Reviews

7.1 Warneford House Care Centre has a Review Score of 7.1 (7.129)

The Review Score of 7.1 (maximum of 10) for Warneford House Care Centre is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 7 Reviews over all time. This Average Rating is also the rating value for Warneford House Care Centre in Google's Search Results - more info

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 2.4 out of 5 from 7 positive Reviews in the last 2 years. (A 2 year period has been used as there were no positive reviews in the last 12 months)

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating of all Reviews over all time. For each review the Care Home / service is rated Excellent, Good, Satisfactory, Poor or Very Poor on a number of areas eg Staff, Management etc. The Care Home receives points for each rating as follows: Excellent = 5. Good = 4. Satisfactory = 3. Poor = 2. Very Poor = 1. These points are added up and then divided by the total number of completed ratings to generate the average rating.

    The Average Rating of 4.691 for Warneford House Care Centre is calculated as follows: ( (58 Excellents x 5) + (21 Goods x 4) + (2 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 81 Ratings = 4.691

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 12 months. If there are no Positive Reviews in the last 12 months, then 2.5 points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 2 years. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with 'Extremely Likely' or 'Likely' in answer to the question 'How likely are you to recommend this Care Home to friends and family if they needed similar care or treatment?'

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 5 Positive Reviews, 3 points for the first Positive Review and then 0.25 Points for each of the next 4 Positive Reviews.

    2. 1 point is available for reaching a target number of Positive Reviews based on 20% of the number of registered maximum number of service users. If the target is partially reached then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home with 50 registered maximum number of service users has a target of 10 Positive Reviews, if it has 10 or more Positive Reviews it will receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews will receive 0.7 points.

    3. If there are no Positive Reviews in the last 12 months, then 2.5 points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 2 years. The calculation is the same as above, except the points are divided by 2.

The 2.438 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Warneford House Care Centre is based on 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as follows:

    1. 3 + 0.25 + 0.25 + 0.25 + 0.25 = 4 then divided by 2 = 2.000

    2. Target of 8 positive Reviews (40 registered maximum number of service users ÷ 5). 7 Reviews ÷ 8 Target = 0.875 , then divided by 2 = 0.438

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

I have been very happy with Warneford House Care Centre the staff are superb, caring and helpful. The home is clean and well maintained, I had an issue with patients going outside in the garden and there being no security fence, we approached management, we were listened to, had several meetings and quite quickly the fence was erected. My overall impression of the home is of a well run, caring and warm home.

My Mum's been in Warneford House for a year and is very happy and settled there. My brothers and I are certain that we made the right choice of care home for her. It's a lovely home, all on one level which is brilliant as Mum is in a wheelchair. Her room is clean, bright and nicely decorated. The care/nursing staff are EXCELLENT, so welcoming, friendly, caring, work very hard and nothing is too much trouble, I can't praise them enough.
All areas of the home, inside and out, are clean and well looked after. The food is great, a varied menu and beautifully presented. There's a large day room looking out to the garden and a smaller TV lounge. Daily activities which residents are encouraged, and helped, to be involved in. There are day trips and also go out locally to other care homes for activities/afternoon tea. All staff from catering, cleaning and maintenance are helpful too. I am aware of my Mums health but if there are any changes or problems I am usually called and kept informed.

I go to see my friend regularly in Warneford House. If I had to go in a home I would gladly go in there. All the staff are excellent and I have never seen anyone so kind to the old folk, giving them just a hug sometimes brings tears to my eyes. The rooms are lovely, clean and bright. I can't praise them enough, games they play with them even tough most have dementia its very nice to see and I am 84. I can't praise them enough.

Care staff are excellent. Do not feel should have agency as it confuses the residents. Higher staff sometimes feel quite authoritative and make you feel you shouldn't ask questions about the level of care given. Before arrival of resident a sheet should be available advising of e.g New GP, what bedding is required and level of care to be given.

I am very pleased with the care my mother receives in her care home. She is always clean and very well looked after. Mum has deteriorated in the past months but the staff know just when she needs bed rest and always give me an update on her condition. She enjoys her food which always smells appetising and well presented. I feel confident that mum is safe here and know the staff would be in touch with me over any concerns. It is a very happy home and there are many activities for residents in the home and outings, during the year.
