is a reminder to all, that magic is made at Laurel Bank. A place where despite the age, dreams still can come true. People would be lucky to have family or friends stay here. It really is so wonderful with great management, great staff & lovely residents!

Laurel Bank has been exceptional in caring for my mum following an emergency short-term stay due to a fall. It quickly became clear she needed permanent care, and the manager and deputy manager made the transition seamless, ensuring all her needs were met. The administrator handled the administration efficiently, making the process stress-free. The entire team-nursing, care, and housekeeping-provides outstanding, attentive support. Special thanks to the Pink Ladies, whose fantastic activities have truly lifted my mum's spirits. We're so grateful for the kindness and dedication of everyone at Laurel Bank!

The home has such a wonderful, homely and caring feel as soon as you walk in the building. The care and kindness shown in so many ways, from reception area, laundry, kitchen and care/nursing staff, they all work so hard to ensure that residents are as happy, content and looked after as can be. Our mum's care at Barchester Laurel Bank Care Home was outstanding, she was treated with respect, such amazing care, understanding and real friendship.
Every time I visited which was most days when I was in Lancaster, there was such a happy vibe, the staff are second to none and went out of their way to make Mum's life happy, she always had a good laugh and funny stories to tell.
Mum's food was excellent and was given many options if she was not feeling like eating from the menu.
I cannot thank the amazing staff at Laural Bank enough. You are a credit to Barchester.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Mum is making very good progress at Barchester Laurel Bank Care Home, both medically and mentally. The recent trips out to a cafe and the park were very much enjoyed by her, the encouragement by the activities coordinator has been particularly outstanding. Mum is also able now to take most of her meals in the dining room and is enjoying the company.

Word-of-mouth recommendation caused me to choose Barchester Laurel Bank Care Home for two week's respite care. Warmly welcome - all staff are loving and caring. Room is spacious, decor tasteful, surroundings quiet and restful. Dining room is light and airy, spotless, white damask tablecloths and napkins. Lounge and quiet lounge - chairs and settees arranged randomly - not in long lines or circles with everyone staring at each other. Decorations throughout immaculate. Food always hot, plates hot and well presented. Even after a short stay, I am impressed and overall, I know this home is well-run and the word I would use to describe it is outstanding! I could write more.

Hi, my name is Lyndsay, and I am the General Manager here at Laurel Bank.

I am an RGN and have worked in the care sector for over 20 years. I moved over to Lancaster in 2019 from the North East to work for Barchester.

I began my career as a care assistant in 1998 and found that I enjoyed the environment so much that I trained to be a nurse, then transferred to management.

As a manager of a care home, every day is different and, at Barchester, we endeavor to enhance the lives of all residents on a daily basis. We incorporate their life history's and interests when planning activities in the home so that they can live life to the fullest.

I have worked in the home for a number of years and joined initially as one of the home's activities coordinators and then went on to becoming a care practitioner, then I got promoted in 2021 to deputy manager!

I absolutely love my role and especially getting to know our residents and supporting the team in the delivery of high standards of care. Essential to our homely feel is the strong relationships of trust we build with residents and their families and friends.

Hi, my name is Sally, and I am one of the Clinical Leads at Laurel Bank.

I was previously a registered manager for 6 years with another company & decided to follow my heart and return to a nursing role as this also provides a great work life balance.

My passion is around end of life care and working with the professional and caring team collaboratively at Laurel Bank. I feel I now have my "dream job" in a wonderful care home.

Jaimy Lee Almond

Hi, my name is Jaimy Lee, and I am the Activities Coordinator here at Laurel Bank.

I have worked in the care home industry for over nine years. I started working at Laurel Bank in 2018 as a carer, and then, I was promoted to senior carer which I thoroughly enjoyed.

I moved over to activities in 2020, as I was asked to help out and help encourage residents to join in. During this, I realised how much fun it could be and chose to stay on and got promoted to Activities Coordinator.

I love my role as every day is different and I try to make sure the residents are happy and engage in meaningful activities, this also helps support the transition for new residents.

I joined the team here at Laurel Bank in 2020 as a second chef but got promoted to Head Chef!

I started working for Barchester in March 2024.

I had my own business for 20 years as a builder and fancied a change. When I came for my interview for Laurel Bank I knew straight away that this is where I wanted to be. The staff were so friendly and you could see that it was all about the residents I wanted to be part of a team like that. I do all sorts in my role like painting, fixing things and even charity events like car washing day. I look forward to my future here at Laurel Bank.
