Canniesburn Care Home is a modern, purpose built home, in the Bearsden area of Glasgow. Located in the former grounds of Canniesburn Hospital and local amenities are within walking distance and Glasgow city centre is less than 15 minutes away.

The home caters for elderly people with dementia. Rooms are bright and spacious, each with en suite facilities. Residents are invited to personalise their bedrooms with ornaments and family photos.

Bedroom doors are fitted with a lock, so residents can choose who to invite into their personal space. There is a dedicated activities co-ordinator and a minibus to take residents out on day trips.

I can't rate this home highly enough. We visited many care homes in the area and instantly knew this was the right one for dad. The staff are among the friendliest, caring and motivated I have ever seen. The manager took on board all of our worries and anxieties and made the transition for the family (dad included) easier than we could've imagined. Dad's room was decorated to an excellent standard and we were even involved in choosing wallpaper that best-suited dad's taste. Nothing is a problem to any of the staff, including the maintenance workers who were more than happy to hang pictures chosen by us to personalise dad's room and make it feel like home. My dad has settled in amazingly well and still raves about the care he receives. We couldn't have wished for more and can't thank the staff enough!

When our dad took a stroke, he never recovered fully, resulting in needing 24 hr nursing care. It was a shock to both him and our family. We researched all options and visited several care homes. It is without a doubt that Canniesburn Care Home was the best decision we made. The staff are professional, caring and accommodating to our dad's needs. We are confident that our dad is receiving the best level of care we could possibly have hoped for. We can't thank the staff enough.

Resident very content with staff and surroundings.
Well and carefully fed and care for.
Underwear and clothes at times go missing but he is always dressed in his own clothes.

I like the 'old fashioned' way the home is run. My mother loves her soup and food provided. I would like her to have more activities, especially sing-a-long and chair aerobic type of interests to stimulate her, as she does not make any effort herself, and needs to be persuaded for her own good.

The staff telephone regularly if she needs soap, toothpaste etc and if there are any medical issues so communication is good. I have not met the new manager.
