Baillieston Care Home offers residential and nursing care in a quiet, residential area located on the outskirts of Glasgow.

Inside the home there are 60 bedrooms, all offering en suite facilities. Residents are welcome to bring along their own belongings and decorate their room however they wish to help them settle in and feel at home. There are also light and bright living areas, including a spacious dining area and seating areas where residents can relax or socialise with others. A garden outside the home offers a great space for residents to enjoy the warmer weather too.

The team of care professionals offer quality care to all residents but also work hard to create an engaging living environment where people feel part of the community. There are plenty of activities on offer and regular trips out are planned in the local area.

My mum has been a resident at the Baillieston Care Home since 2016. In that time, I have got to know the staff very well. Everyone is so friendly and caring, especially towards my mum, who resides on the dementia floor. The home itself is very spacious, it's clean and tidy at all times and is very well
run with the management and office staff. Mum is provided with freshly made meals throughout the day, which is suited to her dietary needs. Her clothing is always washed and ironed to a high standard at all times, and there is a constant stream of entertainment for the residents. I, like many others, was concerned about my mum's health and welfare during this covid-19 pandemic, however, when I phoned, the staff gave me updates on Mum's condition reassuring me she was well throughout. With their rigorous infection prevention control policies in place, they have kept Mum safe during this time. Words cannot describe how I and all the family members feel knowing that when we leave Mum after a visit, she is in a safe place with round the clock care. Thank you all.

Mum moved to Baillieston after her first care home closed down and we were immediately impressed by how welcoming and kind the staff team were. Mum has been a resident for nearly two years and the staff are now like family to her and us. Can’t speak highly enough of the incredible job they have done
to keep residents and families cared for throughout this COVID 19 crisis. They all deserve medals and to be valued as much as families and residents value these amazing people.

Very good caring environment, totally trusted with Mum's care. 100% better than previous her previous home, which I had to report, as the carers here actually care. During lockdown I have been very stressed but only because I can't see her

All staff I've had dealings with for my gran have been great. Very polite, well mannered, understanding, considerate and extremely nice. Especially two members of staff in particular, who have been amazing in helping me come to terms with my gran's illness and keeping me up to date on a regular basis
as to how my gran is keeping. The care home manager is so hands-on, and a massive credit to the care home. I like the fact her door is always open. Not to mention the events co-ordinator always does her best with all residents to ensure they are kept occupied. Staff at Baillieston Care Home not only care about the residents but they always consider the families and how their feeling and their needs when it comes to the resident.
Fab home, glad I moved my gran into this care home!

Excellent care home and the level of care for loved ones is as it was their own family. As hard as the transition can be when you are either thinking or in the process of moving a family member in, the staff are very understanding, supportive and were happy to answer our queries.

I regularly visit Baillieston Care Home with my dog who is a registered Therapet with Canine Concern Scotland, the visits don't just benefit the residents in many ways it also benefits myself, the residents are always happy to see Chilli and I and the staff are always welcoming and pleased to see us,
there's always a nice warm atmosphere and a great welcome when we arrive. Through these visits and along with staff members we have made integrational links through my day job with a childcare group. Looking forward to many more visits.

Current Review Score: 8.6 (8.612)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.6 (8.612) out of 10 for Baillieston Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 5 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.9 out of 5 from 5 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.695 for Baillieston Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (44 Excellents x 5) + (12 Goods x 4) + (3 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 59 Ratings = 4.695
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 3.917 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Baillieston Care Home is based on 5 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.5
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 60 registered maximum number of service users is 12. 5 Positive Reviews ÷ 12 = 0.417
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
