Green Acres is a very good nursing home. The staff are well organised, friendly and caring. Facilities are very good. At this moment in time with coronavirus, I know my wife is very safe. I have no reservations in recommending Green Acres.
Thank you so much for your kind review. We strive to provide the best possible quality care, and it's especially important to us to make sure the residents feel connected with their relatives during such hard times for all of us. We'll make sure to pass your review on to all the staff. Kind regards, Green Acres.
My wife has good care. She is treated with dignity, care and support. Good staff, good management, good rooms. Cleanliness, food and drink. Good activities.
My mother has been treated and cared for by a compassionate staff who have given their heart and soul during the pandemic to do their very best. I cannot give enough praise for all the staff who have gone beyond the call of duty. We have been kept informed at all times. We hope and with feeling, ask that you all stay safe and well.
I am very happy with the way the staff care for my dad. He is very happy there and is always treated with respect and dignity. Communication between myself and the staff is excellent, and I am confident my dad is being well cared for.
Reviews like this mean a lot to us as we strive to make sure Green Acres is the home away from home for our residents. We'll make sure to pass your kind words on to the team. Kind regards, Green Acres.
I would like to take this opportunity to commend the Green Acres Nursing Home for their excellent care they gave my mum whilst she spent the last four weeks of her life. The home is clean, caring, very dignified and compassionate towards not only patients but family members too. They even went to the extreme and gave myself and another two members of my family a room so we could put our head down and catch some sleep as we spent five nights solid as my mum was dying. They provided us with food and compassion and couldn't do enough for us. I will say this once again and for the rest of my life I'm so thankful for the care and support they gave my mum and recommend this home for anybody's loved ones.
Thank you for your review and kind words. I will be sure to pass your message onto all the staff at Green Acres. Regards.
Green Acres Care Home is such a wonderful clean, warm, caring place. I've just spent a week of visiting and staying with my mum who was 86 years old. The staff are so caring and polite, not only to my mum but with all of us too, taking time out and sitting in a room with you while you are upset, providing us with sandwiches, scones and cake on a daily basis while we were comforting our mum. We had this from all levels of staff right up to our mum passing away on the 29th February 2020. All I can say to anyone wanting a care home for their loved one is you can not go wrong choosing Green Acres. You get all you want from clean tidy rooms to 100% quality care from every member of staff, whether they do the admin work or clean, care for patients or make the food, and to Green Acres I would like to thank you all from the bottom of my heart for everything each and every one of you did for my mum. Thank you.
Thank you for your kind words and response. We will be sure to pass this to all staff. Regards.
The staff are kind and attentive, a smile, a kind word and a cup of tea really helps if my dad is having a bad day or needs reassurance. The kitchen team provide very good home-cooked food and will try their utmost to meet all diets and taste. My dad has a very poor appetite but they encourage and tempt him to eat by trying different foods.
Dad requires 24/7 nursing care which the home provides with the help of his onsite Nurse, GP and other care professionals so I know his health is being monitored 24/7.
2. Cleanliness is below a standard, any reasonable person would expect.
3. The quality of care is highly questionable.
4. My father has eaten very little if anything in the home.
5. Father has one armchair. A large amount of fluid on the seat. Strange considering father as been bed-bound for 9 months.
6. The key code entry was changed in November. On every visit, I ask for the new number. So far, every member of staff has been unable to give me the number.
7. Do staff answer the buzzers? Not in my experience. The buzzers are continuous with staff reluctant to answer them.
8. I arrive at around 7 pm when visiting my father, the inconvenience on the staff's face is clearly evident. They cannot wait to usher me out the door.
9. Unenthusiastic staff. More supervision is needed.
10. In summary, the end of life 'care' for my father in this tired, run down and uncaring environment. Will be on my conscience for as long as I live.
Dear AW, thank you for taking the time to leave the review. Providing high quality of care is of utmost importance to us and we take reviews like this very seriously. To make sure we address all of your concerns, without sharing private information about your father's stay, the care home manager...
I'm very pleased with her and all the staff at Green Acres for trying to make this possible.
Having visited a number of nursing homes prior to visiting Green Acres, I felt immediately at ease when I entered reception. I was greeted by friendly/attentive staff, coupled with a fresh clean smell of lemon. The look of the lovely and recently decorated reception area was a very pleasant surprise. This high standard continued throughout the home - the rooms are larger than average and although we decorated mum's room prior to her moving in, they are clean and stylish. The lounge/dining areas are newly refurbished and very spacious and mum enjoys both areas with other residents when she chooses. The gardens are now being used by residents/family members with garden parties and lots of tea! There are two Activity Co-ordinators that do a great job managing to accommodate individuals. All staff, from the housekeepers, carers to the nurses are attentive and make an effort to get to know all residents. The food is good/varied and the team go out of their way for all. A lovely home.
It is approximately five years since my wife started being with the origins of dementia (mind wandering). She slowly got worse. The last two years the illness really took hold from bad to really bad. I looked after her the whole time. She was given respite twice for me to have a break. I was not really impressed. They didn't come close to the care and attention she gets here.
Thank you for your lovely review. We are holding monthly coffee mornings for relatives and friends should you wish to join us. There is a notice on the entrance for these dates. It would be good to see you. I will give this feedback to the team who will really appreciate it.
Care home is great. I am delighted with the care my friend receives. The staff are very caring, very polite and I can see their hearts are in the jobs. My friend is very well looked after always well dressed, could not get a better care home. Very clean. Staff are superb.
Helpful and caring staff, father is settled and happy.
Lighting is atrocious in the bedrooms, with only a low wattage ceiling light, most of the rooms are dark due to the overgrown hedges and large trees surrounding the home.
I can only say the staff are lovely and I thought the food was also very good. Plenty of smiles and cups of tea at all times.
The home is clean, but decor is scruffy.
Thank you for taking the time to review Green Acres Nursing Home. Our staff strive to provide the best quality care possible. We take on board your comments and please do feel welcome to call into the office to discuss anything further with us.
