Elmwood Care Home

Mum had a wonderful 94th birthday thanks to the hardworking staff's thoughtful and generous provision of decorations, refreshments and lovely birthday cake. Mum is being very well cared for, we are four generations of family, we were able to relax together with peace of mind, to celebrate.

We cannot think of anywhere to better Elmwood having looked at many homes. The personal service is very much appreciated and the staff are exceptional.

A considerate and caring team look after my father well and help him to be as comfortable as possible.

My mother has been in this care home since November 2017. She sadly passed away this month, but the care and compassion the staff gave mother and the family were excellent. The staff and management were so friendly and approachable.

Things here continue to impress, it all appears to run with a high degree of customer satisfaction, particularly as far as the residents within are concerned. Attention to detail is paramount. It must be quite difficult at times trying to achieve total satisfaction, but they seem to be able to go beyond that, and more. Well done to all the staff.

The key to any nursing home, in my opinion, is its staff. Ultimately their individual care, empathy and skills will impact the life of the residents more than any other single area. The staff at Elmwood possess these qualities. Friendly, caring and respectful toward their charges.

I asked my mother when she was able to speak, if she felt cared for - possibly the most important question for me as her son, she replied that she did. It is this care by the staff, in all its forms, I believe has kept my mother alive and well 2 years longer than the GP's expectations when she first arrived at Elmwood. The facilities are good, cleanliness excellent but the staff from the reception to the social host to all nursing staff and care assistants are what make Elmwood.

Very good. I feel mum is looked after well and the care workers know and understand mum and her needs.

My mother is 101 years old in two weeks. She has lived at Elmwood for almost 11 years. I am not backwood at coming forward if a complaint is necessary, but in 11 years this has never been necessary. My mothers room is large, always clean and free from odour. When the weather is good there is a pleasant outside area to sit. The meals are served in a spacious restaurant and the choice of menu is excellent. Above all the staff are and have been over 11 years, excellent.

It's marvelous, I have settled now. I am here on respite, everybody is wonderful.

Mum stayed here for two weeks respite. All the staff were caring and friendly. Mum was very well cared for and looked after during her stay. The staff made sure mum was assessed and her needs met whilst she was there. This was greatly appreciated by the family and helped provide peace of mind.

My 94 year old terminally ill great aunt, spent the last few weeks of her life in Elmwood. I was incredibly impressed with the whole team who contributed to that care. Room was comfortable and clean, still were very caring, supportive, friendly and competent. They were understanding and sympathetic to our plight. I would not hesitate to recommend the home to any one else with same circumstances as our own.

The Activities Coordinator at Elmwood does a Wonderful Job. He is so giving of himself to all the Residents. He is a delight to watch with them.
