The care that is given to my husband is wonderful. I have never seen him so happy and content and to see him join in the activities are great it a very happy place when you walk through the door. It is like I have a second family. It so clean and they put our loved ones first, now I can go home knowing
he safe. I can't thank the all the staff enough for the really good care. They are always there to support us.

I can't recommend Fairmile Grange highly enough. The actual accommodation is brand new and very spacious. The rooms are an exceptional size with their own personalised touch. The communal areas are really well maintained and have a very sociable but practical feel. I have viewed many homes in the area
and this is by far the best.

Apart from the actual accommodation, the staff have so far been exceptional. They have really understood my mum's needs and have been very communicative with me as a concerned daughter.

Overall, after two weeks, I am extremely happy and I hope that my mum continues to thrive as she is doing so right now.

My late husband was in Fairmile until his death in March 2017. The love and care of the staff (at all levels) was exemplary. My husband enjoyed it there with so much going on (activities etc).

The home is light and airy with plenty of room to sit and walkabout. Bedrooms good size with every facility and no smell of urine anywhere. The staff are always cheerful and ready to be of assistance. The residents have things to do and there are plenty of comfortable seats to sit on with a communal
television if they so wish, as well as one in their bedroom. It is more like a comfortable 4-star hotel than care home.

A very welcoming feel as soon as you enter. Staff all very friendly and helpful. My long term partner settled straight away to my surprise and is very happy and relaxed here. A beautiful place, very light and airy, lovely bedrooms and communal rooms and a very good chef for the meals. I would recommend
this home to anyone.

Current Review Score: 8.6 (8.614)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.6 (8.614) out of 10 for Fairmile Grange is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.5 out of 5 from 7 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.1 out of 5 from 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.476 for Fairmile Grange is calculated as follows: ( (49 Excellents x 5) + (24 Goods x 4) + (8 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 82 Ratings = 4.476
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.138 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Fairmile Grange is based on 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.7
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 80 registered maximum number of service users is 16. 7 Positive Reviews ÷ 16 = 0.438
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Zoe has worked in elderly care since 2017, beginning as a health care assistant and progressing up to a deputy manager. Prior to becoming deputy manager at Fairmile Grange, Zoe was a project coordinator supporting a group of care homes and their managers and staff, helping them to utilise their care planning systems and helping them to improve quality and care standards within their homes by delivering hands-on training and developing resources for all roles using electronic care planning systems.
